Cat Bites Are Linked To Depression

Does the article indicate that cat bites are specifically causing depression? Or just the toxicity within their droppings which can transmit and infect humans who handle cat litter without proper protection?

Because who in their right mind would clean the trays without gloves??

Is this the same as that thing cats have that can make their owners not notice or even enjoy the smell of their piss and shit?

Where did you hear this nonsense? I've had cats all my life and I know when my cat uses the litter box because I can smell it and I clean it ASAP because I dislike the smell.

While true, dogs have never, ever, ever, ever made a mess in the house. Cats are very well known to randomly decide to not use their litter box, even when kept pristine. I've seen this first hand. Good owners or not, cats sometimes decide to pee on stuff. Especially when they get older.

This is simply untrue and I can't fathom why anyone would ever believe that a dog would never and has never taken a shit in the house. Unless you're talking about your dog, in which case, you're lucky, or constantly home.

Cat digs hole in litter box, poops in hole, then covers the hole. Cat then cleans paws by licking them. Cat also cleans their own asshole by licking it.

They go everywhere with me, unless we are doing something like going out to dinner. And yeah, I meant my own.

I also housebreak dogs by taking them outside at least once an hour. Then they stay in a crate at night, until they're grown up enough anyway.
Fucking cats. I love cats, but I hate them.
This.

Well there you go. Your average dog shits in the house at times, and not in a little box with scented "sand" designed for them to shit in and then have the smell covered up.

As I've said on my previous post, this kind of study (if it's indeed ecological) is not suitable to establish causal relationship. Also, owning a cat is only weakly associated with acute T. gondii infection -- there are other risks factors, that are more important. And, just for the record, "fresh" cat feces are not infectious (but regardless, you should always use gloves to clean the trays).

Growing up in my moms house, she threatened to give our cats away if we didn't clean up after them, so learned that you can see the cat piss with a black light and I've used one ever since, I mostly use it around their cat litter to make sure they don't track any on the floor. Works pretty well.

Don't worry, I learned this secret from the Cat Daddy; my main mizzle in tha hizzle, Jackson Galaxy. I was just wondering if there was a specific incident which led you to get your own.
