I might be able to watch live tonight for the first time in months. Chuck and election night should be fun...

Chuck Day!

Enjoy the episode!

I am very much hoping that Fedak is joking about that potential storyline if they get a fifth season. That is about the last thing I would ever actually want to see on Chuck :|
Unless it was Jeff and Lester
adopting.
Then I am 100% for it.

Oh hey there actually is a Chuck thread here. Wish I'd ventured into these parts sooner.

Is anybody else disappointed during Chuck's conversation with Ellie that
he never bothered to explain that the CIA totally sabotaged his efforts to get a real life back
? I guess ultimately it doesn't make much difference but it's something that felt awfully glossed-over.

I'm calling it now: Agent X =
Tuttle/Volkoff

As soon as they said that house was in England I said the same thing.

I still have to say WOW to that.
So does any one think that if there's a season 5 a good part of it will be trying to reverse what happened to Volkoff?

Really enjoyed that one outside of the rather lame and predictable Volkov/X twist. I just don't care about the character, despite Dalton being entertaining. Otherwise, the bachelor party that wasn't made me laugh, as did the trip to Reneaux, and the old lady blowing her house up, and there was some great character interaction in there too. It was nice to see Chuck and Ellie have a lot of scenes together.

- Sarah: "you really have never been to Vegas, have you?"
- Las VeCas :lol
- Big Mike: "it's about steaks, gambling and getting into some freaky stuff that will likely haunt you for the rest of your life" :lol
- really liked the scene with Ellie in Castle and finding out that Chuck is the Intersect
- old woman: "they ruined my primroses. Eat lead, you bastards!"
- Casey mouthing "wow" at the old lady firing the gun :lol

Yeah, the Volkoff twist was fairly predictable. As soon as Ellie said 1980 I thought it, then when the house was in England it was easy. Chuck's never been very unpredictable with twists. Still a solid episode, though.

I wonder what all the numbers/letters on the silver disc mean.

Judging by comments every week here, every twist is lame and predictable.

Well, Chuck has never been that good when it comes to surprise twists. And honestly, anyone else outside of Volkoff (as predictable as it was) would be pretty stupid. Unless Harry Tang came back to be Agent X. That would have been awesome.

I don't really have much to add that Solo didn't already hit. I am glad he finally talked to Ellie. That should have happened back in the first part of the season, although I do like the way it played out in this episode. Also, we need a lot more scenes of Sarah in the bathtub.

First time I saw them I immediately thought it was a Youtube video id.

Some good moments this week, most of which have already been covered by Solo. The Volkoff "twist" was pretty obvious. I'm curious where that leaves us for the last two episodes - at the very least we're getting some more Dalton. Nice to get a bit of Ellie and Chuck time, though it's a bummer they didn't give Ray Wise more to work with. Anyone else have Billy Ocean stuck in their head now?

I liked the episode a lot. I enjoyed the twist with Volkoff, and it easily explains why Dalton was not really that Russian to begin with. And it also explains more as to why Mary would go so deep undercover.

Loved the old lady though. She was awesome.

Strangely, I was most impressed that they actually got one of the new Radiohead songs for the ending. The power of Chuck.

Despite the Agent X twist being one of the most obvious of all time, it actually serves as an interesting development. Dalton assuredly coming back is also a giant plus.

Daphne Moon's mum shooting the machine gun was one of the biggest laughs the show has given me. They need to bring her back!

Hilarious episode. Episodes with the full cast always seem to be packed with the most jokes.

Yvonne in the bath was just gratuitous. I like it.

Was Beckman in this one? She is never the center of laughs, but she is the only main cast member not in the episode I think. But it was nice seeing Big Mike and Jeffster together.

Gratuitous and wonderful.

I loved her reaction to the strippers though.
"Is that a gun? Oh. No, it isn't."

Actually now that you mention it, I don't think she was. My bad. Maybe I should reword that. Episodes with Jeffster, Big Mike and Awesome = hilarious.

I have this problem now where I can't watch a scene with Yvonne in it without being on the lookout for good GIF material. :lol

My wife complained that Yvonne's fake English accent was terrible. Had to remind her that she's Australian and her fake American accent isn't so great, either. Heh.

As much as I love Chuck, I hate seeing the Tuesday bump for this thread. I've not even looked yet, but I expect to see bad news...

Oh boy, it was actually up a tick!

Great Episode it even had Gun Milf Porn.

I hope they will resolve all this and this last 2 Episodes as i don't expect a 5 season.

McNeill did an interview this week with Serienjunkies.de where he spoilered some stuff and that they prepared two endings for season 4 one with an cliffhanger and one that feels like complete Story.

Good. Hopefully they know before airing it if it is renewed or not, then put the other ending as an extra on the DVD set.

Ah, interesting. Makes sense for them to do it that way. The NBC Upfront presentation is the same day as the finale, so someone's going to know if it was renewed/canceled before then.

I just realized that i read that wrong on my Cellphone in the Lunch Break. They have prepared a Finale that feels Complete but keeps some question open. And that there will be some surprise decisions by Chuck in the Finale.

Really sorry for that mistake in my last post my Boss disturbed me a lot while reading the Article on Serienjunkies.

Here is a link to that Interview sorry my English is to bad to translate it for you.

http://www.serienjunkies.de/news/fedcon-interview-chuck-produzent-mcneill-32052.html

He also said that Fedak and Schwartz presented their Plot of Season 5 to NBC.

No worries, and thanks for the link. That description (and the translation) sound pretty similar to what we've been hearing other places: there's some closure in the finale, but a few things will be left open in case there's a S5.

Enjoyed last night's episode. The evil agent was smokin' hot. Nice twists along the way, and glad to see Chuck and Ellie revealing their secrets. Good, solid, episode without going overboard on anything.

Really enjoyed this episode. Predictable twist once the episode got going, but an awesome development nonetheless and like PhoncipleBone said it kind of explains the ridiculous "20 years undercover" Mama B backstory. I wonder if the writers developed the Agent X/Volkoff story early on or after the full season order. Push Mix had such a feeling of finality to it.

Something worth mentioning: the house explosion looked pretty decent! I think they may have done some (if not all) of it in the real world instead of using CG? I vaguely recall one of the cast member tweeting a pic of the interior after the destruction.

Although, if you listen to some of Yvonne's interviews, her Australian accent is fading away. Maybe she does it on purpose sometimes... who knows.

Yeah, I didn't really see the twist coming but I only watch the show and don't read any interviews or anything of the sort. It makes sense looking back at it though.

I am shocked Cornballer did not see this. But I may have missed that sly devil posting this:

From Ausiello:

Ask Ausiello said:
Question: Since you are almost as big a fan of Chuck as I am, I need to know: What is your degree of confidence that the season finale can also serve as a satisfying series finale if NBC does the unthinkable and unforgivable? —Jeff
Ausiello: To be honest, my confidence level was pretty low. But then I spoke to exec producer Chris Fedak and it shot through the freakin’ roof. Despite the finale being titled “Chuck vs. the Cliffhanger,” Fedak assured me that the episode features “some fantastic resolution to a number of the stories that we set up this season.” But as has become something of a Chuck tradition, the final scene features a “cliffhanger component that launches us very much into [a possible] Season 5,” Fedak adds. What would such a season look like? “There were a number of stories that we’ve always wanted to do – even from Season 1 – involving who Chuck is as a person and as a hero. So [Season 5] would be an extension of that.”

Question: In last week’s AA you mentioned that the Chuck season finale broke the bank, budget-wise. Care to elaborate? Do you know what was so expensive? —Jeremy
Ausiello: The mother of all action sequences, according to Fedak. “It’s set in the desert and includes a super motorcycle, lots of special effects and a truck getting blown off the road,” he says. “It has an element of Duel, which is Steven Spielberg’s first movie. There’s also an element of Road Warrior… and an ode to the television show Street Hawk, which I watched as a kid.”
