For anyone that doesn't want to watch the Iron Bowl, but wants to listen to people call into Finebaum during the Iron Bowl, SECN's doing a call in show during the Iron Bowl.

Any NeoGAF shout outs will be rewarded by Cyan.

This sounds like it will be amazing.

Congrats to UNC, UW, Stanford, Florida and SCAR on becoming bow eligible this past weekend. Oregon State, Oklahoma State and Michigan are all facing probably the hardest roads to eligibility this weekend and the loser of the Virginia/Virginia Tech is also going to be on the outside looking in.

Also by conference:

AAC 5
ACC 9
Big 12 6
B1G 9
CUSA 6
MAC 5
MWC 6
Pac-12 8
SEC 11
Sun Belt 6
Georgia Southern isn't bowl eligible, even though we won our conference and will likely have 9 wins, due to this being our first year in the FBS. Same thing for App State.

I'm always impressed by how well Auburn and Alabama fans manage to up the intensity without using profanity. They get creative with their insults.

... the very reason picture-in-picture function was created... Can our televisions handle this?

Another notably heated game came in 1968. The contest was expected to decide which team would go on to the Sun Bowl, but before the game, Arizona coach Darrell Mudra issued an ultimatum to the Sun Bowl committee that his team would not play in the bowl unless they were selected regardless of who won. The committee chose Arizona, who promptly lost to Arizona State by a score of 30-7 in what became known as the "Ultimatum Bowl".

This also led to the creation of the Fiesta Bowl so ASU wouldn't get left out of a bowl again.

This was after U of A alums on the Board of Regents continually blocked Arizona State College from becoming a university until the ASC students put together a petition and got a ballot initiative to grant university status to their school. It passed in 1958 which is when Arizona State first became a university.

Basically, the University of Arizona can suck a choad!

Theyre taking beat Michigan week to a whole new level. Usually on Michigan week students go around campus and cover every single M with a red X.

This was spotted today on campus...

Can't wait to see if any drunken Coug fans (redundant lololol) run on the field this year and sucker punch one of our players.

Or maybe they'll throw ice balls at one of our players again if they're getting carted off with a broken leg.

Or maybe they'll just throw frozen water bottles from the higher seats into the visitor seating section.

It's what you do when your rivalry isn't cool enough to have a random object that's been stolen back and forth and acquired some kind of significance.

The only random object that Rutgers has is with Princeton, le sigh.

I would have been on the leaderboard twice had I not botched the first pick :lol

so I wonder how many upsets there's going to be this week, it is rivalry week after all

Absolutely hate to hear that about Eric Berry, he along with his family are class acts. Here's hoping he's able to pull through. Ugh, fuck cancer.

Georgia Tech has lost 12 out of the last 13 against Georgia. I think college rivalries are some combination of dumb and harmful in general, but even if not, those are very long odds. It's a bit silly that that particular rivalry is still promoted as a thing, it's so one-sided.

I hope that Georgia Tech focuses (continues to focus?) on being a top engineering and research school since they seem pretty good in those areas. I guess football is weirdly necessary for alumni but I sure wouldn't want it to be the main focus.

It's Troy Aikman week at UCLA. I believe they're retiring his number.

UCLA celebring his moment and hopefully winning the PAC-12 south.

Thanks, Pac-12 officials!
The Pac-12 Conference acknowledged that its instant replay crew made two errors in the Stanford-California game Saturday, November 22, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

During a California possession late in the third quarter, the instant replay crew reviewed three consecutive on-field touchdown calls by the game officials on one California offensive possession.

The NCAA Playing Rules state that to reverse an on-field ruling, the replay official must be convinced beyond all doubt by indisputable video evidence.

Through the Conference’s officiating and game management review process, it was determined that there was not enough evidence through video replay for the instant replay crew to overturn the second and third touchdown calls made by the officials on the field.

The replay crew will be held accountable for the errors through the Conference’s disciplinary process.
Probably didn't make a difference in the end, but that sequence was maddening.

Cal can become bowl eligible with a win against BYU on Saturday. Here's hoping Cal shows up for that game.

Because the two things are mutually exclusive?
