Honestly? I was talking with my friends about this too before GOTG. I figured they'd just go with The Panther, or maybe Black Panther in the title, but never call him that in the movie.

the series by Priest is a must read. If you enjoy nonlinear story telling, its one of the best in Marvels repertoire
