Call of Duty: Black Ops III |OT| No Content For Old Gen

I guess we have to wait for driftor, I've just used it many times on many different weapons and I don't notice anything, where in bo2 it was very noticeable
That's what I'm waiting for. I might do some tests when I get home with a few guns on splitscreen and see what happens.

Does rapid fire trash the range on weapons in this game? I believe it did in at least one previous CoD game, but I could be wrong.

No I use rapid fie and long barrel on large maps with all,assault rifles and it definitely does does full damage > 42 m.

Source is me doing it for 3 prestiges now. KD of 2 .

Wouldn't the long barrel probably make up for a range penalty, or much of it if one existed? I'd be more curious how it would work with just rapid fire, and no long barrel.

I was digging it. I ran it with recon sight, grip, suppressor, and rapid fire. I know suppressor thrashes LMG range in this game, but I've been getting sick of showing up on the map so often.

I have more kills with the BRM than any other gun in the game I think. I really like it.

Why is it that whenever you hear someone with a live mic making grating sounds its always some dudes named (BLUNT) SmokzalLdAy and (HAZE) IBpuffinCloudz and their boy (WEED) HempJEeSUS. Yes at 3 and 17 with eminem blasting through your 2 dollar microphone, I really find it hard to absorb the wisdom of your gaming tips and strategies.

I had already completed the campaign on Hardened so today I finally finished my Veteran playthrough to get the Veteran difficulty trophy.

Turns out there is no trophy for finishing on Veteran. Dammit!

Speaking of campaign difficulties, I can kinda see why they chose to include realistic and make a trophy for beating the game on realistic, because with all of the new abilities, wallhacks, etc., Veteran is actually pretty easy. At least, compared to the difficulty in past Call of Duty outings.
 
For those of you who love the Kuda - what attachments do you use? I just prestiged and need an SMG to fill the gap before I get the Pharo back, but I'm struggling with the Kuda. Currently running QuickDraw and Grip.

Or do I skip the Kuda and just use the VMP? Don't have the Vesper yet.

I feel like the VMP is a hit marker machine.

CoD4 had it the worst. Footsteps were LOUD. MW2 had it amplified to CoD4 levels when you used Sitrep Pro.


Hadn't people complained about not being able to sound whore in a number of CoD games? I mentioned this in my earlier posts, but I seem to recall that in Black Ops 2. I could be wrong.

Part of what makes it worse is the movement system in my opinion, it's so easy to get all over the map, and make everything chaotic, often easily flank, and track people by their footsteps.

People probably started complaining in BO2 because they added Awareness and made sound whoring too easy and not something you have to be attentive to look out for. I run Awareness on BO3 all the time and it doesn't matter how loud the game gets, I can still pick out people flanking from footsteps.

The major problem with the system is that Dead Silence doesn't guarantee you silent footsteps, really. It isn't so much as it being cheating than it is a major balance issue. Awareness is still just as effective with no headset.

The maps aren't really the problem. I feel it is how the spawn system work. It doesn't take much for players to get spawn onto an enemy's flanking route and get a couple of easy kills. Fringe is really bad at this.

Just started playing this last night and a bit this morning and there's so much more crap to unlock in MP now. Not just weapon camos and specialist character camos, but also weapon attachment variants, all the stuff in the black market like gestures and taunts, etc. Wish there was more time in the day so I can play this game.

Loving the MP so far, I still experience some weird moments of dying way too fast even after getting off the first shot. Some weird latency here and there.

Hope to get some parties in soon. :D

I still think it's totally cheating. As someone who has played with a headset, and a surround sound system, both with awareness, the headset makes an enormous difference and they're nowhere near the same.

People talk about bad spawns all the time. It's the maps and movement system. Make maps with tons of routes, add unlimited sprint and the movement system and it creates total chaos, and totally messes up the spawns. Can't fix bad spawns, when they're just the consequence of those other factors.

Not even remotely comparable considering that Treyarch could remove those perks, and alter the sound mix so that no advantage is given to headphone users. Not a valid analogy.

how do you adjust the soundmix and only have it affect headphone users. any changes you made to the audio affects everyone.

black ops 2 had comparable sound whoring iirc. it was AW that totally made audio useless for me. being able to pickup enemies again based on audio is very much welcome.

All I remember people saying during Black Ops 2 is that they couldn't do it. I'm sure there's a feasible way to at least reduce the issue substantially. And starting with the elimination of the Awareness perk, though a different thing, would be a tremendous start.

I have nothing against people using headphones as I stated in my earlier posts. I do have an issue with them having an advantage over non-headphone users, and that should be eliminated.

They nerfed the Gorgon when it never needed a nerf in the first place, and turned it into a crappy gun.
 
Well, I just updated to the new Crimson drivers and now I can't get above 50 FPS with everything off or disabled.

I think it did, it was very powerful.

I do agree they went too far with the nerf and turned it to crap and probably should have waited a little longer to see how things went with it, but don't forget they have all the stats and they have all the design goals for things so they'll know what is working too well.

Disagree. Yes it was very powerful, in a particular range. It had massive downsides. Horrible ADS time, horrible reload time, horrible fire rate, horrible hip fire. I think a bunch of people whined about it because it was a actually a good defensive gun, and that's why it got nerfed. CoD is filled to the brim with people who sprint around with SMG's, dying constantly, and essentially just spazzing around the map, and I think they hate weapons like that.

It's a very vague idea of what is working "too well" in part. Anyone could see that the Gorgon was really good in one way, and totally sucked in every other way. It was a speciality weapon, with a high risk/high reward dynamic. And now it just sucks.

Oh, you mean the unlimited sprint. Yea, that makes more sense. It was okay as a perk when maps were much larger like on MW2/BO1, but maps have gotten smaller since then in general so it does ruin the pacing alot more than people think. If they wanted a perk that allowed people to get around faster, they should have went with Extreme Conditioning like perk with faster mantling and maybe sliding.

Totally disagree with you on headsets, but whatevs.

Well, unlimited sprint, and changes in
general map design to make them more porous and maze-like, over the years, which I think is the crux of the bad spawn issues in CoD games for a while.

I totally disgagree with you on the headset issue too, and that's totally ok. Haha :)

The DLC was a non-announcement outside of the images though. They always release the first map pack at the end of January/beginning of February.

Would like a better look at those images though...

edit: found a pic. Definitely a hijacked remake. Like the look of that waterpark. Gauntlet has my curiosity too, what with the 3 different images of 3 rather different environments.

I wonder if the pack will have any new guns. Or Treyarch could be cool and release a new weapon free to everyone, so that no one complains about balance or what have you.
