OMG! I have to say, so far the game has met and exceed my expectations! There is everything I liked SimCity but so many things I didn't like have been fixed.. love the districts.. love the ability to make streets like you want to... I'll probably play this many years to come!

Only thing I don't like is no "drag move" the map... :F
have to use the other hand while playing.. me no like..

Dont know if thats been asked before but something is really confusing me in this game.

So when you have the orange industry things how do I know to what specialty/district I should put them in? Like for example I can specialize it as "wood economy" but is it even helping? Sorry for the bad english!

First attempt at something of an interchange.

Ok this is annoying me please help. How do I tell what direction a one way street goes? Or better yet any wat to change a already created street into a one way and then select the direction?

Since this seems to run pretty well even on moderate hardware, has anyone tested it with GeDoSaTo downsampling to get a super clean looking city?

Gah, not a fan of the DoF effect at all. I just want to zoom in and watch my minions at work.

Also, the lack of snapping for power lines and water pipes... ugh.... I can't survive this...

Check your natural resources (upper left of the screen). If you've built industry over any of the 4, then use the district toll to cover that industry. With that same tool, you can then specify what that particular industry should focus on. If it's just industry that is non specific, just district it as you would normally and don't specialize it.

Turn Tilt Shift down all the way in graphics.

Population of 950.
Better turn the game off and never come back to it again feeling like master builder /jk

Legit felt this way. Lol. But I actually went through with it, only because I'm dog tired. Need to pick this back up when I'm in the mood to learn all this complex stuff. Lol

The LazyGameReviews review sold me on it.
Is the minimum bad? I want to play this on my laptop.
Graphics don't look that intensive.

Works on Surface Pro 3 i5, though you have to drop all settings to low and reduce the resolution. Super fast on my desktop PC though.
Guess this answers my question. I have a Celeron. Will Alienware Alpha run this fine?

For your benefit and for others (because this seems to be a common complaint):

If you do not like the DoF (depth of field) effects: turn down the "Tilt shift amount" setting in the graphics options menu.

One ways go in the direction you build them. So, from the start of where you placed to where you end up - that's the direction a one way will travel. ALWAYS build one ways in the direction you want one ways to go.

Streets cannot be upgraded to a different kind of street. Two lane roads can't become one ways or vice versa. I think this also applies to making them highways, but I don't think you'll run into that, really since you can't zone on highways. If changes are needed like this, you'll have to demolition the previous laid road and build the new one.

My first city was a crime hub, haha. I was messing around with a lot of stuff and had no money for a police station which led to hilarity.

Been playing for ~2 hours, and so far my green socialist high-tax paradise is working out pretty well. I have to do something about ground pollution in the general industry district though.

If I have one complaint it's that everything is useless without roads. In some cases this makes sense, but why does e.g. my park need to be directly reachable by road?

Son of a bitch. Exactly what I feared. Fuck Unity on OS X in the ass. It will not launch on my 15" Retina MacBook Pro with the top of the line 750M GPU. It crashes halfway through the fullscreen animation. I have this problem with 95% of the Unity games I download. Fuck this fucking shit. I don't know how to fix it. I don't know how to decipher the Console messages.

I'm downloading on my iMac now. But if it doesn't work there either, I don't know what I'll do except cry.

I downloaded it and got to play for about 10 minutes on my lunch break... This is going to be the longest afternoon at work ever.

Approximately 7 of that was looking for the bulldozer icon which was hidden beneath the CD Key prompt from Steam in the lower right hand corner.

Yep, it sucks. Although for some places, you can use the dirt road and still be able to place parks. It helps in some cases.

Also on the subject of roads, mass transit is a life saver and money maker folks. And don't forget about the pedestrian pathways. They can easily turn an intersection from nasty red to that beautiful green of no traffic jams.

So after ~2 hours of gameplay I'm really liking it. Still getting the hang of building roads (especially highway onramps and such), but seems good so far. My only (minor) complaint is it seems like population progression is a bit slow. Maybe its just because I'm used to the inflated population in other games but its surprising me a bit that after 2 hours I'm only at ~5k population!

It's running fine for me on the same machine. Make sure you disable the Steam overlays as me and a few others were having a problem with that.

How do I upload an image so you have to click to enlarge it? I don't wanna take up all the screen.

Just put it in a quote

Ok the GMG thing for $29 bucks Deluxe edition was too good to pass up. I've been keeping up with the recent thread on this game and have not played a sim like this since...probably SimCity4 so I am VERY excited to have something new and allegedly great.

So is this game super similar to SimCity 4 then? Same kind of systems in place with traffic/emergency responses/living spaces etc? I know pollution is a little weird and no disasters but that's not a huge deal to me.

How do I lay power lines you guys :(

Start with a power source. Windmill for the most part. Around it you will see an AOE. Place a power line in it and then continue to daisy chain those line to an AOE around the building you need the power to get to. Once it is there, the power will spread to the other buildings on it's own.

Anyone having an issue where every five to ten seconds the get a lagging noise with the sound? Kind of like a buzzing noise. It's really annoying.

What version of OSX are you running on each? Looks like it's an issue with that.

It's not the Steam overlays. :( Unity itself crashes. The game doesn't even get to load. And Googling shows a lot of people saying Unity is fucked on Yosemite, but a lot of them are from when it was in Beta.

And fuck. It crashes on my iMac too. God. This is the fucking worst day ever.

Edit: Fixed? Maybe? Wait. Maybe???

Less than an hour now.

Also the game is only under the Valve 3 now. So close to beating TF2!

Questions for those who have it and are playing:

Do you have full control over the terrain before starting a city? As in, do I have a "budget" to modify the terrain with and once that's spent I have to either edit or proceed to city creation?

Can you make mountains and deep canyons? How high / low can you go basically?

Is there a limit to bridge length?

Is there a technology tree or any advancement that is visualized in the game? As in, do buildings get upgraded over time like in Sim City or are they always the exact same way they are when they are first built?

Shit , game is really addictive , wanted to test out for abit before sleeping and not realizing it already been 1 hour .

Any idea if mods would be able to create some quirky advisors ? They are those charming little details from Simcities .

Only popped in for a quick second to see how it would run on my ancient hardware.

AMD X4 965 3.4ghz, 8gb of ram, and a Radeon HD 5870. It's like a 4-5 year old build and I've done little to upgrade it since it was built.

Have to say - i'm SHOCKED at how well this runs. I had to go and grab a savegame from Steam with the population built up to make sure - and it still ran fine. This is with everything up on High and running at 1900x1200. It's not buttery smooth, the odd hitch here and there too - but man... I'm stoked I can actually play this now, and even at decent settings!

If the city starts to get too big to tax the current setup, I've at least got some wiggle room left till I splurge and built a new rig.

Good job CO! Now to impatient wait for work to be done so I can hop in and actually PLAY the damn thing.

My god this game is hard, I have 4 wind turbines and it almost isn't enough for my city with 2.200 inhabitants. And I don't have that much money either :/

Oh my god. How. How could Unity's crashing be fixed by doing that one thing I never think would actually work...

I repaired permissions. And now the peaceful music is playing in the background while I am typing this. Now to launch the game and make sure it works....

Trying to love this game but I have way better than the recommended specs yet the game feels so laggy when I move. Is there a way to correct this? I already lowered a lot of the in game settings to medium.
