this is super intense, I don't follow fighting game tournaments but the patience both players have are nuts.

For SF4 there was. Constantly online since release. SF3 got ignored for other games because people didn't care for the way it played.

I played SF4 and was actively involved in the community in many ways. Lots and lots of people didn't like it. There was no prevailing sentiment that the game was broken in an unfun way. (Except Elena ) Even Vanilla SF4 for all of it's busted jankiness was still fun.
