This is the first COD where I've gone into multiplayer before beating the campaign. After the first mission I got bored and jumped online...not a good sign.

The multiplayer maps are the worst in the series, everything feels cramped and there are way too many places to hide. Kill confirmed is a great mode but I wish they would bring back gun game and one in the chamber from BLOPS.

To me the damage seems to be too high, if an enemy spots you first you have absolutely no chance at fighting back because your health is so low which is frustrating. The shotgun range still needs to be nerfed and grenade damage needs to come back up.

As for guns, I dabbled with the AR's and sniper rifles before settling on the UMP45. In the right hands it is one beast of a gun. Haven't run into any problems with the Type 95.
So many complaints. I'm ranked about 48,000 in the world[PS3]. Use your wits and skills. Check your corners and windows don't just run around blindly. Get into the habit of doing that and it becomes second nature. Flash bomb rooms before proceeding. Grenade them when detected. Use perks wisely. Specialist can be your best friend. Also Trophy system when playing domination is massive. When you see that pred missile symbol pop up when you're capturing a flag unfold the damn thing. In fact don't wait just unfold it when capturing. A silenced weapon tells no one but your enemy who you are. Like Drake says 'Thank me later'

The problem with the maps isn't necessarily that they are small, but that they are CLUTTERED.

There is crap EVERYWHERE. Blown up cars, buses, buildings, boxes, etc. So many places to hide. So many places for people to camp and stay hidden when they shoot, making it impossible to fire back, even if you spot them first.

I think there are ways to deal with it, like knowing where those hotspots are for people to hide and camp, but even then there are a ton of deaths that come from people firing from positions that make them practically invisible.
I think Resistance is the worst offender in this respect. Something about the colors of that map, with all of the fences, tables/chairs and crap all around... I can't fucking see who the hell is shooting at me half the time.

I have a bigger problem with areas that are seemingly blocked off by invisible walls or objects that I think I should be able to climb up on being inaccessible.

I didn't prestige in BLOPS, and I'm thinking of not doing it this time, either. There's an even greater disparity between levels in MW3, and it makes a big difference in how well you do. Bigger than before.
haha

Thanks for confirming what I always suspected about people who don't prestige. They're afraid. Afraid they won't have their security banket gun, etc.

IMO, it shouldn't even be an option whether you prestige. Man up and deal with starting over. I genuinely don't believe I'm at a disadvantage from rank 1. I just have to employ different tactics.

Resistance is just a shitty map in general. the way it is setup it just encourages people to camp in the corners of the map.

I prefer Underground, Bootleg, Seatown (even with the crappy house in the corner), and Hardhat.

This game still didn't address headglitching, where all you see is the top of a person's head yet somehow they shoot you.
That's not a glitch, that's just how the perspective and gunplay works because the tip of the sight is always where the bullets land. They would have to change that mechanic to make the head not count at someone who can see (and therefor can shoot) you.

So, beat the campaign last night on Veteran..

It's really easy until the last two levels. Or even the last half of the last one.
I was saddened by the loss of Soap..He was a just an awesome guy, I was hoping he could become IW's new Price if they go into the future, but now we'll have a magical 90 year old warrior Cpt. Price.. if there is a future game.

I also thought it was interesting to see how much Price loved Soap. He refused to leave him behind; seemed so fatherly. That was the highlight of the campaign for me.

Well, along with seeing the building from CoD4 Pipeline in the early portions of it. That was awesome nostalgia.

I liked all of the flashbacks for the most part. My favorite was
Flashing back to the sniper shot on Zakhaev in Pripyat from Makarov and Yuri's POV.

God, get over yourself man. Maybe some of us just find it a complete waste of time.

I just beat it about an hour ago. Pretty good story. I loved the flashbacks.
Now that Makarov is dead, what will the next Modern Warfare be about? Or are they don't with the Modern Warfare name? I agree with you guys, Soap and Sandman dying was sad. :(

Found Sandman and co to be kind of corny. Soap's was handled well. Where is the Delta protagonist? Don't tell me he was one the guys who died on the elevators lol.

Flashbacks might have been one of the coolest moments of the CoD series.

There won't be another Modern Warfare. World War III is over, Makorav is dead, and Price is the only character alive that still matters. In all likelyhood they are working Future Warfare for next gen.

And can we talk about how stupid it is that there are certain cars that are just always on fire? In previous games, a burning car was a universal sign for "get the fuck away", but nope, now there are some that will just burn forever.

Afraid or enjoy playing the game better with a better weapon and better perks? Its a fact the higher your level the better your gun, perks, etc. Factually speaking I could go on rampages in Black Ops with a G11 and Ghost Pro but had to fight harder with a Galil and other stuff under level 27 every time I prestiged. Factually speaking helicopters were deadly and everyone knew where I was at lower ranks, whereas higher they were minimal effort and I only let who I want know where I was.

Your choice is to prestige for a pretty symbol, mine is to keep the guns I enjoy playing with more and destroy more people with - who are you to judge me if I'm not judging you?

Note : Never prestiged in MW2 but played enough to do so atleast 4 times, made it to 7th Prestige in Black Ops, and probably won't prestige in MW3.

Judging you? We're talking about a videogame man, not your sexual orientation.

It's nothing personal, but I think it's undeniable that there is a level of fear involved with not prestiging. As you said, fearing helicopters, etc. I just think the game should force it on people. It makes you a better player for it, as you're forced to change things up when you no longer have your standby guns and perks. You learn how to get by without them. I would even suggest that this game more than any other allows you to compete at the lower levels. The starting guns are very good, as they have been in all of the Infinity Ward made games.

Cars that are always smoking, inability to see who collected how many tags in KC, this.... This game has a lot of glaring, small, immensely annoying issues.

No red dot sights, perks to stay hidden, weapons to fight air support... I earned it, why should it force me to lose it all over? It doesn't force you to prestige, thats your choice - are you saying I should constantly be on your level because you feel like prestiging even though I don't?

As for better players, yea we should always be trying different tactics, but I want the gun that fires two guided rockets at helicopters, not one. I want the SMG with Rapid Fire. I want my red dot sights.

I'd link to a South Park clip on Youtube but something about copyright issues and my laziness to search SouthPark.com and yadda yadda yadda...

No harm meant. By anything I say. Ever. Promise.

That part was neat to see, but it completely conflicted with how the event played out in COD4.
In that game, Zakhaev collapsed into a pool of blood after being shot, which is why Price believes him to have been killed. In MW3, though, Zakhaev immediately jumps into a waiting car, seemingly none the wiser to having lost an entire arm.

I was confused on this just as well. But no, Frost is not the one who died on the elevator. Probably MIA or left in HQ/Hospital.

That is why you think people prestige? Does anyone in this thread prestige for this reason? have you seen the shitty designs in MW3?

Completely agree with the clutter in the maps.

And unless you're prestiging for extra class slots, I can't imagine why you'd do it. For a title or emblems? I'd rather have options to play with rather than play dress up.

With prestige tokens I see no reason no to prestige.

I'll be carrying over the G36c, Stingers, and betties for sure. And if you can unlock perks Assassin and Scavenger. Should make things a lot easier.

Oh there was something super awesome about the flashback I just remembered.

You can see the protagonist of No Russian(forget his name) staying behind the pack and not shooting. This is what I assumed most players did on their first playthrough, at least it is what I hear.

Are you saying you would judge someone's sexual orientation? Or maybe for some the allure of a game should be it's compelling gameplay and options, not just the carrot/stick routine. But hey, enjoy the treadmill and sparkly symbol. That's what matters most!

Not for me. It's more like I don't feel like going through the effort of unlocking pro perks and weapons all over again and I think unlocks are a stupid idea; Everyone should get everything at once, no unlocks.

with that said, I might prestige lol. I haven't checked, but you're supposed to actually get something for prestiging this time around. I prestiged in MW2 and realized it was pointless after a while and stopped, and in Black ops the grinding for stuff was absurd, it was damn near RPG type grinding, so I didn't there.

I've surprisingly only run into 1 blatant aimbot hacker so far but yeah if only we had dedicated servers. Also I really need to pick up the 360 version since everyone else I kno is on 360 =(.

No, I'm not saying that, but nice try at stirring up some drama. He was complaining that I judged him regarding his decisions in this game, as if this is a serious discussion. So I pointed that out by siting something that would be serious.

FYI, I have never prestiged for the symbol change. For me it's just always felt like the way the game was designed to be played. Also, as I said earlier, I don't feel like I'm really at a disadvantage starting over. I just change up my tactics and begin to rethink how I play again, since initially your options are more limited.
