Hmm.. damn. My high density commerces aren't getting enough goods. I set up three cargo stations close to them but still no go, and my profits dropped from 25Ks to almost negative sometimes. What else can I do?

I also have 0 commercial demand out of nowhere.

Do you have cargo connections from your industrial areas connected to those around your commercial area? Sames goes for your international line.

Not just gmaps, but Photoshop, AutoCAD, illustrator - anything with a panable view and I'm jabbing at wasd like an idiot

Spending Easter with family so haven't been able to get my fix. It haunts my dreams, which are full of railways and mountain roads...

I kept running into "Not enough buyers" for my industry and, when I built a cargo train, it just imported goods (I didn't spot any exports at least). I wasn't encountering much commercial demand to make up the oversupply in industry and I'm stumped. Thought it may have been related to a city size level up, but the train wasn't enough. Any tips?

I need to download more challenging maps, stuff that forces you to curve around terrain etc. Default maps are too plain

Yes. I basically made a new line from that main line so I could spread around industrial goods into commerce areas to no success. Commercial demand is 0 and several buildings are not operating.

I had a dream last night where I was playing this game on a future New 3DS XL.

I wish that was a reality.

The next best thing, A-Train: City Simulator, comes out this month on the eShop, btw. So you can get your city sim fix that way at least.

If we pitch in, we might be able to get a custom building. We would need to spend at least $75 to get something done within a decent timeframe. If not more, considering how much busier he is now with other people's requests. Dunno what his workload looks like at the moment.

So, just throwing it out there: how many of you would be interested in pitching in to mini-crowdfund a custom made asset? For example, a neogaf themed building or something.

I feel like it'd have to be an asset pack, unless you're asking for <$1 per funder.

Interesting concept, who would you have build it?

I would pitch in for a NeoGaf server farm building.

Based on the response, I'm going to assume that a custom made building or other asset is not something that we'd be able to fund. We'd need at least 15 people to chip in 4 or 5 bucks ish, and/or a lot of people to throw in a dollar.

So I'm backing up my save to the cloud to use it on another computer and I want to make absolutely 100% sure that my file is backed up, would backing up the the save file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\XXXXXX\255710\remote on google drive make completely sure that I can use my save anywhere as long as I have that file copied into C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Saves ?

I am enjoying my organic sprawl. Might start a new one soon as this one has become kind of stale and there isn't a lot of room for expansion.

It would be fun to make a city with an overall design in mind. Growing a city based upon demand has created a few issues that are hard to build around. (I like passenger trains, but the amount of demolition required to build an effective line would be ridiculous).

I'll probably take a break soon. I've got like 50 hours in this one city and very little to show for it. :p

Anyone found any problems with just zoning intermittent variations on office/commercial/residential (high density)? I don't really like uniform blocks and tend to mix up my block compositions pretty regularly.

Why not just use Steam Cloud? Tick the box when you save your game, and it'll be available on any computer where you're signed in to Steam.

Seriously, this thread makes me wonder why there hasn't been a city builder/gta kind of game yet. Build your own open world to play in.

Patch 1.0.7c is back up. Seems to be stable so far, loaded properly with all my mods.

Edit: The build menu scrolls so much faster now holy shit.

  • French localization improved
  • General audio improvements (should help address the sound stuttering issue with some sound cards)

After this patch I've got a small bug, where all the color correction mods appears in the dropdown menu in the options as like DEFAULT_COLORSOMETHINGSOMETHING (I should have taken a screen of that, I know :D ).

All the initial confusion with Cities XL made curious about that game. I never played it, what makes it inferior to Skylines?

Most people is salty about the fact that XXL is a full price re-skin of XL.

But anyway, when I played XL several years ago, it was kinda ok (disregarding the shitty performances, still there in XXL afaik), but totally lacking any personality whatsoever and on top of that, there was yet to be the SC2013 disaster, so the competition back then was still SC4. :D

It suffers from game breaking bugs and performance problems that have been carried over for years due to the lack of any actual development on each iteration (where very little changes). It's not inherently terrible, but their business practices are scummy.
