That's funny, because I've been playing online since CoD 4, and that's not what CoD has "always been about" to me, and plenty of other people I'm sure. You're projecting.

Hunting campers eh? Well I like mowing down spazzers, who flail across the map with SMG's over and over again. It feel lame as fuck "hunting" people by their footsteps, getting kills on them basically because you have a huge advantage over them for no reason other than a dumb perk, and a piece of equipment that many people don't have or don't use. It's cheating, and that advantage should be eliminated. It's a twitch shooter that has traditionally catered to variety of play styles, and has slowly devolved more into one playstyle.

I love Battlefield too. Go to Battlefield if I want gunfights? This is a shooter. It's about gunfights largely. I have no idea how you could have thought "go to battlefield if you want gunfights" makes any sense at all.

If you're getting destroyed by someone that has the "loud footstep perk" then use the perk to silence your footsteps. It's not that hard. I rarely see people with that perk equipped, and I'm certainly not getting destroyed by anyone that's using it. So, it's not as big of a deal you're making it out to be.

COD is about gunfights? LOL. When it takes 3 or 4 bullets to kill (sometimes as low as 1 or 2) and you have random spawn points all over the maps there's just not going to be many gunfights, plain and simple regardless of the perks being used. The only COD "gunfights" I remember are the ones where both players killed each other at the same time, and that shit used to happen waaay too often and it would piss me off. I'm glad it almost never happens in BO3.

Yea, or when everyone runs to the flag they spawn on, and not run to B. I always just book it too B, and when I'm playing with a couple friends, one of them will run the flank and cover it, while I and my other friend take B or try to. I mean if you don't get B off the start, it allows the other team to setup, and makes it very hard to gain back B if the other team is half decent.
Key to that is that you're playing with a couple of friends.

Good luck with that playing solo on a consistent basis. Because if you have a high SPM and get matched with other high SPM players, guess what they do at the start of the match?

Head right to B.

I like the game plan, it can help you get a good foothold early on, but it is very hard to pull off solo, often what happens is on small maps you get rushed and ganged up on 5% before B is capped or on the larger maps you cap B and then die from being isolated by your team and again rushed by 2 or 3 players at once then they go on to cap B quickly.

If these hit detection issues with my game don't improve soon, I may as well just sell my copy because 9/10 games I play just depress me in how many unfair deaths there are. "Oh what's that, you shot nearly an entire magazine into an opponent? Sorry, doesn't count. But your opponent's two/three rounds from a sub-machine gun that kill you, yeh that counts."
Got any video examples?

Dead Silence isn't what it says on the tin, though. It just makes you quiet, it doesn't make you 100% silent to those people.

But yeah in most modes I don't come across people making about-turns because they heard people or listening out etc.

Well I play Ground War and usually only play with one friend, so only 2/9 on my team go to B, but lots of the time it works. But when I don't play with him or even do and I see 7 or 8/9 teammates run to the first flag, its frustrating because once the other team gets B, it makes it much easier to hold down the fort. I'm just saying there should only be 1 or 2 that go for the starting flag and the rest for B. On some maps the flag is right in front of the spawn which I don't mind people getting but some of the maps have the triangular flag pattern which they should be going for B.

Nobody expect it which is nice. Especially with ghost and hard wired you can sneak into sniper nests. I have the 5 kills with only the knife camp. I just need to kill one more person with their own weapon.

I just stole someone's RAPS care package. Ouch.

I shouldn't have to use a perk for someone using game external device and a dumb perk to gain a large and unfair advantage against me. It's dumb. It is every bit as big if a deal as I'm making it out to be. I never said I get destroyed by people using it, just that it's dumb, cheating, and a lame way to gain a huge advantage, that shouldn't exist.

Of course CoD is about gunfights. It's a shooter. The number of bullets it takes to kill is irrelevant. Most of my engagements are gunfights. Trade off kills? The only game I can remember having trade-off gunfight kills in is Black Ops 3, and only very rarely, and I've been playing online since CoD 4. The reasonings some people come up with here astound me. I have no idea how that's even a question. Map design and an unlimited sprint/movement system is what fucks up spawns. I constantly have gunfights with people.

I do just a knife, throwing axe, then ghost/sixth sense, hard wired, and fast gung ho/blast suppressor.

Hot damn, just got my gold knife. I've been trying to get stuff for the Prophet but I just don't like him. His specials just aren't good for my style I guess.

so can I not play the campaign offline?

I keep getting connection interrupted

You can. Select LAN and you can play it offline.

GOt the X1 version for 27 off an ad site. Just to play with some friends from time to time. Lets see if it's as rough as the beta was.

Hello GAF, finally got my account accepted.

Could someone tell me if single player is any good in this?

One thing my PS4 is missing is a FPS game, and I only play offline. Any other suggestions than CoD will be good too.

It's not that big of an advantage though. All perks give you some sort of advantage, that's the whole point of them. I have headphones and I've used the perk. It's only useful on a handful of maps, and it only really gives you an advantage against players that go solo run & gun. There are other perk combos that give you a bigger advantage, that's why I stopped using it.

A lot of people use headphones nowadays, if the perk was as OP as you're making it out to be, I think I'd be seeing a lot more people using it.

I'd get trade off kills every match in every cod since MW2. I barely played Ghosts because it was shit, and I don't remember too many in AW but the ttk was extremely short.

COD is a shooter, but it's a twitch shooter. It's basically whoever pulls the trigger first is going to get the kill in less than 1 second, and yes, the # of bullets it takes to kill matters. When the average "gunfight" last less than 1 second, I don't really consider that a gunfight. When most people think of COD, they're not thinking about the epic gunfights, because they almost never happen.

What is the benefit of playing the campaign online versus offline?

Well, if you play it offline, you don't have to go online, and you'll never be interrupted by server malfuncoots or general internet issues. But nothing you earn (namely camos, reticles and callsigns) will transfer over to multiplayer.

Thanks. I'd prefer to play offline but was worried that I'd miss out on items transferring to my multi character.

Diamond camo SMG's got.

These are dissapointing. I much prefer the over the top bling bling of Black Ops 2 Diamond camos.

Campaign sucks. Don't bother

Diamond is so damn ugly in this game.

I would have loved if you could add color to every part of a weapon. Have you tried a paintjob on the XM-53? It's hilarious and sad what they let you paint. Try it and you'll see.

I'm working on diamond SMG's as well. Got the AR's out of the way but that wasn't too bad. Also have the launchers done.

Finished all of the ground assault master challenges, which got me the cool looking animated calling card. I love these animated ones. Hoping there are some cool ones (if any) in the black market.

The last few days I've been playing horrible. I mostly shoot the guys first but for some reason I've always end up getting killed. Even when i look through the kill cam i can see their whole screen is turning really red.

Is it just me or everyone has those days?

So I seem to have a pretty bad audio bug here.

Whenever I'm using my headset (PS Gold), the audio mix is completely fucked. Gunshots and in-game effects are whisper quiet, but UI sounds are alarmingly loud. I've tried adjusting sliders in the options menu, but to no avail.

Any available fixes for this?

Well until someone earned the overpowered killstreaks/scorestreaks, and then could just chain them together.. that didn't involve a lot of gunfighting. BLOPS3 has more gunplay because the scorestreaks aren't an automatic game over for the team who didn't earn any. I actually remember saying this to a friend during the beta, on how there seems to be a lot more gun to gun action than previous CoDs.

You still had to shoot people to get kill streaks? MW2 was a mess in that regard but the gun on gun gameplay was great.

yeah, looking back MW2 and other early era versions seem awfully spammy, especially when you think about all the noob tubing, ac130'ing, etc

even though i adored MW2, i don't miss it

starting to use rifles a bit, working on camos and what not, my gameplay slows down a fair amount whenever i do

Decided to run Dead Silence the whole time this time around and I actually like it especially since I don't hear my own footsteps anymore.

Also, can't believe I'm considering sniper rifles for the calling card soon.. lol I was never a sniping person until I tried it in SWBF.

I'm probably going to do it after I get my SMGs kills calling card since I already did that with ARs and Shotguns. If I fail miserably at sniping, it will be LMGs for a while I guess.

I love Dead Silence as I can't stand hearing my own footsteps but it seems to me like all the best perks are in the third slot. Tac Mask is a must for Dom as being stunned in this game is unbearable, Awareness is really powerful with a decent headset and Blast Suppressor seems more useful at keeping you off the map than Ghost. I even run Engineer on my shoot-shit-down class. Decisions, decisions.

Edit: Just realised this thread has been moved to community. I wondered why I hadn't seen it in a while.

Just got the 2 double kills after rejacking. Not too bad, I got one in one game, and then a few games later I got 2 in the same game; only need 2 though. HC FFA is the way to do it. Just down yourself with a nade.

I run DS+TM on most my builds now. Ran Blast Suppressor, TM, and Awareness on my previous prestige. While I liked Awareness, I didn't like that playstyle all that much because sometimes I would be in PT chat or not wanting to wait around the corner all that much. On the other hand, I want to keep using Blast Suppressor, but the utility of TM and DS is just too good right now.

Yeah, Engineer, Hard-Wired, and Blind Eye on one build is great. I personally wish I could use Scavenger a lot more often because it makes getting points off my throwables so much easier for the calling cards.

Its going to be impossible for me to get the a double killing using vision pulse. I mean I can barely get one with it as it is.

Use it when you know you are near a bunch of enemies, right before you round a corner

If you use it as a tag and bag system more so than a wallhack you'll get it done faster

Essentially, don't use it to find the enemies, use it when you know where the enemies are

I was in the throes of that depression as well but I came back and got it. I didn't mess around with finding the best mode or anything. Just did TDM and eventually found the right spot. I think the best way is to find camping spots. Sometimes there's multiple snipers in the cross-map sniper spots on maps like Fringe or Infection. Other specialist moves are super easy to get the armor for. Like the Seraph's combat focus or the Battery's kinetic armor.

Pretty much all the videos of your are impressive. You made it seems so easy lol.

How you manage to kill someone from long range with a pharo? I could never get away with that lol
Haha thanks man!

I use it a lot, and it just comes natural. AR still have an advantage for sure, but the pharo is pretty accurate itself, and the grip helps. It's good enough that I can attempt medium to long range kills, being bursts I feel also helps with accuracy.

I have five 15 minute 2XP zombie codes that I'm not going to use as I have no interest in zombies - if you want them just quote to see, and if you're not going to take them all just post which one(s) you used - enjoy :)
