Passage of time is so strange as you get older. I remember being a kid in 1993 thinking shit from 1983 was fucking ancient. Now it feels like Chappelle Show was just a few years ago.

One of my favorite sketches is when he takes John Mayer and Quest Love to a barber shop up in Harlem I think, and they play different types of music to see what happens. LOL!!!

One of the best shows of the last decade. Arguably ever. I miss him so damn much. Wasn't there talk recently that Chris Rock was trying to get him to tour with him?

This is tied with the Top Gear as the greatest TV show ever.

Every fucking line from this show is a quotable, I don't even know where to begin. But this thread has put a smile on my face already.

It's pretty crazy how popular the show was. I don't know how it was for you guys, but I was in middle school when it started up, and during gym class, we'd all be talking about the new episode.

There was no show that was that popular in my life before. You watched the new Chappelle and you knew everyone in school would be talking about it the next day. I think Black Bush was my favorite skit

"Oil? You cooking, bitch?" That or cribs, "I don't fuck with Africa cause people are starving and shit, and that's not baller to me"

It's hard to pick, but my absolute favourite skits:

Rick James
Prince
Pretty White Girl
Three Daves
The Mad Real World
The Playa Haters Ball
The Time Haters
Piss On You
Turn My Headphones Up
SAMUEL L JACKSON, ITS MY BEER
The Racial Draft
Negrodamus
World Series of Dice
I Know Black People
Jury Duty
Making Da Band
Nelson Mandela's Boot Camp
Black Bush
Wayne Brady
Howard Dean
MTV Cribs

...fuck that's like half of all of the skits. Okay if I really had to narrow it down to 5:

Three Daves
The Player Haters Ball/Time Haters (yes I cheated)
Rick James
Making Da Band
Black Bush

MARCY SON, WHAT?

Doing your taxes? Is that's what's hot in the streets right now?
Using your anytime minutes? Is this 'any time'?

Why do I remember all this? I haven't seen the show in years.

still one of my all-time favorites, i kept thinking i needed more in my life till i finally watched some of season 3 last year...yeah, i'll just wait till Dave feels like workin on something again

That live performance of Back in the Day by Erykah Badu was better than the studio version.

I was kind of depressed realizing that it's been 10 years since it first aired, but reading this thread has raised my spirits again.

I was just about to post those quotes.

I really do think Making Da Band is the best skit ever tied with Playa Haters.

If I had my way, I'd never work. I'd just stay home all day, watch Scarface 50 times, eat a turkey sandwich and have sex all fucking day. Then I'd dress up as a clown and surprise kids at schools. Then I'd take a dump at the back of a movie theatre and just wait until somebody sat in it and hear it squish. That's funny to me. Then I'd paint and read and play violin. I'd climb the mountains and sing the songs I like to sing, but I ain't got that kind of time.

You could make a Chappelle channel that just plays Chappelle show and his stand up, and I would still watch it on the regular.

I was watching his one hour gig on youtube from San Franciso four days ago.

10 years man? Well... and nothing except work had changed.

Your finest moment Enzo.

Playa Haters Ball is the best sketch by far. Quotables for days.

He sure looks shiny to me!

Black Bush doesn't get enough love. That skit is fucking fire

That still gets quoted when I'm hanging out with my friends. Such a funny skit.

"Oil!? who said anything about oil? Bitch, you cooking?"

"We got the coalition of the willing ready to roll son!"
"oh yeah? like who?"
"Who the fuck said that?!"

Racial draft was great too.

Going to bust out the DVDs and rewatch the 2.1 seasons.

Before the time of anything you want On Demand so had to actually remember to watch it when it aired. I saw and remembered his HBO standup special earlier and so I was watching the premiere that night.

Looking at the list of sketches there was more in-betweens than you remember. But I only needed Frontline: Clayton Bigsby and Tyrone Biggums Classroom Visit in episodes 1 and 2. Those had me rolling. I think I was actually crying when Tyrone Biggums took a dump in the street.
