Difference being is that this is only a COD title in name only. I would agree if it was an IW title before the firings. But now, it's just an expansion pack made by a different developer.

Can't wait to play this to wash the taste out of my mouth that the bug/glitch infested, unbalanced pile of shit named Modern Warfare 2 left in my mouth.

You don't know this game isn't buggy yet. Remember, even to this day W@W has horrible game breaking bugs in the lobby system that have never been fixed.

This is a one minute highlight video. It's not an adequate representation of gameplay to make broad assumptions such as that.
except that the developers chose what to highlight. Seemed pretty far out to me. RC Cars w/ explosives. Ballistic knives. Cross-bows. The general pacing and feel seems identical to MW2. I personally think that WaW was the best mp COD game to be released. It struck the right balance between perks and basic military gunplay.

They can add as much ridiculous shit as they want, as long as it's balanced. That RC car? Awesome, if it's balanced. That ballistic knife? Badass, if it's balanced.

That's MW2's biggest problem, IW seems to have some sort of phobia when it comes to releasing balance patches. Since BC2's launch in March, DICE has released, what? Ten or so patches that solely fix weapon imbalances/bugs & glitches? Don't get me wrong, I understand IW's been having employment issues over the last few months, but come on.

And while I'm excited about the replay feature (really should have been in MW2), I can't help but know that Activision will try and charge the player at every corner they can get away with in order to get full functionality out of it, at the very least much more than what Bungie charges. Which definitely dampens my excitement for the feature.

Still definitely looking forward to the game as a PC player (the grand return of dedicated servers helps), and really hope Treyarch has some surprises up their sleeves for the single-player/co-op. It's just that, again, my biggest issue with the Call of Duty series multiplayer since CoD4 has been the blatant and unaddressed imbalances that plague the series as a whole.

When the same thing being done for CoD at:

Infinity Wards, we call it "Design Intent"
Treyarch, we call it "Design Missteps"

I agree with saying who cares if it's balanced. The rumored changes are already a huge improvement over things people abused in MW2, and if they are really doing a beta like it has been hinted then that should resolve a bunch of things on its own before release.

Seems like they are making a big deal out of fan feedback so just speak up to them and all should be decent at the least.

Let's break this down the Activision way: Why spend resources something useless like balance patches? It's way more useful to let them work on 15 dollar map pack or a new game.

No Nuke, Commando, One Man Army, or Akimbo bullshit = Day One.

It's still early, give them time.... Plus, someone will find the exploits shortly after launch, it's just a matter of Treyarch/Activision actually fixing the issues when their known before lettign them go for weeks on end like the Care Package glitch that made MW2 unplayable....

Oh please all keep the One Man army perk with NOOB tubes, so they can just switch from one to teh next and shoot 20 Noob Tubes from all class slots opened from the EXP hack they used... good thinkin'....

Major props again to Treyarch. They're talented guys who try to do the best they can to please the fans. I respect them for that.

That being said, as a guy who loved COD4 (it and early SOCOM titles are the only online games that I've ever played for 2+ years) and absolutely hated MW2, this probably won't be for me. I played COD4 for so long because I loved the tone and the style, even if the game wasn't terribly realistic.

The biggest feature of COD4 that made me hyped? Being able to shoot through certain materials. Customizing your weapons and unlocking more.

Right now, the only thing that has me excited about BO is the chance that the SP will be decent and that the recording options are good. Outside of that, I'm not one for the craziness of MP anymore. If the shit isn't balanced, or encourages camping for nukes, I don't want it.

Please make something that diehard COD4 guys can get into, Treyarch.

Cautious optimism means I will probably rent this at most.

Treyarch already confirmed no Nukes in Black Ops.

"An RC car? OMGWTF!?"

That thing is going to be PERFECT for douchebags who hide in corners with shotguns.

Fixed.

Treyarch also has a 200 person staff working on one game with unlimited funds.

I was hoping for a game that felt like MW2 but with a lot less stupid in it. Seems like they just replaced IW's stupid with their own.

Wow a Torque Bow in MW? They're not even trying..

Black Ops is officially Dudebro 3 as you can shoot AND slice at the same time. :lol
Needs more chainsaws. They could also throw in Army of Two's weapon bling system.

I know *I* want my golden AK to be studded with diamonds.

Correction: a diamond encrusted, golden AK with a smiley face dot sight...

:lol

Pretty sure that "dive" everyone was talking about is the new ability of going into prone after sprinting. I've heard they are adding this. Might be wrong though.

I dont mind that ability to go prone after sprinting aka "dolphin diving" IF, and this is a all or nothing IF it makes firing accurately from that state absolutely impossible, and perhaps even a momentary stun when you hit the ground.

Im sure day 1 I'll love it.

Day 2 Ill be on here going going off. :lol

There are many things in MW2 that are absolutely rage-inducing to me. The God forsaken Commando perk. Runner builds that might as well be freight trains especially if they have said God forsaken Commando perk. Care packages that foster people acting like douches trying to steal your care packages. Killstreaks that foster people camping to get high killstreak rewards, the almighty nuke, etc.

At its core, I still really like COD games. I love the way the games control. I love the 60fps. Even though the single player campaigns have been getting more over the top for the most part I still enjoy them. But I think I may end up getting this game a little later than usual. Like I said before, so much rage inducing stuff being included in these games now.

I know the general feeling on the Medal Of Honor beta wasn't favorable, hell I really didn't dig it all that much myself. But I'm hoping in the end DICE tightens everything up and it turns out well. Shocking but that''ll probably be the fps game I'll be playing for this season. I might just be getting a little burned out with COD games. I know I'll end up getting Black Ops eventually. Some of the stuff shown from single player looks pretty cool. And as long as stuff like the Commando perk are out of this game, I'll jump in.

Looks interesting, will try it out, but I expect it to feel like a slight extension of MW2's multiplayer which fails to keep my interest for the 14 days that IW got out of me.

Gotta say, it's looking good though. This is make or break for Treyarch with me, and so far it's been more make than break.

ROFL. :lol :lol :lol :lol Great use of it.

Uh...that didn't look very appealing to me, not sure if I'll buy it. If Treyarch does the pc version right I might reconsider (did they confirm dedicated servers or not?) (maybe mod tools for custom maps, but I highly doubt this).

In all fairness, MW2 is a steamworks title, therefore the only way to play it on PC is through steam.

This looks better than MW2. You wanna know why?

-No commando
-The knifegun is a sidearm
-No akimbo
-Killstreaks does not chain, ie getting a harrier that then gives you choppergunner->nuke. See it like this, all killstreaks will be like they are from a care package in MW2.

None of this is confirmed, but I heard this in articles. I am excited for this. Hopefully they play some CoD2/4 and go from there.

Some of the stuff looks interesting and the game seems to be more balanced compared to Modern Warfare 2 but nothing as close to previous Call Of Duty's or Call Of Duty 4.

If they killstreak are not carried over say from an Air Strike to a Chopper, wouldn't that actually encourage people to camp more?

The reason Call Of Duty 4 is different from Modern Warfare 2 is because the kill Streaks are not that high which ends at 7, so not much camping. Where as MW2 it is 25 which obviously encourages people to lay low to get their higher kill streaks which seems to be one of the major problem here.

I would happy if the kill streaks are completely removed, get the game back to it's roots again but I know that is not going to happen.

Not a single thing there is confirmed, so I wouldn't list it as being a part of the game.

Is it strange that Black Ops is now a must buy for me thanks to the replay thing ? I love fucking around with that shit, its why i got GTA IV PC in the first place :D
