Just wanted to comment on this after watching it and other videos in this guy's channel.
- He knows his stuff and has great methodology for determining real latency.
- He presents all the info in an organized easy to understand manner which is not easy.
- Black Ops III's 'net code' is surprisingly poor compared to CS:GO and BF4. I'm surprised by the 20 Hz tick rate for receiving updates in a game such as this.
- Console players experience higher latency than the charts indicate because he was testing on PC @ 144 Hz
- The lag compensation for high ping players is far too generous in BLOPS3. I suspect it's generous because they can get away with allowing clients further from the servers to play and have some semblance of smooth play.
- I suspect all the above are driven by dedicated server costs which is a shame.
- I feel for players in markets that don't have a nearby datacenter for dedicated servers.
