love the specialist+hardline thingy
running sleight of hand->scavenger->quick fire atm
after the first kill I need to reload sleight of hand kicks in, you start to need ammo at around 3-4 kills depending on accuracy, bam I have scavenger and about quick draw, idk, still thinking about what to put into the third slot
and like mentioned before also great for leveling up, the 350-400 per kill is very nice, especially for some who dies a lot like I do ^^ plus you also level up all the extra perks if they are on and there are specific challenges to just unlocking them iirc

It felt like it took forever to unlock shit in MW2, I like this a lot better. I also hated having to use attachments that I didn't want to use to unlock ones that I did. I like the "use this gun a lot and you'll unlock shit over time" method in MW3.

They don't, you're likely just exposing yourself. Lag + extremely high per-bullet damage usually results in an instakill if they see you first.

I've clocked more hours into it and I'm really enjoying the game. I try to join games via the GAF user name, and it only lets me invite people. Is there a way around this?
Got the SPAS-12 to weapon proficiency level 29 and can safely say shotguns in general are a piece of shit. Using the grip attachment and the supposed damage upgrade still doesn't result in one shot kills 50% of the time from point blank. Way too fucking random, waste of a primary weapon slot.

COD's a reaction time thing. Coming from a middle of the road guy, you'll improve with time, but you know..it is what it is. Your twitch skills won't improve ALL that much, but you'll eventually learn to mind your cover and check your minimap more often.
Playing on a team would help..but it wouldn't make as much a difference as it does in BF3. Honestly, just have fun with it. Try out some different classes...get a feel for your play style through Spec Ops and Campaign..etc.

So they took away commando. Good. BUT. People still knife me even when they're 90+ degrees away from me. It's annoying! They run besides me, then behind me and BAM, I'm dead. During my last game there was someone who even knifed me while he was 180 degrees away from me. How's that possible!? And yes it showed it both in game AND on the kill cam. IW should nerf this or shorten the knifing radius.

Right at the beginning they go out of their way to explain exactly how the Russians seige New York..they make it believable and keep the dialogue serious and tactical. It kills the stupid Michael Bay randomness vibes from MW2.
Plus, Soap and Price are in it a lot more, which is awesome. It's very comparable to COD4; maybe even intentionally so. It might even be better.
Worth a playthrough for sure.

I just rented it from Redbox for PS3, and it took me from 12pm-5pm to beat it. Was a pretty fun story, I liked it. Way more fun than BF3 to me. Also, use the promo code DVDONME at the kiosk to save $1.20 off the one night rental. You can use this code once for every credit card/ bank card you have

I must reiterate. This campaign was awesome.
Also, I bought Elite premium from the dashboard since the actual app isn't working, anyone know if that's enough to get it working when the thing actually ends up working?

I think I may have a theory to what the issue with hit detection people are having:
In this game when you get shot, your gun flails off your target a super far amount, and even if you drag your cross hairs on them in reaction to it, the game still seems to not allow a few more bullets right there to count as connecting.
I believe this design choice is intentional to make that gun proficiency ability that reduces how much your character flinches when shot to be something relevant to equip to your gun. The problem is it seems to be jacked up TOO high if you don't have it equipped.
Just a theory. Could also be the millions of people online are choking shit up, and who knows what kind of ping games you are actually in once you get in. Search starts off for <50 MS ping games, and then keeps going up until it can find you a match.

So I got kicked back to the main menu and now I've been trying to get into mp for about 20 minutes. I keep getting a message saying the MW3 servers are down. This is all one the PS3 too.
Can't say I'm surprised, I'm using a friends copy to try it out.. and I can safely say I'm extremely glad that I did not pre order this game, I'll probably pick up a used copy in the coming weeks though, there's no way I'm giving Activision any more of my money

According to the reactions here not alot of the GAFers are natural talents when it comes to COD. Neither was I. I improved some I think and some tips I'd like to give you is to focus on playing 1-3 weapons, get the hang of them. Look at your routes, are you walking out in the open/without cover alot etc. And most importantly, the minimap. Quite often can you anticipate where your 'killer' is coming from if you take a second or two to look at the minimap. That small thing is so so important.

Yeah, I was thinking this too. A lot of people scream "HIT MARKER" like one hitmarker means the guy should have died. The flinch in this game is more (I think) than it's been in previous games.
