Class of Heroes 2 Physical Release [UMD+PSN for $36] order forms up, min-2500 units

Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but I'm really surprised 2300 actually followed through and ordered it. I really expected half the people that signed on not to buy it.

So Vic, shipping address being different from billing is fine right? ! 0_o

Billing Address=Current Address/Address associated with Credit Card

Shipping Address=Future home address in a month from now: for me.

*thumbs up?*

Well, there are multiple motivations expressed for doing so:

1. Trust that the game is good, the gameplay videos look good, and support now increases the likelihood of more in the series coming past CoH3.

2. Support the effort to prove it can be done. Other pubs big excuse for digital-only RPG releases removed at that point.

3. Trust Gaijinworks, and want to support the effort.

4. WD nostalgia.

And I'm sure some people are a mix of two or more of the cited, but all of them benefit hardcore gamers and collectors in the end.

The support is very much appreciated.

Amazon does the bulk of the fraud checking, so if you can check out and get an order confirmation from them, you're golden (but I would say it will probably be fine).

when there are literally dozens of great RPGs for PSP that could be licensed. We'll concentrate on those.
my dream psp localization....
Princess Crown
though i imagine if that one was ever coming it would have had to have been atlus to bring it over.

I imagine there are plenty of great ones I just don't know about though.

Ordered mine the first day it went up, but might as well join in on the BUMP fiesta.

I'm looking forward to people freaking out about them. Can't deny the value of a good group freak out.

Quite interested in this ^_^ SUIKO GAIDEN 1 AND 2 GO! -ahem-

Hope these will work on Vita Day 1, as well. It's quite cool to have that possibilty; playing something like Alundra on a portable with speakers isn't something I would have anticipated ever doing, back when it first came out...

I'd be so happy with that. Always wanted to play it... would love to see some of the PSP downloads of Japan reach the american digital store, for Vita / PSP purchase.

I actually still want the Generations of Chaos / Neverland Fighter to get released, even if only a curiosity (and didn't it come out in Europe?) I enjoyed GOC in my early PSP days...

Not to go off topic, but I just had a flash thought out of nowhere; I wondered what it cost to manufacture the LSSS:C Deluxe Edition (was there even a regular edition?: i forget). I mean, I remember that I think that it was 69.99msrp back then, and it just seemed like such a classy and beautifully put together game that I remember thinking that it was an excellent deal for only 20 more bucks over the 49.99 msrp's of that day.

Of course you may not be able to be that transparent, but curiosity still resides in me nonetheless... :P

There was a "regular edition", however it's quite rare as it was a rerelease with special fan made disc art.

And LSSS:C actually retailed for $59.99 in the US.

Yeah, that level of transparency might be *too* much. Suffice to say, we sourced our own manufacturing and did the components ourselves. Almost all publishers at the time had Sony do all their manufacturing.

The reason it was so inexpensive for such involved deluxe packs is because ALL of them were deluxe. There was no choice. So we made over a quarter million deluxe LUNAR1, and almost as many LUNAR2, and that allowed us to hold the price at a very reasonable $69. It would have easily been over $100/set if we didn't do it that way (especially for LUNAR 2 - that pendant made that set more expensive and was very involved and time-consuming to get right.)

Good time to pop in a trivia bit about that. Here's a picture of one of the early L2 Pendant prototypes (they were all plastic, until we got close, due to mold costs and how many revisions it took):

It's impossible to localize Princess Crown. It and Devil Summoner are roms running in a Saturn emulator.

Nothing is impossible. It's a question of time, will, and cost.

I guarantee it's possible.

And would GKR be 'poaching' when it's actively been cancelled?

hmmm, that's a shame to hear.

It doesn't look bad but I am glad the final version was shiny metal. Something about being able to see my reflection in the pendant just makes it feel nicer lol. oddly enough my pendant has been sitting like 2 feet away from my computer for the last 5 months or so lol.

I REALLY hope Lunar and Lunar 2 are two of the PS1 games Vic is supposed to be announcing in June.

Somewhere pages back I pre-emptively said it would NOT be the two LUNARs to keep people from getting their hopes up yet. Still working on getting them, but they're not next.

I appreciate the info that you were able to share. I figured you wouldn't talk about detailed costs :), but I just wondered about how such a nice edition of a game could be so "inexpensive" (apparently, like a poster above corrected me, the game was actually only $10 over msrp?! 0_o) compared to the standard msrp of that time... that was really a good deal!

Lunar came out after Alundra right? Cuz if that's true, then I probably bought LSSS:C based on the experience and detail of that games features.

I can't wait to play my first Dungeon Crawler (from what I remember about old rpgs that I played with old friends when I was a young'n)! I have no idea if I'll like playing the game, but I imagine I won't hate it, so, overall, I think the ROI will be worth it mainly for the Karma and the positive ripple effect that I hope this game has on the future availability for other good previously unlocalized games!

Vic, are you able (or willing) to say if these ps1 games on the way are digital releases of prior WD games, or untranslated direct imports?

Add another copy sold (regular version). :)

Is anybody in here willing to snag the Kickstarter variant for me? I'm still annoyed at myself for missing that initiative last year... *sigh* I thought I had found somebody willing, but I can't justify paying over double the cost for one, right now.

Anybody? It'd make for another happy RPG collector, some extra cash for your trouble, and most importantly, +1 sale to Vic! :)

let me know if you find more than one person willing to do so. i'd love to get both variants as well, somehow i totally missed the kickstarter last year, dunno, i usually try to keep up with vic and gaijinworks, there will always be a special place in my heart for working designs.

The next two we're planning as PSOne PSN releases were not WD games, but they aren't unknown in the West.

That's cool! Do you have any other prototype photos you can share? Particularly any before and after photos of the products.

That one was just handy because it was in a cabinet on my desk. Most of the others are packed up and more of a pain to get to. I've shown pics of the prototype Ghaleon doll, proto plush Goemon tiger, proto Blaster Master SOFIA push, and some others at various times. This was the first time I showed a LUNAR2 pendant design prototype.

Thanks for sharing!

Despite not wearing the pendant myself [it's a collectible!] I still own and value my copy of Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete [as well as Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, Arc the Lad Collection, and many...many others].

Prototype pictures are always interesting. :)

Q: I'm moving in July, when is the physical game expected to ship? I hate to have it end up somewhere it needs not to be. :P

The physical version should ship before the end of June, but if there's an issue, just contact me here or at gaijinworks.com/interact via PM and I'll make sure it gets taken care of.

I've wanted to support this, but living in Japan it'd be quite a hassle to play a game that I can already get for cheap, and wouldn't need to buy another Vita memory card for.

I would love to support Vic for future releases, but not sure if this is the way.

Sorry for being a wishy washy supporter. I'm happy there wasn't more of me. I'll make my final decision before the deadline. :(
