Reno's not that great a place to visit but I imagine it's not so bad for a day or two. Can get fairly cold depending on when the game is though.

9/6. Should be nice. We'll only go for the weekend. It's dirt cheap.

and I had Ark State for most of the month, changed it because of the spread and the % of team chosen.

It's either me or whoever "MSU end wiscy" guy is.

How shitty is going to a game at Nevada? We play down there this year and it's mega cheap to get down there so I'll probably go. Is Reno really that shitty?

I went down there for a Hawaii game in late September. It gets pretty cold in the stadium (it was in the 40s I think and it was pretty windy) so bring warm clothes.

As far as the area itself, I'd compare it with downtown Vegas. Not as nice as The Strip, but if you like gambling there's plenty to do.

UCF QB Blake Bortles - he gone. Got a 1st round draft evaluation and frankly, it makes little sense for him to stay given that information. He'll very likely go top 5 or 10.

Now begins the Holman/DiNovo/Harris era. Should be a good competition. Holman has some game experience courtesy of garbage time play, DiNovo redshirted and Harris is a January enrollee.

good for bortles, very good qb, reminds me a lot of one of our old QBs Lefors. Think he will make a good QB especially for a team with line issues.

Cause he's black and has a white wife and the south is racist.

That only prevented him from the two
Mississippi jobs and Auburn I believe. Florida tried to get him back after Urban spazzed the first time but the unretirement came and scuttled that. Not sure why he didn't happen a few years ago. I think he was committed to Louisville because they have him a shot, plus the mess at Florida.

Charlie was at least half responsible for our two MNCs. So excited he finally got a big break.

DAT :(

Thought the way the season went he might have come back. Hope he succeeds. Aside from that Rose Bowl comment (which deserved better contextual support from the media), he was a classy kid and all-around GREAT team-guy. Wish him the best of luck.
Kevtones will never say anything negative about an Oregon player.

I don't think Meyer would have un-retired if Strong was in line for getting the job the first time. Strong apparently was pissed he wasnt considered in 2010. One of the reasons Meyer came back was because he didnt want some guy changing all that he built at Florida, but ironically he broke by coming back not 100%. If UF really wanted Strong, we would have fired Muschamp this year and gotten him. The reason Foley fired Zook only after 2.5 years is because they wanted to get Meyer bad. If Meyer wasn't on the market in 2004, Zook might have gotten a 4th year.

THE TOURNAMENT OF ROSES® 2013-2014 VIZIO™ BCS MYTHICAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP© PASADENA BED OF ROSES™ ROSE BOWL® CHAMPIONSHIP™®

But... the MNC doesn't have anything to do with the Tournament of Roses or the Rose Bowl this year beyond the fact that it's being held in the Rose Bowl (the stadium)?

It's just the Vizio BCS National Championship Game.

Austin American-Statesman reports Saban's age and agent were negatives as was Jimbo's "prickly personality."

I shouldn't have read more twitter, was about to post this

I guess if your’e Texas you can’t really say the biggest drawbacks to Saban and Fisher were “unwillingness to take the job.”

Chase Goodbread ‏@ChaseGoodbread 29m
Florida LB Ronald Powell headed for NFL early. Production up and down post-knee problems, but can't blame him given injuries.

texas you ready for this sure to be exciting strong presser? im sure he will not struggle one bit to talk or show how charismatic he is

Totally not a Deer in Headlight.

The looks on Strong's face during the UCF game.... classic! Definitely deer in headlights and a lot of UL fans picked up on that look, or just lack of visible passion, etc. I don't actually think any of this is a big deal, but it is amusing.

There's rose crap all over my facebook feed. FSU images on Roses.. All headlines have some terrible pun with Roses... game is played at the rose bowl.. Official Vizio website for the game is Tournamentofroses.com etc etc.

it may not be THE rose bowl.. but marketing is going crazy with rose crap.

sadly that wasnt the first or last time, but it was the worst

of course at that point we had a 21pt lead, had gone to prevent defense and were running the same run up the middle for no yards play over and over again....i mean there was only 25 minutes left in the game

Yah... It'll be interesting to see how he does. I just don't see him liking the constant scrutiny and media attention. It's like only certain people being cut out to manage the Yankees or Knicks or something. dat media machine....

Yeah, the Rutgers game this year had me worried about Strong. The one strong point of our team is our run d, and Strong kept on running and running ... when you have Teddy Bridgewater against the worst secondary in the universe.

Btw, it seems like Hermann is copying Jurich tit for tat in upgrading our facilities. Hopefully, it works out for us.

the only somewhat above par play calling his entire time here was during bowl games

good to hear about facilities, its crazy to think how much this university has grown. I grew up about 5 minutes away from campus in the projects, now the university occupies almost everything in the center of the city sans churchill downs, the city is so much better for it

I will if a certain CFB loving mod checks his PMs!!!

But really, DAT was dumb to say what he did but he's been a classy kid the whole time. Something strange happened behind closed doors with him. He came out the start of the year and was AWESOME and then after he got hurt against Cal, he just kind of faded/got passive. Maybe without Chip he lost his way? He was always a Chip-project...

Very strange and it felt like he just kind of checked out. Sad, because he's a joy to watch.

Didn't realize that we were playing Oregon so soon. Might be a good make up trip since I missed the Rose Bowl.

Holy fucking shit, I come back, and I find out St0oge is a god damn mod? What the fuck!?

Also, well, good on the Charlie Strong hire? I dunno. I am rather neutral on it. I mean, its not Jim Mora, but it ain't Sabin -7 years, either.
