Call of Duty: Black Ops III |OT| No Content For Old Gen

Suppresor got a buff in the last patch. As someone who always used one in Black Ops 2, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I think it as a welcome change of pace basically never seeing them in game.

ARs range is now decreased by 35% except for the KN-44 which is decreased by 23%
SMGs range is now decreased by 23%
Pistols range is now decreased by 23%
The rest of the classes haven't changed

You still see players death symbols pop up, so you can pinpoint direction, and you can still hear a gun without a silencer even without headphones. As long as I'm aware, silencers have never really been a big issue to me.

I'm taking up the task of trying to play and master AR's in this game and find a niche they fit, rather than using them like SMG's with longer engagement distances ( which doesn't work well) and I'm having fun trying. It seems best to use them as mid range support weapons, which means backing up and covering my teammates, rather than lone wolfing and flanking like I usually do. I actually feel like I'm helping my teammates play better this way, rather than trying to carry them, since everybody feels like rushing while not generally being aware of anything that's not in front of them. It's a little uncomfortable to play this way, since I kinda move at the whim of the team and where they generally want to go, but I'm starting to prefer playing this way.

Agree on the movement part. I think the specialists would need an overhaul of they're going to stay. Make them like support streaks, where the amount of kills/points earned don't reset if you die, and you'd need to hit a certain amount of kills, or score streak of whatever to be able to get the specialist weapon or ability.

Instead of garbage like some dude who is 4-19 getting a Scythe and killing me almost instantly with it halfway across the map, when I'm one kill or so off of my top killstreak.

Specialists are worse than Deathstreaks in their current form. They're way more powerful (mostly), but this crappiness is lessened because both bad AND good players get them, and the good players can get them a bit faster through performing well. I think that's why they haven't been nearly as complained about.

I think a re tooled specialist system could be good. I'd like if they made certain specialists just naturally have bonuses for certain weapons or killstreaks etc. For example if you ran with a tanky specialist they would get bonus stability or damage across the whole LMG class. Shit like that. I think with perks being as tame as they are just play more to the customization aspect of CoD which i think most of us like.
 
Friendly reminder that you can use the Dart (and it's missiles) and a big Hellstorm missile (preferably moving slowly for more accuracy) to effectively take out enemy scorestreaks easily/instantaneously. I know for a fact a single Hellstorm and a Dart can take down a Wraith.

Wow GG! Watched the whole video and I´m thinking: Is bumper jumper now essential to be competitive?

I mean you jump right before or at the most gunfights. I´m not jumping that much and still get a lot of very good games but I´m thinking about switching to bumper jumper and start jumping all over the place.

What do you guys think about jumping in firefights?

I'm using bumper jumper tactical. That way not only is it easier to jump, but also to slide.

Now Checked and Sentry Gun is definitely unlocked. I had a game in which I got like 10 kills with it. Challenge still stuck at 9/10.

Edit: Yup, in the barracks the kill count the is way higher than what the challenge is showing.

What is bumper jumper? Is it adding the jump button to the L1 or R1 button?

Yes, L1 will be "jump" and X will be "throw tactical". You can better aim and jump together with this setup.

I wanna say a couple of weeks. A lot of the ARs and smgs were well on the way to 100 headshots before I started.

HC FFA on Combine is your friend for headshots. And safe guard for the rest I'd say. Good luck.

Ah I haven't tried FFA yet, thanks. I'm getting like 1-2 gold camos a day at the moment. Annoying but doable at least..

Oh dear god why buff the silencers!?!!

It was actually nice to not have everyone run around with silencers like in Advanced Warfare. God that was terrible.

They have also buffed the range on ARs. Again, why? I really dont like when developers nerf weapons post game. I can understand nerfing broken shit like shotguns in Destiny or quickscoping snipers in BLOPS 2 (which never got nerfed btw), but the game is perfect the way it is. ARs beat SMGs in range battles, LMGs beat ARs longer range, and snipers have the best range. That's good enough.

Now everyone is going to be running around with that stupid sniper.

Ugh, getting 10 long shot medals for every assault rifle is the worst thing. The only way I can consistently get that is by camping in a sniper nest and hoping that the other player does not have a sniper or LMG which do long distances far better.

Everywhere else it's like "oh, that was not long enough".
Like someone else said, play hardcore and use the thermal scope. I got like 11 longshot medals in one game on Fringe lol.

Pretty much everything in Hardcore is a 2 shot kill. Headshots are one shot as well. or at least it felt like one shot.

I ran into two different Prestige Masters last night. Both had Dark Matter camo and Hero gear on their specialist...crazy.

lol this is me for the last two weeks since the Double XP weekend. For some reason, some of the ARs in the game just dont get me headshots. The HVAK is the worst. It's one of my favorite ARs in the game but after 1200 kills, I was still sitting at 80 headshots. Compare that to my M837 headshots, 224 in 1200 kills. Shieva 130 headshots in only 500 kills. The ICR is even worse because it has no recoil.

However, last night, I decided to set my crosshairs just a tiny bit higher than i usually do. i have actually tried it before to no success, but this time, I adjusted it just a tiny bit and got 10 headshots on that rooftop map.... i forget what its called.

I only have the ICR and the XR2 left, and I am almost looking forward to trying them out tonight.

Yeah 5 bloodthirstys. They were the very last to do for me. Safeguard/combine/smokes/tracker/vision pulse and slide knifing helped me get them.

Most likely to decrease the effect on range. Although I'm curious by how much.
ARs used to be a 75% decrease, now they are a 35% decrease (KN-44 is a 23% decrease)

SMGs used to be a 40% decrease, now a 23% decrease

Pistols used to be a 40% decrease, now a 23% decrease

LMGs, Shotguns and snipers remain unchanged at 90%, 30%, and 0% respectively
