If you fix the lag then BO2 gameplay is tight. But you still have the issue of poor map design. The other reason MW2 still sits high on people's lists (OMA and DC notwithstanding), and the reason people don't complain much about its spawns is because of the map design. The end to end size of many of the MW2 maps isn't big but the lines of sight are small in most areas of most maps. Off the top of my head there is a lot of verticality, plus buildings, walls, rooms, fences, bars blocking windows, less doors, hills, etc.

I mean, take these three maps for example:

Invasion:

I don't think anyone can argue it takes a long time to get up/down or across any of those maps. But even though there are a couple areas with long sight lines, there are a ton of safe places to spawn way outside the usual battle areas. And there are so many buildings and crannies to jam someone in, that it doesn't usually present itself as a problem. There ARE sections in all three maps with long sightlines, but you do have the option to avoid them in most cases. Meaning the maps are viable for a whole pantload of gameplay styles.

Put MW2 style maps into BO2 and you have a winner.

Black Ops 1 actually had better maps than BO2, not really sure what happened there. My favorite map in BO2 was actually Drone. I don't know if it was luck or whatever, but I rarely felt screwed by the spawns. Come to think of it, that map seems to closely follow MW2 map design. Long sightlines, barricades, small sightlines, nooks and crannies, and two fairly large spawning areas.

LOL, just had a 40-3 domination game and I made the other team rage quit without even assfucking them with kill streaks. And yes, I capped and defended.

Also, it looks like there's been additional locality weighting added to matchmaking. I'm getting matched up against a bunch of guys with STL in the gamertags and clan tags and I'm near St. Louis.

What is up with Treyarch COD games and getting shot in the back due to terrible spawn points. I don't remember this being a big problem in MW or MW2. I get shot in the back constantly in this game !

I love SBMM. Yes, pair me and my team of low K/Ds (mine was the highest at 1.39), against people who all have 2 K/Ds and have played a lot more Domination then any of us have. That's definitely an equivalent to our skill. Oh, and give them the lagvantage, too, just to reinforce their higher stats even more!

Man, i thought the new patch and double XP would make me play again, but i'm always getting awful connections (PC version).
For every match where my gun feels like it works fine i get at least five matches where i'm throwing tic-tacs and die almost instantly as soon as i see an enemy.

The SMG changes from the patch feel very miniscule. Laser Sight with them is still very effective or were those hipfire and recoil changes only for the SMGs that don't have Laser Sight?

I'm also liking the UAV score requirement increase. It's made Ghost less of a no-brainer. All they need to do now is somehow make Scavenger less of a no-brainer which would be a hard task regardless because the 2nd slot perks are all kind of unimportant save for Toughness and perhaps Fast Hands. Hard Wired though, who really needs Hard Wired, seriously?

Yeah, its a problem with Treyarch's horrible matchmaking and netcode. Activision put out an FAQ explaining the system.

hmmm, I remember when Modern Warfare 2 came out someone asked the devs if there was any skilled based matchmaking in the game and they explicitly said no; that making matchmaking fast as possible and finding you the best match possible were the only priorities. Now I wonder in which game skilled based matchmaking was introduced? I only ask because there seems to be some debate about when. Some say it's been here, others say this is the first, some say in the first black ops it was introduced.....

anyone experiencing lag? was fine until a couple days ago where the game would lag for a split second making the game damn near unplayable. Not sure whats going on.
 
Just got my first 90 kill game. No killstreaks except a Stealth Chopper that I stole from the enemy that got me like three kills. Hardcore Kill Confirmed btw.

You mean CTF? Looks like you were playing a lot of defense at 90/24 and 7 returns. Not bad!

Also, post some clips of the match!

just tried FAL and wow, its so beastly, I'm loving it

SMR is pretty much awesome too.
 
I'm surprised I don't see it that much with how great it is, I guess because it's at level 55 and people spend permanent unlock tokens on other things when they prestige.

Yea that's what I meant ha. Brain fart. And I mostly stick to the middle of the map to aid in escorting or intercept enemy runners. Seems to work real well for my group of friends and I. Will Blops 2 render clips longer than a minute? What's the new limit on Theater mode?



Not if you feather it to maximize the fast as hell first two shots in each burst.

I really like the AN94, but it sucks in close range.

I like how the recoil basically points the gun right at an enemy's head, so 65 of my 387 kills so far have been headshots. That's insane, my other weapons are like 1 headshot every ten kills.

It does not show shit in red on the screen. Shock sticks or bettys. Last game tonight I got killed by a sentry and when I respawned to go hack it it was still there but still didnt highlight for me.

Why does every third player have a emblem of a cock? I never knew so many people where that openly into that sort of thing (not that there is anything wrong with that)

Are you sure you didn't just unlock it and didn't equip it lol

I know I did that before with cold blooded
 
So, FAL + Select Fire + Stock is so damn good. I'm dropping these SMG and Shotgun fools at any range 80% of the time.

Also, Hunter Killer Drone > Lightning Strike > Stealth Chopper gets me tons of kills on Kill Confirmed (which is the best mode, IMO).
