The fast-food chain is bringing grilled chicken to its morning menu and introducing two new ingredients: egg whites and English muffins.
Add some American cheese, and you've got the new breakfast item dubbed the Egg White Grill. It will be available nationwide on Monday starting at $3.35.
"At Chick-fil-A, we’re constantly looking for innovative and delicious ways to meet the needs of our guests," said David Farmer, vice president of menu strategy and development. "We understand the importance of breakfast and the impact it has throughout the day. We tested the Egg White Grill in select markets across the country, including our busiest restaurants in Manhattan, and our customers gave us great feedback. The Egg White Grill is the perfect solution for our health-conscious customers looking for a grab-and-go breakfast."
The Egg White Grill will replace the spicy chicken biscuit.
Chick-fil-A has been serving breakfast since 1986, when it added a fried chicken sandwich on a biscuit. But while that item has 440 calories and 16 grams of protein, the new egg white sandwich is a lower-calorie option at 300 calories and 25 grams of protein.
This renewed focus on breakfast is a natural next step for the chicken chain after research commissioned by Chick-fil-A found breakfast has grown across the fast-food industry by 60 percent in the last five years.
While egg white sandwiches have become a staple at McDonald's, Starbucks, Subway and more, Chick-fil-A's new sandwich is one of the first to add grilled chicken.

Another change from a few months ago:

The chain is adding a new sweet-and-spicy Sriracha sauce and changing the recipe for three of its core sauces, barbecue, buttermilk ranch, and buffalo.
"Customers have been saying that they want bolder, spicier flavors," David Farmer, Chick-fil-A's vice president of menu strategy and development, told Business Insider.
Chick-fil-A started experimenting with Sriracha because it's a "trending flavor," Farmer said.
The company describes the sauce as "a sweet and tangy sauce made with chili peppers for a spicy twist."
The barbecue, buttermilk ranch, and buffalo sauces will be replaced with new versions called smokehouse barbecue, garlic herb ranch, and zesty buffalo.
Chick-fil-A has been testing the sauces in select cities in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. The company will be rolling them out nationwide in the second half of the year.
