I think for the next iteration I'd rather that the specialists become the new 'hook' and that they go back to old school movement. I realize that the odds of this are very very slim but I think the franchise would be better served with some kind of a customizable specialist loadout and just retire the spazzy wall running stuff.

Next game Modern Warfare remastered.

Host migration. Full HD. Complete with MW2 maps as well (but not any other MW2 related stuff like kill streaks etc).

That's my dream anyway!

Movement is here to stay. Expecting anything else is foolish.

Agree on the movement part. I think the specialists would need an overhaul of they're going to stay. Make them like support streaks, where the amount of kills/points earned don't reset if you die, and you'd need to hit a certain amount of kills, or score streak of whatever to be able to get the specialist weapon or ability.

Instead of garbage like some dude who is 4-19 getting a Scythe and killing me almost instantly with it halfway across the map, when I'm one kill or so off of my top killstreak.

Specialists are worse than Deathstreaks in their current form. They're way more powerful (mostly), but this crappiness is lessened because both bad AND good players get them, and the good players can get them a bit faster through performing well. I think that's why they haven't been nearly as complained about.

Not necessarily. Plenty of people dislike it. Time will tell.

Personally, I feel that it's done quite well. The wallrunning, sliding, and boosting isn't nearly as crazy as the movement in Advanced Warfare. Although I understand how the new movement makes Nuketown A LOT different, I feel that's the only map that the movement can prove to be detrimental at times (I don't find Combine to be as bad as people say, all you really need is map knowledge to traverse it safely).

I've made lots of posts in this thread about it. It's fun to use the system. But it harms and lessens the depth of the game, and devolves it more into a run and gun centric game, while lessening the ability to be effective with other styles.

It makes it less tactical, and more mindless. People are all over the map because they can get around so easily. It fucks up spawns, causes spawn kills, and does plenty more. Deaths matter less because people can get right back in faster than ever. It's less about positioning and good gunfights and more about sprinting and flanking and shooting people in the back. Want to snipe? Good luck, because someone can float into the window of the building you're in and spray you in the face with a Vesper, and there isn't too much you can do about it. That sort of shit sucks.

Is it an improvement over advanced warfare? Absolutely. Is it good for the game? I'm my opinion, absolutely not, and that it harms and lessens the depth of the game.

Combine is an enormous clusterfuck. The movement affects all maps badly because of the reasons I've mentioned.

If you remove the movement people will just see it as a step back. No way are they going back to what they had before AW.
They'll do whatever people respond to, probably. The thrust jump is already a step back from the Exo-jumps. It's a very nerfed version of it.

Do I think it'll happen? I have no idea. But I don't know if people will see it as a step back, as opposed to a step forward by realizing it wasn't working, and needed to be gotten rid of.

Hmm...perhaps the reason that Advanced Warfare created the system of fast-paced movement was to lessen the amount of camping? Obviously, it will always exist, but in the games before AW, it would be quite annoying when people would just stay inside a building with one/two entrances.

It's just an observation that I've seen. Especially since BO3 tends to have locations that can be entered from multiple different areas.

Seriously, I agree. The changes they made to the map, plus unlimited sprint, the movement system, and other changes to the game in general make it ridiculously stupid.

The Hijacked remake will probably be ridiculously stupid as well. Just like Combine is ridiculously stupid.
Don't like small maps huh?

I dont have a problem with those maps, and I can't wait for the remake of hijacked

There's a difference between "camping" and defensive gameplay, even though most people make no distinction between the two, and simply whine about "camping" any time someone plays a defensive style.

Just like playing an intelligent run and gun style is different from spazzing around the map with SMG's like most people do.

People SHOULD be able to lock down choke points and areas with snipers and LMG's. It's always been a part of CoD until recent games. Can't outshoot them? Too bad. In the past there were always ways to deal with them, but they took more tactics and skill.

Now the game wants to cut that out and make it as thoughtless as possible and gear the game towards people who want to flail around the map with little thought, and then complain about the "camper" who is playing an overwatch role in a building by the B flag on domination, who killed them. Why outshoot or outsmart them when they can simplify it by just being able to float into the window, and have a perk system/movement system, and map design that is geared more towards them?

As I said, these things, the movement system and others devolve the game more and more into one playstyle, when not everyone wants to play that way.

Actually I love small maps! I loved Nuketown in Black Ops 1, and 2. I loved Firing range, Summit, and their remakes in black Ops 1, and 2 as well.

I love Hijacked as well.

But the movement system, changes to the maps themselves, and other things makes them ridiculously stupid to play on.

You're quite right about that. However, it's those who whine that are heard the most and thus bring changes to the game (regardless of whether or not the changes are considered beneficial by the majority).

Exactly. And it makes me really sad. I actually like playing with SMG's sometimes, and playing that run and gun playstyle. I want a game that's balanced; not one that is catered to one playstyle, taking away from the depth of the game in the process.

I think the movement works just fine actually

This is my dream as well. I'm enjoying BO3 but my heart aches when I think about playing on maps like Overgrown. This game is fine but it isn't special at all. Just spastic running and gunning on maps that ultimately mostly feel the same.

Speaking of anti-scorestreak set ups, does anyone use the combination of blind eye, cold blooded, scavenger, engineer, the Blackcell launcher, and two EMP grenades in order to be a really effective scorestreak destroyer?

Also, you can use Reaper's Scythe to destroy the whole carpet bomb of rolling thunder drones. Considering destroying one is around 150 score, destroying the whole carpet bomb can earn you a RAPS or more quite easily (this was posted a while before, but I'm reminding anyone who may be new).

Edit: Does anyone know if using Fast Hands + Black Hat causes you to hack faster (since Fast Hands allows you to use equipment faster)?
Rolling Thunder was buffed to reduce damage taken to it, so that may require a bit more effort, or not get you the same score - not seen it retested since it was buffed, might still be a huge score fest!

I have an anti-scorestreak class, but I only use it when my team is diabolical and scorestreaks are being spammed as a result or is a Cerberus or Hardened Sentry are called in as depending on where the person placed them they can be quite tricky to destroy without the counter perk.

Launcher on all classes, though.

And no it doesn't, Fast Hands just means you pull out the scanner quicker you don't get a hacking speed boost.

I wouldn't play any COD that doesnt have some kind of boost jump and wall running system. It's like when double jump came along, everyone game had to have it because it just made every game that had it better.

I dont want to play games as a puny human that cant jump and can only move really slowly and you've got to play the game really slowly and whomever spots first wins. That wouldn't be that fun to watch let alone play.

Suppresor got a buff in the last patch. As someone who always used one in Black Ops 2, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I think it as a welcome change of pace basically never seeing them in game.

ARs range is now decreased by 35% except for the KN-44 which is decreased by 23%
SMGs range is now decreased by 23%
Pistols range is now decreased by 23%
The rest of the classes haven't changed

Still seems too much on ARs. Don't think its ever been that high for ARs.

I think I'm so used to not using suppressors in this game, that i'll just never use them.

Ugh, getting 10 long shot medals for every assault rifle is the worst thing. The only way I can consistently get that is by camping in a sniper nest and hoping that the other player does not have a sniper or LMG which do long distances far better.

Everywhere else it's like "oh, that was not long enough".

I find those pretty easy to get in Hardcore modes with a thermal scope. Hunted in particular has a bunch of long sightlines.

Finally got dark matter camo today. Feels good to be able to play normally again.
Congrats, how long did it take you? I'm still trying to get it myself.

Ghost being broken makes sniping in hardcore such a hard thing. Once the UAV is up you'll automatically have 3 people coming at you from three angles when you've got a slow firing weapon and they all have spray and pray smg's that kill in one bullet :(

Are you moving though?

I am kinda pissed that some of the challenges are still broken for me. Sentry kills is basically stuck still launch at 9/10 kills despite me having way more than that since then. Fix this Treyarch!

I'm kind of sour right now. Just bought the game, go to install and boom. Stops at 4%. Disc may be damaged or dirty. (Xbox One) apparently this is a common problem and I have to return the disc.

Getting kicked from hardcore because planks keep walking in front of you when you're already firing is so annoying, especially when you put a lot of effort into being in a winning position!

Are these from care packages? If they are, I think you have to spend the unlock token on it.

Ever since I prestieged this morning, I suddenly got really good. Couple that with a Double XP weekend, and now I am at level 32 after a few hours.

Yayyyy

Why is it that every master prestige that I see uses the M8A7? I mean, I honestly don't find it to be that good at all unless you're using it at really long ranges.
