For you fellow Jukebox collectors, Axis Mundi's unlock issss...

Heartful Cry from Persona 3 FES.

Not quite what I was hoping for after going through that hell, but it'll do.

To anyone who finds this game hard- there's really no shame in playing on easy mode a couple times to get the hang of it. Remember, games are entertainment. Not masochism.

I still found easy mode too hard. I'm really bad at this game. It's the time pressure. Makes me into a bumbling idiot.

I still have to get all the Golds on Hard mode and clear Rapunzel, and the Platinum is technically an easy get.

(Well, that and the five endings I have left.)

Man, now that the PAL one is finally out I could get the 360 version.

I've got so many games already to play at the moment though........ :( I really shouldn't, don't need it.

I know if I wait it'll become rare, if I get it and not play for ages it'll price drop! >_<

I was okay until the gimmick stages appear. I don't mind having to figure out combinations for the average stage, but when you throw in blocks that can vanish/switch at a moments notice, it becomes an exercise in frustration.

^You can start on Normal, you'll have the Undo option which should keep you out of trouble in some situations. Also, you'll get better faster.

Only Axis Mundi left until Platinum here! I wonder if I can do it today!!

Okay, first impressions: This is a weird game.

It has the visual design of some odd soft-porn movie... about sheep. And yet it fits the game pretty well. Got to day 3, I think, and is pretty much square in the center of the red/blue thing. Still, the puzzles are fun, even if things get a bit hectic at times.

Will need to play some more to find out what the deal is with this game.

If you've got a friend/GF/Wife/sibling around play it with them. I had a friend over and the two of us finished this game in 2 days. It was one of the funniest, funnest, most enjoyable gaming experiences of my life. Its even better if the other person is into puzzles, visual novels, anime, etc.

I'd agree with this, I can only see the gameplay becoming a pain if the difficulty becomes too much. Apart from that the overall atmosphere is fantastic, every time I began a new stage I couldn't wait to make it back to the bar.

Just got this game a few weeks ago, and playing it very, very slowly
I actually bought the Japanese version as I'm studying Japanese.

I just cleared the first two stages- I'm really enjoying it so far.

EDIT: (Just read the post above) I was playing it with my girlfriend and she was really enjoying the storyline, but it's a long distance relationship, so I will have to finish it on my own it seems.

Can someone who has ONLY the European version of the game on PS3 send me a blank message on PSN? (ID: Andrefpvs)

I want to compare trophies to see if the list is the same as the American one and if it still appears in Japanese in my PSN's language. Thanks!

Are there any major differences between the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of this game? Like is one superior for whatever reason?

Edit:

Do you have to use the d-pad only for the game? If so, I will just get the PS3 version as I hate the 360 d-pad.

wait i still don't get it... so can i switch to easy mode at any time in the game if normal is too hard then?

not sure if i should get this or not, i liked the demo but i am pretty mediocre at puzzle games, i did manage to beat the demo though lol

No, you can use the analog sticks too, but I prefer the pad as I find that it gives me more precision. A wrong flick of the stick can send me falling to my death

I'm not ashamed to say that I referred to video walkthroughs as I approached the end of the game. Working your way halfway up a stage, only to be screwed over by a boss's special attack wasn't my idea of fun!

Just finished this.

I started copying YouTube guides from the 5th night onwards. I found the gameplay to be difficult to the point of not being fun. Especially when you're dealing with boss' attacks, random traps, and all other kinds of frustrating bullshit. Even when copying guides, I was still dying way more often than I'd like, usually to things completely out of my control (hey Atlus, when you have an antagonist outright state that the main character will need luck as well as skill, you seriously need to re-evaluate your game design).

I love the presentation of the game (it doesn't disappoint after playing Persona 4), but the gameplay brings the whole thing down a great deal, in my eyes.

I don't regret playing through it, but I can't bring myself to play through it again, and I'll be putting it on eBay tomorrow. I'll watch the other endings on YouTube (I got the best Katherine one).

You have to see the True Catherine ending. It's so dang good.

Also, almost every story stage can be cleared with skill. Only bosses pull BS random cards, and you can get around it easily enough.

The final night has blocks that move around at random. More than once I died because one moved while I was stood on it/I was pushed off/etc.

But my biggest problem is the ever-present threat of the time limit. If you could take your time and think about how to solve the puzzles, I'd enjoy them a lot more. But if you don't have a knack for it, you're fucked, as you're constantly rushed.

PSN menu button. Bam, instant un-blurred pause.

Thats what I loved about the game. I had to think on the fly and see what worked over trial and error (alot of error). But those last bosses were pulling some BS for sure. Made things 100x more difficult than it ever needed to be

What's the deal with the Catherine endings? I haven't seen any of them yet, but I thought that she
was revealed to be a succubus/an illusion in a cutscene before the final night. Does this cutscene play out differently if your bar is in the red? I thought only the ending was affected?

you sure about that? i could swear that in some games the game actually KEEPS on running in the background hmm

Positive. Varies from game to game.

Shotgun:

Yes, the ending will change if you side with Catherine.

You really should experience it for yourself. Give yourself an excuse to suffer-... I mean play hard mode.

I still need this, sorry to be a bother :)

I finished this today, after getting completely addicted to it in the last couple of days.

I absolutely loved it, both the gameplay, cruel as it might be, and the story, presentation, characters, music... really really great.

I got the
normal lover
ending and I can't wait to try and get the
true lover ending
tomorrow, I guess the sooner I learn Empireo like the back of my hand the better :)

I didn't find the game too hard (I guess I'm kinda used to playing with cubes thanks to Lumines), too short or too long. Most importantly, it felt immensely satisfying, something that so many games miss these days while trying to be huge and epic...

I need... more... cubes :D Rapunzel and Babel are fucking hard though, lol

Really enjoy the game, the puzzles are fun and the story and characters are interesting. Only problem I have is the sound mixing is terrible for me.

Wish I could turn down sound effects, I hate when games don't give you options like these. I have to turn it up cause I want to hear the voices but its so quiet sometimes then suddenly the game GOES REALLY OMG LOUD.

I don't mind the bell during the blocks, thats fine and gives you a sense of urgency. But whhhhy does it have to do it constantly through the mid section thing with the sheep. I want to talk to them all and hear their story but the fricking constant bell gives me a headache. >_> Makes me want to just skip them or sit in the area on mute now, which is a shame cause the voice acting is good.

Katherine 4 life. <3

Finished my PAL copy the other day and got the Katherine bad ending.
Dumped!

Fuck.

So had I to go and look up the other endings on youtube.

I got the true Katherine one. :D I spent the whole game trying to 'get her' even if it wasn't an honest answer though so was expected lol.

Only played on easy but that was still challenging enough for me, I suspect I would have just become bored and frustrated with anything harder. Easy was about my level of that kinda puzzle solving so I had some fun and enjoyed the story.

It was weird I found the last bits of the game easier than the middle ones when I expected just a gradual build up of the difficulty.

Regardless of what you wrote in the spoiler that IS pretty crazy. Teach me your wisdom ;_; I can't even beat frigging ALTAR.

Welp I'm already steamed at this game's BS.

The unresponsiveness of the controls has me livid. I've mapped out what path I'm going to take only to find that the game can't keep up with my inputs. Why in the blue fuck isn't this at 60 fps; the graphics are PS2+ at best.
