Really? One has black spots and the other, yellow? Treyarch, I love you but you're better than this. Such a waste, IMO.
 
Playing chaos hard point - use haymaker with laser sight, fast mags, extended mags, and long barrel.

When the point is in one of the houses you just fire continuously into one of the doorways. It's hilarious.

OMG. The Ripper is fucking amazing. When I first tried it at launch I didnt know you had to activate it before you can strike. Obviously, I couldnt get a single kill.

Tried it again last night, and now I already have 700 kills with the class in less than two days.

Here is a 3 min highlight reel of me having easily my best TDM round. 35-4 with like 10 ripper kills.

And yes, that's the Vesper absolutely melting people at close range. Man, this game. This fucking game. So many incredible weapons and abilities. I really didnt think Treyarch could top Blops 2 but they have done it.

I've been wanting to use that, does his weapon activates automatically when you use melee(technically replacing gun butt)?
Then depletes from that first kill. Or do you have to activate it first?

Guys Im in love with my Gorgon setup. Started using the shotgun as secondary because the pistols are too weak (which is good because they should e finishers). Though Id have loved a gun like the deagle in COD4.

Ive become confident enough to run uav > wraith > raps

Sometimes i use combat focus for a boost.

Talon is too unreliable as it can get shot down quick. Wraith is much better. RAPs is good.

Im too scared to run high aerial streaks because they get shot down so fast, but I love the wraith's stealth and how lethal it is

Presumably an engineer class would wreck it anyway. Some people love taking down those aerial streaks

The bomber sucks. Too slow. And the bombs can be destroyed before they land. I wish it was a stealth bomber instead.

Also, nothing has ever come close to the fear the AC130 put in me. The mothership looked incredible, but ive yet to see it in action

So, has there been a stealth-patch for the silencers not having a damage-reduction? I have a Vesper and KUDA class. Both of them have silencers.

With the Kuda I noticed that there was no damage reduction when using a silencer on it. However, with the recent patch it seems to do way less damage then it did before?

Also, I need GAF to decide. I'm using the Vesper + Silencer. Usually go unnoticed when taking out enemies. However, I feel like (again, recent patch blabla) the silencer actually limits the amount of kills I can make. Does a silencer really affect a weapon that much now? Im thinking of running around without it.


The only SMG that is great WITH a silencer is the Pharaoh.

The Kuda always had reduction with a silencer, so you were mistaken in that.

They recently reduced the penalty for suppressors, so the effect is actually the total opposite of what you've noticed :p Certain guns may have had less reduction though, can't recall what they all were. I know it made it a lot more viable on ARs.

I have the weirdest games sometimes. We're winning by over 50 points on hardpoint then suddenly it's like the enemies released a fear toxin, and eveyone on the team huddles together near the spawn and stops attacking so the other team wins.

It is amazing how few people have launchers. I always carry one and it seems I am the only one shooting down air streaks. It is so frustrating.

I currently have very few classes with a launcher, but that is just because I am going for camo unlocks. Usually Everything except my sniper and SMG class have launchers. They are just way too useful.

Meh, I'll rather focus on the ground

With ghosts I don't worry about UAVs

And usually if there are streaks in the air they are mine lol

On the flip side, I actually think most people do carry launchers

As one of the things about this game is that people take off air streaks too fast

The only thing that frustrates me is when my team just becomes wraith fodder. It's like, three shots and it dies. If half of us fired one rocket the thing goes down in literally a second or two. Instead people just keep spawning and dieing and giving the dude more score streak fuel.

That being said 90% of the time air support is up there it isn't the other teams.

Meh you get used to it, to the point where I will just ignore those medals and such popping up.
I wish I could turn off award popups in the menu like I can in Battlefield.

It is really distracting and unnecessary. Plus I really hate how this game has individualized players to a ridiculous degree. Maybe I just can't cope with the cognitive dissonance that I'm playing someone playing a game and that's why there isn't any distinction between teams or consequences for anything. I don't know, it just feels too "gamey", if that is a succinct way to describe it.

Trying to get the rapid kill's with Kinetic Armor on for the last Battery gear unlock is proving a bit tricky. Doesn't help that I dislike Kinetic Armor and find it somewhat underwhelming so I assume a defeatist mindset from the word go, any suggestions how to make acquiring this less painful ? Jumped into HC Domination and that seems a better place.

What attachments are you using with the Gorgon? I like the gun, but ADS is really slow and i lose every single battle when I run into someone. it's good as a range option, but at the moment the Christmas noobs cannot hold down one of the three lanes which means I constantly get flanked.

I have been going on some crazy Merciless streaks lately so it should be good enough for a Wraith and Raps combo. They have buffed the wraith a ton and I now get 5-10 kills with it every time. It's ridiculously lethal on Redwood. lol

Lightning strike has been buffed so I get at least one kill with it now but Hellstorm, Rolling Thunder and lightning strikes all suck hard in TDM.

It's actually pretty easy on smaller maps. Just go to chokepoints and hope for the best. I loved using it because I run and gun and most of the times find myself in enemy spawn surrounded by multiple enemies.

I actually uploaded a video last week on my HVK no attachments run, and realized that I got the final rapid kill with it in that round. I have already marked the time when I get it.

Yeah. I find that ability so easy to get kills. Perfect for rushing

Cheers, I'll take a look at it later. I realised playing HC was a bad idea as I got kicked pretty fast due to accidentally shooting at my team mates who stood in my line of fire... or it could be the Vodka having something to do with it... regardless I'll try and work on it. It's far from impossible though, just a pain in the neck I find.

You play on consoles or PC ? I play on PC and find that people generally aim higher thus headshots occur more frequently ( this is me pulling stuff out of my arse btw, console players are just as able to aim high I should imagine and I haven't tried blops 3 on consoles ).

The thing I personally dislike about Kinetic Armor is that not only is it quite situational but also I feel it should last a little bit longer. I suppose with experience you'll learn when to use it but in my infinite noobness I find popping it at wrong times which is either too soon and it runs out when I get into a firefight or alternatively too late where I'm spamming my special button even though I'm already dead. Also this brings me back to the prior comment about headshots where you might pop it at the right time and end up getting headshotted.

Long story short, I think the hate for Kinetic comes from the fact that its pretty easy to waste but like with many things, its most certainly very effective at the right hands.

I like it as well. Works also well with all kinds of classes.

You can activate it for the first kill. Once you have the meter full any target that you can rip will have a little x on it and make a little noise then you can hit the activation buttons (LB/RB in my case) to rip. The coolest part is you can keep using LB/RB until the meter is empty. I run tactical layout so I'd have to take my thumb off for B but with ripper I can melee non-stop just using LB/RB. It's awesome!

Nice game dude! You can actually lunge on the activation as long as you're in range.

Stick with gorgon, engage in longe range and pre Ads corners.

I am using the adjustable scope. I swear flinch feels less troublesome when Im dueling with some AR user across the map


I am also using grip and I think I was using the attachment that helps you ads faster, but then I dropped it

I use the argus secondary when I have to get close

lol awesome killstreak at the end. God i love that lunge so much. treyarch has done a remarkable job making these special abilities kills feel so damn satisfying. The crunch sound effect, the animation of throat slitting, the way people just get their arms and limbs eaten off when they run into hive pods, the tempest, sparrow and annihilator death animations are all just so masterfully animated.

I use R1 to shoot which means I have to press L2 and R2 to get the first kill, and that just takes way too long. I will give it another shot though.

Combine is the new nuketown and hijacked. Seems to me the majority of the players who like black ops love smaller maps. It is just a faced paced map and you never go long without seeing anybody so there is never much downtime on that map.

I personalty almost always vote for it because I am always doing one challenge or another and it makes it easier completing those challenges when I don't have to go far to see an enemy. (as opposed to playing a bigger map where it takes longer to find people)

Like others have said, its mostly because its a small map. But there is bug that lets people select it more than twice. In BLOPS 2, they would only let you select the previous map once. Here I keep playing the same damn map like 3-4 times over and over again until i quit out of the lobby.

Fringe gets picked a lot too.

Look at their Awakening trailer. One of the maps will supposedly bring back a classic CoD feel.

I just got this game a couple of days ago. I have no desire to play the nuketown map. If anyone wants the code, it's up for grabs.
