They do. I am actually surprised they have not nerffed the ripper. But overall it's tough getting the 6 kill challenges with the weapons. You only have your specialist ability thee times a game Much of it is just dumb luck. IE playing on a smaller map and having the enemies lined up, not getting shot and killed within 5 seconds.

Based off of some hints given to me, may I suggest overdrive and hardpoint or safeguard? Or ground war version of safeguard?

Seems to let you get your specialist ability once a round or more if you wreck, and since you can spread the 6 kills out over the rounds (most safeguard games go 4 rounds if teams are somewhat even) it makes it a bit easier?

I say this having only just unlocked hero gear and only unlocked ruin's helmet.

Yeah I have gotten my 4 six kill games with the gravity spikes in Domination and safeguard so that is no doubt the best way. The ripper does not matter really which mode, same with the Firebreak and his heat wave.

What is making this such a grind is that I am going for the hero armor as well as trying to get the LMG diamond at the same time. I should probably just do one at a time because using LMG aren't necessarily the best way to build up your specialist meter.

Yea, I'd say do either/or.

Oddly enough, I got my dredge gold but not any of the other LMGs yet.

I am two bloodthirstys away from getting the BRM gold. I have the dingo gold. Next up is the Gorgon. It's going to be tough getting head shots with the Gorgon because I only have two hitmarkes to get a headshot. You have to be super accurate.

Uniform I needed and the only melee weapon I wanted from the same chest.

Kinda pissed I spent $80 on points over a couple weeks and get absolutely nothing,
2x cryptokeys weekend and I get literally everything I want and need besides the MP-40.

I'll defo sign this, for a while I was trying the weapon challenges and hero armor at the same time but quickly learned that sticking to one or the other is the best way to do it so atm I'm focusing solely on the Dark Matter grind and then leaving the armor grind when I'm done with DM if I can be bothered, I think the gold armor looks a bit tacky anyways.

I tried going for the Hero armor but then I realized how much I rely on the Ripper to save me from unexpected situations and for getting me a ton of score in a matter of seconds. By comparison, all the other weapons charge much slower, are depleted completely if killed with them, and aren't as useful in saving yourself (since they have animations for equipping them) or racking up score (since they usually have ammo concerns, and only give 125 points per kill while the Ripper gives 150. If used in a good situation, you can clear a room of enemies with just the Ripper). The abilities are also not as useful considering they don't really help you perform better except for maybe combat focus.

I wouldn't mind playing specialits if it wasn't for the fact I'm not that good and I feel like I rarely use them to their potential.
Annihilator is really fun and deadly but it's potentially useless, so there's really no benefit going for it over the Ripper.
I also really like Gravity Spikes just because of the AoE and potential of changing the game with a bunch of kills at once.

I have 12 wins over losses after being down like 30 or 40 losses recently so I'm steadily getting better, but I had an awful strech of games recently where I fed and played horribly while getting frustrated :s There's still a ton of room for improvement but I'm getting there. Still need to get rid out of a bunch of bad habits that get me killed for no reason

Exactly, everything can prove useful in certain situations I suppose. Even then, I still feel that the Ripper blows everything out of the water and is by far the best choice thanks to its simplicity and effectiveness, as well as the fact that it can be obtained 10+ times a game. That's why I can't go for hero armor, I always think I can be doing so much more if I had the Ripper.

Not bad! Slow and steady wins the race. I'm glad you're improving. There will always be people who are better than you and will frustrate you (regardless of whether it's your fault or the fault of your teammates), but that's okay. However, you can always reduce the amount of those who're better than you through hard work and an effort to do better. What are some of your bad habits that need to be changed?

Being impatient is definitely my number one flaw right now.
I can't count how many times I died because I looked at the enemy spwan point instead of waiting for them to pass me or went into a corridor instead of waiting at cover when I know someone is coming towards me

That took me a while too, but trust me when I say that patience is so worth it. I always do my best to wait until the best moment, attacking with a silencer from behind, the sides, or behind cover. The only time I really take down multiple enemies is when I'm in a position in which the enemies won't expect me (preferably behind cover). The LAST thing you want is to rush blindly (into a spawn is worse) and be attacked from multiple angles (while in the open is worse). If that happens you aren't really helping your team.

400 keys earned, not ran them through the bullshit machine yet. Usually they add new content a few days after people have spent their loot. Cracking weekends progress though, finally got the KRM shotgun 4x bloodthirsties i needed, my god what a shit gun. Also the MR6 all done, Gordon headshots done, Locus bloodthirsties done, both launchers fully diamonded and 2 star levelled. Now im on to Brecci bloodthirsties, haymaker headshots, fun times. Im sure thats all fascinating to no one, but I enjoyed typing it.

That's 13 rare chests. I opened about 7 or 8 this weekend and didn't get shit. Hopefully you have better luck. Also I believe that at some point the weapons will be given away. Problem is it may not be until COD space ops is out.

I found the KRM better than the Brecci and the Haymaker. At least the KRM can be a one shot kill where the Brecci is 2 and the haymaker is like 5 shots. Haymaker is a complete POS gun. Unless you surprise someone you will almost always get overpowered even if you hit the person 3 or 4 times first. I am embarrassed to admit that I lost to someone with fists while I was using the haymaker.

(Side note why is it 5 shots from the haymaker to kill someone yet fists are just 2 hits?)

I had 200 from last week also (earned, ive never paid) so I've got aroun 650 in my account at the moment, I'm gona wait though, I'm sure they'll add a load of stuff when the map pack 2 drops.

I play hardcore, always, and the KRM would still miss or do nothing from 6 yards away, and its so clunky even with rapid fire. Took me ages to do it, camped like a bitch indoors on Breach.

The haymaker actually gives me hitmarkers sometimes on hardcore, im dead serious. Its so bad, headshots from shotguns is a horrible grind due to random bullet spread. I want those little funny noise double crossbow things.

Haymaker spreads a series of pellets, enough pellets hit your target and target dies, fire from distance and only a few pellets hit which = irritant. As for the fists... Most or all specialists wear robo fists ie. cybernetic implants that can punch harder than you and me put together.

Thats my logic and I'm sticking to it! Alternatively... Magic.

LOL that's amazing about the haymaker. I guess the haymaker was legit until it was, as always, nerfed. There is no reason at all to use this gun unless you're going to diamond. Have to give you credit for stockpiling keys. The second I get 30 it burns a hole in my pockets and I have to spend it.

Except for Spectre, who's the only character that doesn't use any cybernetic enhancements.

Also, every shotgun does base damage and the amount of pellets you hit is just bonus damage. The KRM does 50 base damage, meaning you're guaranteed to always kill in two hit markers (your pellet accuracy is what leads to one shot kills). I believe with the Brecci it's a guaranteed kill within 2-3 hits and the Haymaker is within 3-5 hits. The Argus is guaranteed to kill in one hit marker provided you're aiming down the sights and not using long barrel.

Argus is dumb because it should be a slug with that amount of range and accuracy,

Haymaker is 4 shots at long distances, 3 at close. It's strengths are range, clip size, and being the most forgiving if you miss a shot. It's not quite as straightforward to use successfully as the KRM or Brecci though.

Had a fairly productive weekend. Managed to finally get 5/5 Power Cores done. I only have to get a Raps before it deploys anything for the Nyan Cat emblem. I tried last night for a bit to get it done with Tempest, but it is quite annoying to get it done. I was close a few times, but no cigar.

I got lucky and pulled the HG 40 out of a rare case. Well, maybe lucky is overstating since it is a fairly average weapon. I'm sure it may be better once I can get some attachments unlocked.

Managed to hit Prestige 8, Rank 50; almost Prestige 9. Another Double XP weekend and I'll be getting close to Master Prestige. I'd be quite happy for that since this is my first CoD since BO1.

I got it with the scythe, but I think that was before they buffed the deploy ship's armor. Tried again recently and it was taking a lot of hits without fire. Someone ended up catching me before I could do the deed.

Yeah, the Tempest does good damage to it quick. I could always get it down, but not before 3-4 got deployed. It's a pain because the map has a huge factor in the ability to get it done. I would hear it called in and it would come in an area of the map that was above a building or behind cover which delayed getting shots off. I regret not trying to do it before it was buffed.

If a teammate was getting a rocket or two off as soon as it appeared it would be done fairly easy. Too bad most people are bad about shooting at air scorestreaks.

On the positive, at least the Power Core part is done and Raps are fairly common so it is a matter of time/luck.

Dude, it's simple. Just use a care package, engineer, and a power core. Get your power core, and wait to see if the enemies get the streak. The care package and engineer might help you get it from a package for them to steal.

You know, as much as I want to see boots on the ground return for CoD, the movement system in BO3 just makes competitive so much fun to watch for me. It's great when you see people use the movement nearly perfectly to get into advantageous positions, or just flow across the map.

I mean, Uplink itself doesn't really work without the ability to jump high.

Trying to finish off the gold camo for the Pharo, which is sort of a streaky gun for me. Either I'm really ripping people up or I'm a headless chicken.

Tonight was not a good night even though I'm only 2 Bloodthirsty's away from the Gold. I had multiple games where the enemy team's top player was in the 40's for kill count.

This one guy went like 52-7 on Hunted.

Dude.

You have won Black Ops 3 Team Deathmatch. You won it.

Please go play something else so I never have to experience that again.

If I recall correctly, my highest in TDM was 83-4 (don't ask, I had to one man army my way through it but thankfully the enemy wasn't dreadfully skilled either).

Dude, you never join me when I invite you :'( I know you're a TDM guy but we can still have good games

I though being away for 2 months would slow me, back to my old 13-25 kills it's like riding a bike. The usual codblops Gaf still at it?

Been going for Hero armour unlocks and it has been enjoyable trying out all the different abilities. Didn't realize how amazing the Ripper was and it has been a lot of fun using it, reminds me of the old commando knife lunge from MW2. Well it was enjoyable until I got to Rejack, never used it before and it's getting me quite ragey.

BTW anyone else on Xbone finding this game very glitchy? constant failed host migrations, games with dreadful hit detection, hard locks etc? The other day I even got put into a game on Skyjacked and I don't even own the DLC...

I had it on xbone while my ps4 was broken and yeah, its not good. The frame rate takes hits when you get really close up kills and the blood sprays, its not as smooth, and the textures are super blurry compared to ps4. Not even with the 900p and below scaling, they are blurrier on top of that.

That DLC map you got was a free weekend for non season pass owners, it was deliberate.

Yeah I did think there might've been a promotion but I only got one of the new maps once in quite a few hours of playing over the weekend so I assumed it was a glitch.

Got back to this, whats the prefered gun nowadays?

Im beasting with the pharo, any other ones Im not aware are good?

The standard stuff still, unless you left before the Vesper got nerfed.

VMP, Kuda for SMGs. Only real turd is the Weevil, and the Vesper kicks in every direction now past about 10 feet.

The M8A7 is still on top, but honestly the ARs are pretty well balanced. The ICR got a couple of buffs and is a laser beam now.

I know I keep saying hardcore..but..yup..hardcore. Hit a head and its a kill, no questions asked. You earn quickdraw fast and fastmags which help. By the time youve got thermal sight and rapid fire its easy, I got my bloodthirsties in about an hour by bridge camping fringe again. If you had all attachments already from a 2x weapon xp weekend, its a cinch. Otherwise, just level it up til you get rapid fire and youre laughing by then. Mines all done, onto the final LMG

I do have quickdraw and it helps. I will try hardcore tonight and see how that goes. I have 15 headshots, so that's something I guess lol.

rapid fire / fast mags / extended mags are the real winners, play long maps like infection and fringe, tuck yourself into a corner and just aim down the road. I kept my horizontal sensitivity at 4 and vertical at 2 so I was nice and steady on head level aiming.

Reload cancelling to finish a reload early definitely helps for LMGs. Not as easy on hardcore unless you have the point where your loaded ammo restocks memorized well enough.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, you can double tap the switch weapon button to cancel a reload, and if you cancel it at the point in a reload animation where the magazine becomes full again, it lets you skip a bit of the animation at the end and essentially reload faster. It gets even faster with fast mags, and it also helps to have fast hands so you can switch weapons faster, and thus perform the cancel faster with heavier weapons. Using that system was pretty much mandatory to do well with a non dual-wielded Marshal 16.
