Wait a trophy system can kill teammates?

if they are too close to it in HC game type, yep.

Edit: On another note, fuck this broken ass sniping system in this game.

IT feels like its built for the quick scopers and if u dont do that then fuck you, you'll never get them all gold.

Thank fuck I got the RK5 golded just before work, now I can crack on with guns I actually like playing. The PO6 seems like a hoot btw, wasn't sure about it initially but its growing on me fast and I don't even like sniping.

They're good as weapons it's just that the spacing needed to be effective with them can be tough to find on maps designed for mostly close to mid range engagements.

I played a really good game with a stock+ballistics cpu+rapid fire Locus and a KRM as my secondary. Had sixth sense and fast hands as my sole perks. On gauntlet, which is a pretty good sniper map. My teammates were garbage (two of them were huddled in the corner outside of the sniping perch, but when someone shows up in the hall, I the sniper had to step out of the perch, switch to my shotgun and blast the person away before either of my jabroni teammates could sort out what was going on) but I still pulled in a victory by alternating very long and very short range.

I called in a mothership with the SVG last night. Snipers are great!

Edit: I should say this was on Redwood though. There aren't many maps where my go-to is a sniper.

What's the best sniper rifle in the game?

It's really about preference. I've gone toe to toe with many snipers with the P-06. But any of the snipers can do good.

Coming from personal experience I'd echo what Saucycarpdog says with the exception of the Drakon. Many people will give you hard time for using it but it is actually one of the crappiest snipers in the game... again, in my experience! The only thing it has going for it is its fairly fast rate of fire so it can be used as a marksman rifle ( with ELO ) but as a sniper rifle I felt it was fairly lacklustre.

All the other snipers feel a lot more like real sniper rifles, the P-O6 in particular is a very satisfying weapon to use when you get used it.

Why? Sniper fights are a thing. Had one with another sniper on infection just last week. Went back and forth the entire match.

Either way, all the snipers have purpose and can be used effectively.

It was a joke, like you shouldnt be sniping from toe touching range

Is that auto shotgun useless? I haven't leveled it at all yet so I have no attachments but holy crap it seems hard to kill people with it.

It was good on launch, now it fires kitten licks and feathers. I'm doing its camos on hardcore where its actually usable.

It's another gun that doesn't make sense with a mouse. Long Barrel + Rapid Fire + Extended Mags X Purifier = Wraith after Wraith.

Guess who just opened 7 Rare Supply Drops and didn't get a weapon?

this guy

Still don't have one myself. I wish I could see how many of these stupid things I've opened since weapons were added.

Got another common decal, a weapon variant for a weapon I don't use and a rare calling card in my last one, thanks guys.

It's good, but you have to really take advantage of mobility and the element of surprise. Its not a precise weapon and has pretty good range for a shotgun, so don't wait to fire and avoid the enemy's line of sight. If you can anticipate combat, try to come in at unexpected angles. Unfortunately, it's best attachment (long barrel) comes second to last. Unless you're going for headshots really hard and don't care about losing a lot of engagements, don't bother with the laser sight or ADS. They make it harder to use effectively. The tighter spread won't improve the shots required to kill in a meaningful way. It might change a small window of longer ranged shots from 4 to kill to 3 to kill, but nothing beyond that, all the while making it easier to miss, which you can't afford to do with the Haymaker.

I like to have it equipped alongside gung-ho, so that if I'm chasing someone, they won't be able to escape the gun's range once I start hitting. Fast hands too, so its always ready and I can reload cancel real quick.

That's all the advice I've got.

So this double keys weekend was a waste. Opened about 7-8 30 key chests and didn't get a damn thing that I liked beside but a legendary helmet for the ruin.

Also my goal was to get dark matter camo. That ended tonight after I tried to use the sniper rifles. I used them for 5 games and got literally got about 7 kills altogether while dying 15+ times a game. I was missing people who about 15 feet away from me who had no idea I was there.

I will never ever get the sniper rifles diamond. I simply don't have the skill.

Good games, straymblaster! Sorry if my performance wasn't up to par, something happened with our router and it's causing us to have noticeable lag (albeit not enough to be unplayable). Sadly, this is probably going to last at least a week so it sucks that I'm hindered. It really pissed me off too because in Nuketown it started skipping right before I got a Wraith near the beginning, costing me my life and probably the game. God I hate Nuketown. So yeah, my apologies and don't expect me to be playing at peak performance for awhile.

managed to get 480 keys worth of rare supply drops. not a single weapon. 1 epic, which was a dupe of a gun camo.

all commons and rares.

That's pretty sweet. People make it look so easy when using snipers.

Between the crap I got all weekend with the rare chests and realizing I will never get the snipers diamond, and the next to impossible grind for the hero armor for certain classes it's taken the steam out of the engine for me. If I cannot get the snipers diamond then there is really no point in continuing to get the LMG and SG diamond either.

Beside my goal of getting master prestige (9 now) I don't have a whole lot more to play for.

Don't give up, you just have to get used to the snipers and the playstyle. Learn the camping spots if you haven't yet and stay mobile, always keep strafing left and right a bit while aiming through the scope and keep changing your positions actively.

I am really really bad with the snipers. I am not joking when I said I am missing guys who have no clue I am there who are standing still from 15 feet away. When I play I just end up going 1-11, 2-15 etc.

I get frustrated, my KDR plummets (not that it's great to begin with) and I get to be that person who brings the team down.

I can give it another go tonight but I doubt I will get much better.

Getting the golden armor is a nice a challenge.. I got all the pieces for Ruin, Outrider, Battery and need the last 3 headpieces for Seraph

I started working on Nomad as well and everything about this specialist suck
Can't wait to go back to Ripper and Gravity Spikes

It is. I have the hero armor done for the ripper. I have the hero helmet for the ruin as well as the firebreak. I am not even going to bother with the Prophet. I don't like his energy gun and I will never get 4 glitch kills in one game either.

The nomad is pretty good but getting 6 kills in one game with the HIVE is going to be tough so I may not bother with that either.

I tried going for the Hero armor but then I realized how much I rely on the Ripper to save me from unexpected situations and for getting me a ton of score in a matter of seconds. By comparison, all the other weapons charge much slower, are depleted completely if killed with them, and aren't as useful in saving yourself (since they have animations for equipping them) or racking up score (since they usually have ammo concerns, and only give 125 points per kill while the Ripper gives 150. If used in a good situation, you can clear a room of enemies with just the Ripper). The abilities are also not as useful considering they don't really help you perform better except for maybe combat focus.

I get plenty of that shit too and I'm just the SVG-100 short from getting diamond snipers. It really is just a matter of practice and the cool thing about going for Dark Matter is that the whole process can actually teach you how to be a better player. As you try and unlock some of the tougher camos you sort of pick up new tricks like when to pull back and when to rush, where to expect enemies to pop up, when the spawns might flip and all that. Heck you can even tinker with your aim sensitivity to find something that might suit better for sniping or any other weapon for that matter.

When I first started on Dark Matter I had tons of days where I thought that I'll never get it but now its just a matter of time for me ( which isn't exactly a luxury atm since I spend 45 hours of my week at work and trying to cram in other activities too ). You'd be surprised how easy it might turn out in the end as the whole thing begins to slowly unravel. First you gold 1 weapon you thought was tough, then the next and so on, some games will make you rage but luckily all the rounds are so quick that theres always the next round where you might find yourself doing a lot better. Just make sure you got plenty of alternatives to work on if a specific weapon isn't working out on that day or you get a map that isn't very well suited for a certain weapon type such as snipers for example.

With snipers I'd say do the Drakon in hardcore game modes, perhaps in domination as its easy to tell where to expect the enemies to be based on what points they control and obviously try to avoid tight spaces, stick to open areas with long stretches and other sniping spots. The other 2 snipers that I've done so far are more or less a guaranteed 1-hit kill so they can be easily done in softcore where you'll be able to sponge a few bullets and leg it for cover to regen if needed. Thermal optic can help a lot or atleast I felt it was a big help but beware enemies who run with Cold Blooded or might use a power core. Blind Eye and Ghost can be a big help too.

They do. I am actually surprised they have not nerffed the ripper. But overall it's tough getting the 6 kill challenges with the weapons. You only have your specialist ability thee times a game Much of it is just dumb luck. IE playing on a smaller map and having the enemies lined up, not getting shot and killed within 5 seconds.

I am sure it's just getting used to the sniper rifles. The game is just so faced paced that I just don't have the time to aim and shoot. I will give it another shot tonight with your suggestions. Thanks!
