Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 |OT| Got 99 Problems, But Sales Ain't One.

Yeah, I gotta echo this. I liked the MW and MW2 campaigns a lot and the BF3 campaign compares very poorly. Hell, I'd even give the edge to the BLOPS campaign, and that was pretty bad in my book.

Seriously, it cannot be stressed just how bad BF3's campaign is. It's one of the laziest piles of shit I've ever had the displeasure of playing.

I just picked up the last copy of harden edition from local target store. While I can't wait to play it, I still can't believe how rare this $100 video game is.
Why is it rare? Low shipments of this version?

That's some serious hyperbole.

It's not the best campaign ever, but it's competent and it has good moments. Why does everything have to be trash or treasure on GAF?

We live in a binary world!?

In terms of BF3, there was so much talk and so much hype, and then there was BF3/MW3 rivalry, which featured the devs making some really John Romero-esque comments about the superiority of BF3...and, well, outside of the visuals it hasn't delivered.

The campaign is really lazy. People just let the jet level convince them that it's not.

and it's still better than any of the COD campaigns since COD4.

What's sad is that it's really not...and I'm factoring BLOPS into the equation.
It is though, the only COD campaign I haven't played is MW3 but Battlefield campaign was worlds better than both MW2 and Blops.

I have to know. Does the campaign end the story? As in story over, time for a new sub-title come 2013?

I haven't played it myself, but the giant bomb review made it sound like the singleplayer does in fact end with lots of closure, so doubtful there will be a MW4.

Finished the campaign in under 5 hours on Hardened, sure it was fun, but a bit on the short side...

Can't afford Xbox Live atm so might trade it in for BF3, see how that single player stacks up. Might just get Skyrim instead!
Seems like a waste of money to buy BF3 or MW3 just for the single player.

Why is COD Elite telling me I need to play Black Ops in order to register a new account?

Will I only be able to login to Elite once I play a match of MW3?

Did you even play the COD campaigns? I had more fun with BLOPS over the top craziness, and it was a piece of shit. BF3's campaign is simply eye-candy and literally nothing more.

I love it, I love it. I don't know it doesn't really feel like MW2, it feels like a mix of COD4 and BlackOps but with so much better netcode. UMP is still too powerful IMO.

Yeah the ump is still a beast. Has anyone tried the spas yet? I heard that its weaker then MW2s.

i really want to like this game but it just blows after playing BF3. i will still give it some time but the community is already horrible and the maps suck from what I have played. le sigh.

I can't believe you guys are arguing about SP portions of these games. SP lasts 5 hours, yet you'll play multi for 10 times that.

How are the multi maps? I'm still on the fence with MW3, as BF3 is taking up my time. I pretty much hated MW2/BLOPS, but I'm assuming this one is better?

Just read the campaign's story on wikipedia.
Sucks that Soap dies =(
. The ending seem to give quite the closure though :lol

Some are really good, some are really bad, IMO.

Thanks. Didn't expect to look there so soon. It does seem like things are ended. While I hope there is a bit more detail in the game I get the feeling there isn't. That what one reads is pretty much what is shown. Oh well.

so whats up with the 360 GAF clan? who is going to create the clan?

So no
Ghost comeback
then? That sucks. I was kind of hyped for campaign specifically for that reason. Oh well.

Just played a few matches on 360. I had one moment of stuttering but the connection was great aside from that. Really shocking how quickly people drop with a couple of bullets in this game; it will take some getting used to.

Quick question, what's the point of picking Juggernaut Recon in the support kill streaks when Escort Airdrop requires the same amount of points and drops it every time (At least as far as I can tell)?

im not a shooter fan but when i got my PS3 a few years back i also received MW1. Now having played MW3 can anyone tell me why the graphics look almost worse? im being serious. unless it's my eyes. I don't know much about CoD besides playing this and MW1. :/

Multiplayer is fun but i die in like 2 shots O_o guns are so overpowered

People in here saying MW3s campaign is better than BF3... are probably correct. BF3s campaign was pretty muck. I wont be picking up MW3 just as I didn't any of CoD series since 4. I did borrow MW2 and enjoyed the campaign and Spec Ops very much, just as I did MWs campaign. I'll Probably do the same for 3.

Edit: Okay. There's a thread for opinions I see.

But lets be real. The legs of these games are in the MP, and MW just doesn't stack up to BF3.

There is a dedicated thread for the great debate.

some maps are really tight , as in congested and lots of hallways/corners.

the worst map is the destroyed highway imo, every time i play that there are campers

you should rent it at red box since theres no online code

According to who? People who don't like CoD games?

I hope we get to hear more from those people!

For the Prestige Shop stuff, does the two hour timer thing count from the moment you purchase (meaning menus, lobbies, etc) it or ONLY when in-game?

Welp. Read the big ending spoiler for SP. Guess whenever I do decide to get the game mp all the way. it was my own fault though.

Why you doing this, brah?

Anyone know if you can disable individual perks when you unlock them all in the Specialist package?

I want to turn off Stalker (faster ADS) because it makes it harder to stay on target as the movement speed is too fast.

Mate, it's only my opinion. But I loved the first MW. I poured loads of hours in to that game and still remember it very fondly. So I'm not here just to make controversy. MW campaigns have been great fun for me and Spec Ops I loved loved loved. Edit: nothing to see here.

That is the superior alternative to Black Ops, where it took damn near half a clip to kill someone if you were lucky.

I LOVE Free-For-All.

GOTTA GO FAST

Ump 45
Kick
Silencer

Sleight of Hand Pro
Quickdraw Pro
Stalker

Haven't unlocked Marathon yet, will definitely consider it.

Support Package with booby trap package (yeah, I'm that asshole), and I use an Advanced UAV Stealth Bomber Combo (activate one then the other). Will try out EMP for maximum trolling. I've gotten top 3 in every single match except for the ones where I've joined late.

Overall it's my favorite MW multiplayer so far. Level 20 now or around there. Can't wait to switch it up and jump into Search and Ground War later.

COD does several things much, MUCH better than BF3. The entire front-end, for instance. The UI, sound design, engine stability and frame-rate, for another. The controls, too.

Your allegiance to one game will depend on which factors are important to your experience. Personally, I like both. Don't be so foolish to treat it as a black and white comparison.
