Really good episode, and definitely one of the best of the last two seasons. No relationship garbage, no ludicrous Volkov/Mama B plotlines, some really great character moments, and everyone had something to do in it.

- Sarah's flash face, nice
- Chuck and Sarah's reaction after Beckman puts the entire CIA onto the Peralta case was priceless
- "some guy just totally exposed himself on the Super Shuttle" :lol
- Yvonne makes for a sexy jew!
- the styrofoam cake cutting sound :lol
- Sarah's dad talking down the baddie and the reveal of Alex's mom seeing Casey being a hero were both nice
- final scene was nice

Hey, small glimmer of hope everyone!

Like every season, Chuck's fate remains up in the air while they shot the finale. "Every year we're always wondering if we're coming back or not and this season is no different," Zach says to us. "The writers have been very good always about writing a final episode that has closure but also has kind of an open feel to it. And we do that again this year." If, horrors upon horrors, this is Chuck's last season, fans will get things wrapped up. Personally, we feel pretty good about Chuck's renewal chances, so it's good to know that the finale opens up more spy-nerdiness for next season.

So the cliffhanger might not be as huge as we thought, and Chuck apparently still has a shot at renewal.

PS: About last night's episode, I loved it. It reminded me a lot of last season's Chuck vs. the Honeymooners, in that they're both rather light in tone and standalone episodes. Good stuff.

PPS: I miss my Morgan avatar :(

About the only thing I wish the show could have handled better was the Casey - Kathleen reunion. For a moment he had been preparing himself for, his response was horribly flat and incomplete. There was an opportunity for a rare dramatic moment for Adam Baldwin, but the writer's room seemingly struck out without getting the bat off their collective shoulder. Maybe we'll get that in the next few episodes, and it's a matter of pacing out the good stuff; for the purposes of having one, shining example of why I've loved this show as much as I have these past few years, I wish it could have come tonight.
I just finished the episode, and while I really liked it as a whole, I agree with this. Casey as a character has developed quite a bit over the last few seasons, but for some reason Adam Baldwin is never really given much of a chance to show his acting chops. The guy can be legitimately touching (see: Firefly episode Ariel) but all we really get to see is grunting in vague approval or disapproval, or stoically staring at something or someone. This episode was great to see more meaty material for Yvonne, I just hope that they do the same for Adam.

(also, the whole schtick of 'Casey: "I came here to stop you from doing this unsanctioned operation.", Chuck/Sarah/Morgan: "No help us instead it'll be rad!", Casey: "Oh okay I guess."' is getting a little old.)

Really, really enjoyed Monday's episode. It was a bit of a return to form as far as I'm concerned. There were moments that had me laughing out loud, and I thought they balanced everything well. Final scene was great, and Gary Cole is awesome as always.

Agree though that they could have handled Casey and Kathleen a bit better. Still, it feels like things are moving forward in a lot of ways.

I like how Sarah seemingly has no problem paying for her wedding with thousands and thousands of dollars of presumably stolen money.

A couple other cancellation / renewal related articles:

- Deadline.com looks at the NBC pilots for next year:
Boy, where do we begin. NBC is in such a bad shape, especially on the drama side, that Law & Order: SVU might be the only returning drama series the network brings back next season, plus possibly midseason entry Harry's Law. With everything else doing so poorly, Chuck might beat the odds once again, but one thing is for sure: new NBC chief Bib Greenblatt will have to pick up a lot of new series, especially on the drama side.

Well, with this kind of publicity, hopefully NBC is in a position where they have to bring Chuck back. Bring it back for either a 13 or 19/22 episode season and declare it as the last. So much ill will towards NBC already and continually sagging ratings and failing shows it would be stupid for them to piss off the few people that are still even watching their network.

Usually "stupid" and "NBC" go together a lot though. So I would not be surprised.

Really good episode this week. Sarah's dad is really something - what he did at the end, with the money and all, almost made me tear up. Season 5 or not, I've really enjoyed watching this show. If it doesn't get renewed, I hope it ends with a really satisfying closure. BTW, When is Jeffster coming back?

Oh and here's a pic of me getting my Chuck on.

Guy on the left looks hardcore.

Haha, that's my best friend, and also spur of the moment internet minister who ended up marrying my wife and I.

He called me up a few days prior, and just says "hey, I need you to come by Wednesday and shave my head into a Mr. T haircut".

That was fun.

I fucking love that Supernatural is on there. With that couple headline, all I can think about is the fanfic between the brothers.

NBC is rerunning "Chuck versus the Honeymooners" tonight, then we'll get three new episodes starting next week to close out the season (series?). We'll probably get a preview for next week's episode (Agent X) after tonight's rerun.

Fuck NBC :( Is there an actual reason for the rerun? Or is it just NBC's normal bullshit?

They do it so they can stretch the season until mid May. And it's not just NBC, FOX, ABC, and CBS do it too.

Oh shi...next week just might be all kinds of awesome. But I kinda wish I hadn't disregarded the warning...that is one MAJOR spoiler.

Speaking of next week's episode teaser
we already knew that Chuck wasn't the first intersect, wasn't it originally Orion? These teaser implies that there is another person?

That, or Orion isn't dead. But realistically yes, there probably is another person, and it's likely to be someone we know. I'm thinking Mama B or Ellie.

I'm assuming it was Mama B, but something happened. The whole thing about being gone so long... she really couldn't have been that bad of a spy.
