Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 |OT| Got 99 Problems, But Sales Ain't One.

Go almighty it takes a lot of XP to prestige. Feels longer than last time.

I just want to get to 80, prestige, reset my stats, and move on to working on the Spec Ops missions on veteran.

Whenever I start to enjoy this game, just like clockwork, it goes and throws as much bullshit as it possibly can right square in my face. I kill two guys who are about 15 feet from me. Before I can reach their tags, they kill me. They got spawned right around the corner from where I killed them. Then a little bit later I get knifed in the back by a guy I killed not 1 second ago. I get the drop on a guy with a shotgun. I unload about 8 bullets into him. He turns around and one-shots me.

I am not amused.

It's been happening for 5 COD games now.

The Clan feature is finally up on Xbox, and seems there is a clan called NeoGAF with one member MASS Xtortion.

Is this the al deal, and if so how do I join? My gt is Chittagong.

I think a lot of people don't like them because they like camping, but I may be way off base.

You are way off base. The problem, as already said, is that a lot of the maps encourage the same play style. When we're all doing the same thing in cluttered maps, I get the feeling this is the shooter equivalent of Final Destination, no items, fox only or whatever it is hardcore Smash players liked. Except this is dumber because there's nothing interesting about frequent CoD 1v1 surprise encounters. It's like every corner is a monster closet with an invisible QTE action to be taken.

I'm largely fine with that aspect in shooters, despite my obvious hyperbole, except in this case where the maps don't have much variation in design.

Took me less than a week to prestige even though it's lvl 80, way too easy.

It took me 23 hours game time to prestige, which is about exactly what it took me per prestige on average in blops and MW2, so I don't know if that's different.

Also you realize that you can only reset you stats once you hit 10th prestige right?

Why would someone want to reset their stats?

My guess would be KDR nuts who want to mess around while going through all the prestige ranks. I can't think of anything else it would be for.

I really don't think I am way off base at all. And people saying the maps force everyone to play the same way must not be playing the same game I'm playing.

Force people to play the same way? The game's like a week old. Of course everyone's going to play the same way. It's like telling MOST people not to mash buttons in Marvel vs Capcom when it first came out.

People can play any style they choose in most of these maps, they just have to be smart about it. I can snipe on the smallest map and play with a shotgun on the largest map. Just because the game doesn't make it easy for me doesn't mean it's impossible.

EDIT: And that was my problem with MW2. It made things "too easy" (i.e. low recoil ARs, shotguns that are beast even at mid-range, killstreaks that get too many kills too easily, etc.).

What's the best way to kill a Juggernaut besides using killstreaks or explosives? Is there a weak point anywhere?

And how do I disable an IMS? I haven't ran across any in MP yet but I don't want to be caught with my pants down when I finally do.

Finally found a loadout that helps my weak ass Call of Duty game get stronger. For those of you who are getting whooped on in every firefight, try this:

Weapon: PP90 (Kick, Rapid Fire)
Perks: Slight of Hand, Hardline, Stalker (Once you go Pro on these, you're golden)
Strike Package: Support (Vests, Advanced UAV, Stealth Bomber... once you get accustomed to this loadout and do better, swap the vests for the EMP)

Seriously, I went from losing just about every gun-on-gun battle to getting 20+ guaranteed kills per round. Give it a shot, and my apologies if this was an obvious setup.

Shoot it. An EMP grenade should work as well. Flash/Concussions may or may not disable it long enough for you to melee it.

Best way is to use a launcher to the face. Seriously. SMAW, FTW.

The clan invite system seems to be working finally. Check your profile on callofduty.com to make sure you received one for the PS3 or 360 clan. I've sent all the ones for the PS3 so far. The Xtortionist will be sending the ones for the 360.

Let us know if you didn't receive one!

Why is the chat quality so shitty in this on the 360? It's worse than MW2, and going from a lobby with friends into a Live Party it's a huge difference.

MW3 MAPS

Need:
MTN DEW MAPS
DORITOS STRIKE

Sent you a trade.

Also, for anyone who wants to trade, here's my list: http://www.rankupxp.com/DASHBOARD/INDEX/CARDEXCHANGE/1036327878078

Back on topic, this game has something about it that makes me want to play.. Hasn't been like that since Mw2 (for a little bit) and CoD4 (for 2 years).
It's just fun! At least so far. The relative balance (shotties not included) that I've seen definitely helps.

You can do all these in larger, less cluttered maps. The point I'm making is that these maps encourage the play style I mentioned, thus making it rush heavy. Variation is key in shooters and the maps suggest differently. The comparison to fighters is silly, how else will CoD evolve at this point? Not that I'm complaining, but it's the same game with new maps. Balance changes in shooters are never near as significant as in fighting games.

Encourage.

Force means something completely different and I would not agree with it. Also, yes, of course you're off base. Throwing out blanket statements like that are never ever true.

good advice to anyone struggling is to just pick an smg. They're the quickest to ads and have the highest fire rates, and this game is all about 1 on 1 encounters. Even if you don't get the first shot in, you may get the 2nd, 3rd, and maybe even 4th in on someone with an assualt rifle.

Second. Which makes my strike packages less air type and more direct strikes. People shoot down stuff (including myself) down fast.

Yeah, MW3 game chat must be getting hit hard because the quality is pure garbage. I'm not surprised since this game has been hitting 1.5 million players online as of late. It will probably normalize in Jan, but until then party chat is the only way to go.

When I hear an osprey gunner or escort air drop I shit myself with joy because it allows for trolling to the highest degree.

By shooting it down asap they lose their kills AND they lose all the packages it's supposed to drop.

Does Live actually degrade quality during high demand per-game? Interesting if so, didn't know that.

Exactly. For Support, I usually just go with a counter UAV, Stealth Bomber and EMP. Love that EMP :D

I honestly don't know for sure, but it seems that way for the individual game. Everything else runs well enough.

It's me, General Ice. Did I play in a match with you? Cause I remember seeing your name in a game I was against you?

oh and i love handguns, they are easy to take out, I don't really see a very slow down taking it out even with out soh pro or quick draw
Yeah, I think we played in a match.

I still think the handguns suck compared to other secondaries. I feel lucky every time I get a kill with one. It doesn't matter anyway. The main problem with this game right now is the spawns. It's not that the maps are small, but the fact that there just isn't enough open space with this payback spawn system. Too many tight alleys and small rooms.

That sounds like a glitch, not a hack.

Also, use theater to record them, then report them.

Throwing your hands up like a child and bitching does nothing to solve the issue.
