Call of Duty: Black Ops III |OT| No Content For Old Gen

Nope, it's driving me fucking crazy, and they had the exact same issue in BO2 and did nothing about it apparently.

At least in BO2 the Supercrunch audio setting raised the volume enough that you could hear it - here? Almost sounds quieter.

I have to use headphones instead of my home theater system, so dumb.

Yes, it drove me crazy in Black Ops 2, also. How come none of the reviews said anything about this? I don;t think I'm alone here, but sound is 50% of the immersion for me.

I'm using that supercrunch setting too, does nothing for me other than the reload sound moves my couch in the living room. This is ridiculous and coming out of Halo 5 with that stellar sounds, it's a shame. Firing my DMR in Halo makes neighbors think ISIS came to town.

The High Boost option in the sound settings under Audio Presets made it a bit better, you can hear explosions and gunfire and the sounds still have a bit of oomph. The bass boost option just seems to muffle everything and the default Treyarch Mix sounds just weird. Not sure why the sound feels overall so neglected when compared to say BF4 which is pretty amazing at times even with cheap shitty PC 2.1 speakers.

I tried all the settings, including the one you're mentioning and it was shit all across the board.

Only 1 zombie map makes me sad.

Every other game had 3 to begin with.

It's a hard map too! So finding it difficult to enjoy.

After learning the maps and gelling with a gun finally I am having an absolute blast playing this with friends. The XR-2 or whatever is my go to so far, it's familiar to me after using pulse rifles so often in Destiny. Broke positive for my overall KD (not that I stress over it but I started out super bad in this game).

Evac and Infection are pretty damn fine maps IMO.

Haven't gotten a chance to touch zombies yet unfortunately. It's tradition I go through new zombie maps with my cousin and my dad blind so I'm waiting on them.

Man, I really hope that the Gorgen and the 48 stay the same and don't get nerfed. The Gorgen is amazing for Safeguard that it tears through the robot's health and the nature of the mode makes it even better. The infection map was great for it as well... So fun that a lot voted for it three times in a row.

If they nerf the Gorgon, nobody will ever use it again. The reload takes too long and it'll be very easy to die in a hurry if it takes more than two bullets to kill someone. Nobody really uses LMGs in MP and now they finally have a decent one that people are using for once so they better not mess with it. The gun has it's drawbacks. Most people stick with ARs and SMGs anyway.

I can't understand how anyone can find the movement in BO3 impressive if they are experienced in Titanfall. It is 100x more limiting and janky by comparison.

ADS while wall running, player maintains a consistent line of momentum throughout most of the run, and can aim at near right angles to the surface they're traversing. It's unrealistic, but you can actually have a gunfight while wall running. Both systems are good, but Titanfall actually made the player too fast and mobile for infantry only gameplay IMO.

Yes. There is.

I love Titanfall's movement system to bits, but I don't think it's fair to compare it with Black Ops 3.

I thought it was fairly obvious that Treyarch went for a different feel. In Titanfall, the movement system feels so effortless. Chaining wall runs is smooth and almost like gliding. But in a game that focuses on verticality, it makes sense.

I've been playing Black Ops 3, and vertical movement is not the focus. The game is still very much ground based, and the wall run feels "heavy." It feels more like another tool at your disposal that supplements the ground-focused combat in comparison to Titanfall.

Anybody else who thinks the footsteps are super quiet in this game? Even if you use the perk?

Bought this game yesterday with absolutely no expectations, I thought I would never buy a COD again after AW and Ghosts...

I´m really surprised! MP feels very good and is fun!

BUT, there are to many announcements and they are too loud! I turned the voices volume down to 5 thats waaaay better!

I don't believe that's true, is it?

Edit:
WaW have one. Black Ops had two, it had Five (the presidents one) and Kino der Toten (Cinema). Black Ops 2 had one (Green Run), it had Nuketown zombies at launch too, but I consider that dlc considering it was exclusive to the hardened edition.

So it's a little less than usual -- although Nightmares could be considered a substitute for a second traditional zombies mode.
At the very least the base zombies map seems quite elaborate and fleshed out.

Was playing the campaign yesterday on regular (because fuck frustrations and cheap deaths) and noticed you could unlock all missions if you want, found the Dead Ops Arcade 2 game and that VR combat training program in the safehouse.

This game has lots of content, I love it.

Anybody else who thinks the footsteps are super quiet in this game? Even if you use the perk?

Not really, but I'm using headphones and the Awareness perk has saved my life plenty of times.

bo1 had kino der toten and five.

my biggest problem with zombies is, that I can't play it.
can't find games and if I do, they are unplayble.

I think Titanfall and BLOPS3 are very different in their movement even from the basic premise of it's useability.

The Titanfall movement system is basically something you HAVE to use.
The BLOPS3 system is something you CAN use.

In Titanfall if I wasn't running on a wall,I felt I was doing it wrong.
in BLOPS3 it's more like "can this wallrun get me into a good position? no? then i'll walk thanks"

You can also run at right angles to where you aim in Titanfall. :p I often run along a wall that is oriented behind me to throw off players. And its only too fast and too mobile for the scrubs. :p Running in competitive matches is still a very, very dangerous play.

While this is true, it greatly irks me how much that tool is limited to BO3.

Disgusted and annoyed with the pub communication in the lobbies I played on PS4, so I'll ask how to play the modes here.

In the escort robot mode, how do you actually stop the robot and win the round? When I was playing, I was unloading on it at point blank and got it to stop a couple of times, but it just kept going.

Yeah, I wish the maps were built to utilize it a bit more myself, but it's not lessening MG enjoyment of the game.

As a side note, I really do hope Titanfall's sequel maintains a strong MP presence.

nope. sound whoring is back. like night and day after AW. i like that there are different levels of footsteps. was that in previous games? (i.e. running, walking, crouch walking)

If Titanfalls captures this type of MP, count me in. Thought 1 was way too lax on content and eventually sold it.

Really? Without awareness, I can't hear a thing. MW3 was a bit too much, but Treyarch basically eliminated it in BO2 and now 3. I shouldn't need a perk to hear someone running right behind or next to me. Also, the bizarrely low volume of a guy shooting you in the same room drives me nuts.

The robot will continue to move if there is a person on the enemy team within close proximity to it. If the robot is moving, kill the players around it and don't shoot the robot. If you deplete the health of the robot then it will need to re-boot, meaning it cannot be moved for about 15 seconds.

Biggest difference other than the controls being a hell of a lot smoother is that in Titanfall you can run on pretty much everything.

Thank god Bo3 is nothing like that shit. The series already more than chaotic enough and I love how they nerfed movements from AW.

I'm having a hard time adapting to the wall running and new mechanics with boosting, can someone give tips for someone that hasn't played since BLOPSII?

Also, can you give recommendations for starting guns? I'm playing Nuketown right now just to level up, but I'd like some cheese for easy leveling. PS4 version.

My tip for the start would be to use wallrunning to get into postions but not during actual combat for now.
Then as you get better at the normal gunplay, you can start incorporating the movement into it.
Especially sliding can be hugely effective.
The slide in general is perfect to quickly cover an open area and get into cover.

I will never understand this sentiment. It's so far from chaotic. It sounds like people who thought looking up and down in old FOS games was unnecessary. It's just a natural progression of the genre.

As a beginner your best bet is to play like you don't have any special boosting/wall run abilities. Play it like you would play BO2. Slowly over time start trying new paths that use wall running and practice shooting at enemies while doing it. For starting guns I would go with any of the LMGs. Everyone talks about the Gorgon but I'm in love with the Dingo. You will move slower than everyone else by using an LMG but you will play smarter. Stick to an objective game mode like hard point to learn the maps and spawns. I suggest hard point over domination because in hard point everyone's forced to move around and it's easy to predict where enemies will be coming from.

My hard point class:
Battery with War Machine
Dingo + Reflex + Grip + FMJ + Rapid Fire
Frag
Flak jacket
Hard Wired
Awareness

Score streaks: UAV, Lightning strike, RAPS.

You won't be able to use all of those attachments at first. The most important is the grip and sight. Fill up your extra slots with a launcher to take down UAVs and streaks and use smoke screens.

I go absolutely crazy with the starter pistol. But ive always loved pistols In these games.

I love pistol as well, love them in Halo, Gears and past CoD... Its my favorite weapon in Metal Slug!.... But i was thinking about this last night. All my loadouts dont have a secundary in favor of using an extra grenade or perk. Wich its a first for me since i love secundary weapons..

I think the difference here is that what BO3 is doing is a much more direct comparison to Titanfall than the thrust in Halo 5, and not a favorable one.
Titanfall constrols are much more advanced the BLOPS3s its so smooth.

I'll get in on that Audio Discussion and second everything.

Footsteps are too silent, even with the perk. Shooting sounds like im using plastic guns. Explosions do make our 4 story building shake though.

AW was even worse for me. Infinity Ward are best, when it comes to audio.

I know there's almost 0 chance for this to be patched, but those gun sounds are absolutely ridiculous. Like during the singleplayer campaign when I was using some sort of mounted machine gun, the sound was almost non existent.
Can't believe that more people are NOT complaining about this.

does this game let the enemy know where care packages are dropped? Every fucking time I go and drop mine, some clown appears out of nowhere to steal it.

It's so fucking dumb.

It sounds fine with headphones but not so much with the speakers...I play with headphones and it sounds fine to me... I can clearly hear when i have an enemy nearby in MP. Im using the perk tough...

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. I just hope that people don't complain about it much.
It reminds me of how the KRM was pretty decent in range and how it made shotguns a lot more usable in MP beta only to get nerfed in the full game after how a lot of people complained about it.

Now, it really hurts to level up to get the decent attachments and the good ones are at the end of the chain sadly.

The engineer perk allows you to see enemy equipment from very far, including care packages, but I haven't seen any using it. You just have to find better places to drop it. I usually find a corner behind where my team is located. Never had one stolen.

In regards to the sound stuff, yeah, it's a bit weak -- but it doesn't really ruin the game for me. I'll likely spend the vast majority of my time in multiplayer with volume on low while I watch a television show or listen to a podcast, same I do with most multiplayer games. The only exception being Counter Strike for obvious reasons. I do like the sound design reletive to your suit and abilities though, I appreciate the sound cues for wall-running and such, it helps me make sure I'm actually locked on the wall and aren't sliding down it to my death.

Meh, gonna sell it. Still not feeling it after a few days. I played the beta and was pleasantly surprised, but it feels like there is some kind of quirk in the connection that just dicks me over. I always drop instantly (not even a red screen) while I get hitmarker after hitmarker on the guy that I am shooting at.

Just frustrating and not worth it.
