Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Footage

So we can assume that Nazi Zombies is in, but is it Hardened/Prestige only?

It would seem like a very easy way to sell the those versions to players, although I don't think most will need that much convincing.

If I do get around to buying this game as I do have fun in MW2 now and again, it'll be regular edition only and not until I can buy it for £25 in the UK sales, it will happen :lol

Do we know if the Wii will be getting any special editions? Even a minor one with just a different case or maybe art book, etc?

Did they? I thought that was glitched.
One of the loading screen tips say you can, but in reality you can't stun them at all.

I would like it if smoke grenades were able to hide you from killstreaks like harriers, helicopters, sentries etc (or whatever their equivalents in BO will be)

I was just thinking it would be cool if the Wii version came with nazi zombies like the hardened PS360 versions. Here's hoping Treyarch come very close to matching the features of the PS360 versions.

I'm going to assume not - the large majority of people will buy the HD versions, so they'll target more expensive editions towards the larger market.

Edit: I Guess there's little-to-no chance of the Wii version of getting a record feature either :(
going to end up double-dipping again :(

This post seriously just blew my mind. Why in the hell would you even consider buying a game like this on Wii?

I think it'd be cool if a counter UAV would fuck up killstreak's targeting systems too. Like, they'd still be able to get you if you run out into the wide open like a retard, but it would not be able to snipe you through windows and shit.

unrelated, but uh:

We tell ya, these game bundles are getting completely out of hand... and we love it. If you reckoned that Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition bundle was hot stuff, wait till you get a load of this. Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition (promo video beyond the break) just went up for pre-order at select retailers in the US, and if we had to guess, we'd surmise that every last one of 'em will claimed in just a few hours. Aside from getting a beastly box, the game itself and some sort of medal, the package also includes a fully functional RC spy car, complete with a camera that sends back video and audio to the owner's LCD-equipped controller. There's absolutely no telling what the MSRP on this thing will be, but our comrades over at Joystiq are pegging it at $149.99. Mom, dad -- go ahead and add this to our holiday wish list.

it comes with an RC car

Im pretty sure they will have time limits, and can be disabled with gunfire. Also it replaces UAV.

But it will still be a great tool to get rid of campers.

EXACTLY. This made my interest in the game jump-it's like Treyarch is trying to directly address the main issues with MW2. Let's hope Noob Tubes take up a perk slot.

Let's get over that ancient idea instead, shall we? The reason it took up a perk slot in CoD4 and WaW was because the tier 1 perk in those games was an equipment slot (while tier 2 was a combat perk and tier 3 was a "wildcard" perk). They removed that concept with MW2, making tier 1 a movement/strategy perk (the one you pick determines how you'll move around and what strategy you'll use). This is actually a better system because it means that only a few people will have explosives, as opposed to CoD4 where everyone has either an RPG, claymores or 3x frags at all times.

What we should be hoping for is that Sonic Boom/Fireworks/Danger Close doesn't return, and that there's no way to refill tubes. (I don't see a problem with restocking frags and claymores though, Scavenger needs to do more than just refill ammo or it will be a fairly useless perk.)

Yeah, that's not supposed to be there. :lol

This is the one straight from Treyarch's site:

Uh you know the Wii Remote? As far as I can tell CoD4 Wii was pretty much the same other than its uglier graphics (yes uglier, it's a CoD trait).

Why? Getting rid of the first perk tier when you use the NoobTube would stop people from using it with Scavenger and OMA and would cut down on its use by a whole hell of a lot. It is still a good idea for MW2 even if it isn't for the same reason.

That's posted on Friday 13th. There would be other articles with him in there.

Anyway, I do like the special editions Activision put out, even if don't bother buying them.

I hope the WaW zombie maps will be available at launch as DLC.

400pts would be ideal for those that have already purchased them and 800pts for those that didn't.

I just think that we can solve things without nerfing them into the ground, I really hate it when IW does that. I don't really see a reason why you shouldn't be able to have Marathon or Bling with a tube, for example.

Tweaking the perks themselves is a more refined solution than just blocking off an entire set of perks. I'd suggest making it impossible to combine a tube attachment and a secondary launcher, have OMA not reload equipment at all (so if you've used your semtex in one class, you don't get the claymore that's in the other and you don't get any new tubes), remove Sleight of Hand functionality on offensive launchers (it's fine on the Stinger or Javelin) and, hell, just remove Scavenger and bring back being able to pick up ammo from any weapon with the same caliber bullet like in CoD4 and WaW and also Bandolier.

Really? I'd say 0pts is ideal for those of us who already bought them. Activision owes us something for forcing us to buy the maps in WaW.

I'm pretty sure it'll probably end up being priced at 1200 like all the other map packs.

No special editions. Wii version of Cod Black Ops is still hidden, with no Gamescom showing, which is weird, since they first shown MW Reflex here last year. No assets, no in-depth details, no mention... they even got the NDS one!

Treyarch's Josh Olin sees some constrains when making Wii version because of the new, bigger landscapes with breakable elements. They promise to make this as similar as possible to the HD versions. They assure it'll be graphically better than Modern Warfare Reflex for becoming the best visual experience on a Wii FPS.

Also, no Classic Controller mode for this game (just traditional, awesome IR controls). Neither they'll put Wii controls on other versions by using Move, for example.

September 1st could bring some new details...

Helicopter level and jungle-village level. They're called Payback (Laos) and Victor Charlie. i liked the color scheme, but not that explicit violence... it's like they had no taste with that. Tunnel "scary" section with lintern and spectacular helicopter on rails shooting... but FPS part seemed more fun.

Are we still doing this? The answer is controls. Accept that some people simply prefer to play FPS with the Wii remote instead of a button controller. End of story. The trade off of graphics for the controls is worth it some.

Thanks for the update. This however is pushing me more and more in the direction of GoldenEye 007 though. After this time and still no Wii footage is very disappointing. I had hoped with IW out of the picture things would be different but doesn't seem to be the case at the moment. Hope that changes but not getting my hopes up.

Maybe Activision doesn't want the Wii version to take attention away from GoldenEye and they want that to be the Wii FPS people to buy?

PS3 version of MW2 was almost never shown until the weeks leading to the game's release and that version is pretty much identical to 360 version. Just saying.

I think Wii owners will have nothing to worry.

To be honest, from a business perspective it is always better to show nothing related to the Wii . Wii screens always look horrible and are not really helping as a selling argument. Like MW:R showed last year the pictures of this engine cause dissatisfaction and terror among gamers, so better leave it. Anyway the pictures do not reflect the game's visuals if running on your TV. If it's on par with MW than fuck the pictures and give me the game when it's out.

I hope those 4 maps get a discount bundle soon enough. I don't think 80 dollars is worth the other junk you get for the hard edition. I just want to drop $60.00 and pay like 800Msoft points to download the co-op maps. If it ends up being 1200+ points though, then hard edition it is I guess. :(

Very true. Video is usually best to judge Wii games by or well any game by in general.

Back home from GC. They showed a gameplay part from the SP taking place in some snowy Russian mountains. You start that spy plane we saw in the first trailer in your space suit. You have to lead the team on the ground via Radar/High resolution camera. Then they zoom in from space to the actual gun fight in that mountain station. Except for the crossbow it was pretty much what you've seen before in MW2 gameplay-wise. They improved the sound very much which is a plus. They said it's not a finished product. And you can see that. The graphics are currently worse than in MW2. Lots of aliasing and textures don't look that sharp either. You could really notice it when the player looked at some wall nearby or snow on the ground.

Awesome that they improved the sound! And the graphics should be like MW2 in the end if not better. Better make that Quake 3 engine break a sweat :lol

Hopefully by not being a clusterfuck.

OMA being absent will help, and the fact that scavenger won't reload grenades is also a plus.

They're hyping the changes quite a bit; they've said Create-A-Class, stat tracking, and playlists have been changed up to the point that a lot of the new features will surprise people and not be anything like what they expect.

Not that that answers your question but hopefully whatever comes September 1st will.

Apparently pointing directly at HUD icons for objectives 'causes them to disappear. Also, Josh's favorite aspect of the game is a new multiplayer mode.

Interesting information, but I don't understand why the Wii version can't get the special edition as well. Wii owners don't want cool versions of their games?

Amazon has Black Ops for $49.99 w/ $20 credit and Release Day Delivery. I know the latter two are old news, but they just cut the price of the game today to 49 bucks (360 version only).

With my Mafia II credit, I'm getting Black Ops for $39. :D
