Due out this November, the special edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops will include a tiny remote control "video surveillance vehicle" inspired by the games multiplayer.

The remote control vehicle, inspired by the RC-XD found in the game's multiplayer, has a range of about 200 feet and a fully-functioning remote camera that transmits both color video and audio. The car will only come with the yet-to-be-officially-priced Prestige Edition of the game, which also comes with all of the extras included with the Hardened Edition.

The Hardened Edition includes a custom Black Ops limited edition medal, exclusive Black Ops Avatar outfit, as well as four playable cooperative maps.

Both editions will be coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 when the game ships on Nov. 9.

No word on who is manufacturing the vehicle, but since the night vision rig looked an awful lot like it was made by toy maker EyeClops, and toy maker Spy Gear also makes a video camera-sporting truck, I suspect it could be a toy company.

Pretty cool gadget

So is everyone* boycotting this too? Ill be too busy with GT5 around the time of this release. Should pick it up a bit later.

And all the SMGs. Really, the SMGs were far too strong in general in W@W; the MP40 being the most egregious example.

Disagree. The maps are huge in WaW and the SMGs have a distinct disadvantage at a distance (long range) while being quite usable at mid range (due to extended mags) but not overpowered. Mid range requires burst fire to not get slaughtered. Close range, they dominate and they should dominate since they're SMGs. The problem is that people run around with a semi-auto AR and try to compete against an SMG in close quarters. Sorry if you lose more often than you win! You're outside of your best range!

The awesome thing about WaW is that the relative dominance of SMGs (since they're great at close range and quite usable at mid range) promotes CQC and not the campfest of MW2.

RC car could be great for busting out campers and snipers. I like it.

Seems like an unnecessary version of the predator missile. Oh wait, thats because it is.

Edit: Actually it will prolly be pretty good at getting into indoor spaces so snide remark redacted for now.

You get it after 3 kills so maybe a bit more over powered, im assuming you can just shoot these if you see them coming towards you and they blow up?

Although world at war at one overpowered gun to me, I still never used it and still completely dominated most of my games. I used the gewehr. That was the shit.

That's actually pretty cool. I wonder how well it works?

Not nearly cool enough for $150

I wonder how long it will be until I see the news about some kid leaving it somewhere and bomb squads are sent in. :lol

I used that one a little bit because I got so used to using it in Zombie Asylum. But most of the time I used the STG. There were 3 specific maps(Courtyard, Dome, Sub Pens) I used the MP40 on but that was about it.

Yeah 3 kills for a remote controlled bomb kinda a big deal IMO.

If you didn't use an MP40 on Dome you were basically asking to lose! :lol

A bit disappointing to see so much reliance on the MW2 system instead of a uniquely distinct one. Oh well, still very hyped for this game.
- Bullet mag number counter instead of the normal mag visual is strange. Hope you can change this cause the single player footage up to now has the visual HUD instead of the new counter.
- Where's the gore! Hope they decided to include the dismemberment from WaW. One of the Black Ops trailers had a dude getting his leg blown off. Keep this for MP.
- Emblems look generic, but I have a feeling it's because you can edit them. If true, you would see more original personalized stuff rather than the same thing over and over. Thumbs up.
- Shouldn't they guy who got hit by the cross bow at least flinch a little bit from the hit? He got tagged from only a few meters away.... from a cross bow.
- The physics of the dolphin dive look way off and mechanical. Hopefully they can fix that.

I never understood why so many used that gun. I used to blow bitches away with my thompson and round drum so much on those smaller and indoor maps.

I miss the bolt actions.

I hope they bring the M14 into the game as well.

I was a Thompson man myself. Used the Thompson ever since CoD1 and then UO when it was balanced. :lol

And I did the same with the MP40.

Found at CoD:BO forum, scan someone did of a pamphlet given out by Gamestop. It's 4 pages, but this is the interesting one:

Yep, hardened edition is 69.99 right? so you'd save $5.

79.99.

Kinda mad I have to buy them again but they're also awesome enough for me to not really care.

I skipped W@W so I never experienced the Nazi zombie mode. I heard it was pretty cool. So with the Hardened Edition, you'll get the Zombie maps and you'll take on the Nazi zombies with the more modern weapons huh?

I thought that taking on the zombies with the older weapons fit in nicely with the theme of zombies made up of Nazi soldiers from the 40's. Who cares as long as the mode is fun, right?

It still blows my mind how many people don't seem to use UAV nowadays. They're probably all trying for the AC130 or nuke. If they're able at all or not...
I feel angry using them, because I feel like I'm doing something for nothing. No one elses gives me a UAV, so why should I enable one for you?

I like that despite how negative this thread is, the game will still sell a bajillion squillion copies.
I am really looking forward to the game, the only Call of Duty I haven't liked yet was 3 (probably because Treyarch was figuring it out and they didn't do a PC version).

Looks like Ill have to at least consider the hardened edition, but it seems like picking up the maps separately would be the better deal.

I've pretty much wanted this game for Zombies and getting the WaW maps for free, since Hardened is the same price as the normal game here is gravy. Der Reise with modern guns will be schweet.

I can already see 2 minutes into each match your going to have 5 of these wizzing around, gonna be mayhem.

Im pretty sure they will have time limits, and can be disabled with gunfire. Also it replaces UAV.

But it will still be a great tool to get rid of campers.

Yeah I think it's a useful (and hilariously fun) killstreak.

People seem to forget stun and flash grenades disabled turrets in MW2, so the RC cars will probably be disabled too.
