Capsized |OT| It's only a screenshot...

Kinda looks like Trine gameplay. I hope it's a little tighter then Trine. It was a good game, but the controls were sloppy.

I'm finding it infinitely more tight than Trine. Trine also drove me nuts with it's floatiness.

You'll never get rid of floatiness with physics involved, but Capsized feels very good. I never feel like I'm fighting with the terrain.

@Stallion, why are the small pictures linked the OP. The ones from the official page seem better :D.

Also game is looking great, wondering why its not coming to 360/PS3 (yet).

@Noogy
Do you know if the final game was still build with XNA?

It is. It'll prompt you with the standard XNA install that other titles like Magicka used. Interestingly, it prompted me to install 3.1, but since I have 4.0 and was afraid it would screw things up, I cancelled. The game still ran fine, though. Just something to think about.

MS is a cunt when it comes to putting stuff on XBLA now (publisher BS).

PSN is down.

PC is indie dev heaven.

Well it seems getting a game on PSN is even harder than XBLA. But all this exclusive on one platform BS is annoying anyway...

Anyway considering its an XNA game porting to PSN might take a while anyway... (if ever).

Nice edit ;).

Looks neat.
Obviously I'll be getting it on the PC but the PSN version would be tempting with Move support since it seems like it would be a great fit for this game.

But the thing about this possibly being PC exclusive is that no one paid them to do it, it was probably just their only option. Blame the cunts who run the other two platforms.

That's pretty obvious (sadly :/).

Seeing that is an XNA game, they have XBL indie channel as an option, probably it wasn't a profitable option...but well...

I think if it does Magicka numbers they might get some more publisher interest. That game has made millions on the PC.

400 MS is worth what 5$? Poor devs (with an awesome game).

The guys might not want to have to use a publisher though. That requirement seriously sucks.

I can see why the Braid guy said he only put detail on the places you can get to. It's rather distracting in the screens and video to have so much detail all over.

One can only hope that MS will one day get better with this ... oh wait ... I am loosing touch with reality here, forget what I said :|.

It's not a requirement. They can self publish but it makes it much more difficult to get a greenlight and pass cert, especially on XBLA. MS prefers to work with publishers with at least one release on the platform.

It doesn't look that demanding, anyways. Anyone with a PC should be able to play it unless they're still on Windows 98 or something. Of course, no achievements could be a deal breaker, since they are integral to the enjoyment of a game.

Last I heard, getting on XBLA full-fledged (not the indie channel) requires a publisher or MS to publish it.

Yes that, and if MS publishes they pretty much want exclusivity ... (all or at least consoles).

Well...not really..

OS: XP/Vista/Windows 7
Processor: Dual-core processor (Intel Dual Core 2.0 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 5200+ 2.6 GHz)
Memory: 1.5 GB RAM
Hard Disk Space: 1.0 GB free space
Video Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible
Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound cards

WTF @ the requirements. Is XNA just a really shitty/bloated toolset? There are PCs below those requirements that can run Half-Life 2 maxed out!

I was just joking, but I meant 360 achievements since they do determine a purchase for some people. That's the last we'll speak of that, though, look forward to teh demo.

Let's hope for a demo... But the game looks definitely very nice. The art style is outstanding.

Surprised local co-op isnt a selling point. No one's even talking about that, could be cool i guess.

One of the main reasons I'll probably be picking this up later today when it's up. Though I might wait and read some impressions of it first.

Its pretty cool to see Seth Rogen and Ethan Hawke doing something different and becoming game developers
My first thought was Ryan Reynolds, but Ethan Hawke is pretty good too.

Got my review copy through this morning and, between eating and the Royal Wedding, I've managed to squeeze in an hour or so; looks amazing, handles well (though probably better with a pad), no slowdown, at least that I noticed though I'm not especially sensitive to that stuff. Would definitely recommend this so far.

How come that there is no pre-order for this game on steam? Anyway, I'll buy this as soon as I get back home : )

Edit: The game is out!

I snapped it up as soon as I saw it was available to be purchased a little bit ago. Played around in the first level a bit, really like how the game feels. Only issue I saw was the world scrolling when walking around isn't smooth, it stutters, which is disappointing, probably won't bug most people though. Really love the music so far. Haven't tried it with a controller yet, hopefully it translates well. I didn't care for Trine on the controller and this controls somewhat similar to that.

I'm curious if this is really a Metroid-style game, or just level-based with some exploration. It looks like it could feel like Super Metroid.

Solar Fields really fits the overal feeling of the game, no new material though (Mostly some stuff from Movements)
