Class of Heroes 2 Physical Release [UMD+PSN for $36] order forms up, min-2500 units

Can't remember if I ever responded to the poll about the physical release, but I'll be ordering mine tonight.

Let's hope everyone who said they would order does. These kinds of initiatives should never be discouraging for people willing to take the risk.

Yeah, hopefully people put their money where their mouth is. If not, then I guess a rare retail release becomes even rarer but I would rather see Vic and the gang getting the support they need.

Kinda tempted to get this if only because I want to encourage more risks like this in the future. Never heard of the game but I'll look into it a bit more tonight.

Our minimum to make it viable was/is 2500, so we had a poll of fans that would buy it if we offered a physical+digital version. We had a bit over 2700 that said they would buy it in the poll.

At this point we're relying on the fans that said they wanted it to come through. If we didin't hit the 2500 minimum, we'd have to just eat the loss because we're not going to cancel releasing it. We're too far down the road now to disappoint the fans. However, in the first 24 hours of the actual sales, we've had over 1300 physical+digital orders, so we're at about 50% of the poll number on day one.

Thanks for the explanation, good to know that the reponse has been good so far. Definitely looking forward to this since I'm a big classic Wizardry fan and enjoyed the first a lot. Dusting off my psp in anticipation.

I haven't really been following this very closely. Am I right to say that the only difference with the Kickstarter copies is the cover art?

Also, is there any way to increase the order limit in Amazon? I'd like to get 2 copies of the game, which means that I'll be paying $20 total in shipping since I'm in Singapore.

I think in the email it said you could do that but go through the process twice.

Here we go "The Amazon "Buy" system only allows a sale of one reservation voucher per click, so if you want more, you need to repeat the process and check out for each one."

Is anyone else having a problem ordering? The page loads but the Amazon link doesn't. The picture for the link loads, but the link isn't clickable.
Do you have Javascript disabled? You'll need to enable it to place the order.

The cover art and the art on the UMD. Those are the only differences.

Yup, I'm aware of that, only thing that doesn't sit right with me is having to pay for shipping twice, but I guess it's not a big deal.

And rats, now I'm regretting passing on the Kickstarter. That would've been a nice variant. :\

Got my order in. Glad that the digital code is going to be sent separate...probably will be the only sealed item i'll ever own lol.

Cover art and UMD art (unseen to date) is different for each.

i'll be placing my order on friday. hopefully there's no random early cutoff lol.

Thanks in advance for the support!

Our digital download vouchers are limited, so the only way that would happen is if we had an intense burst of sales and went over 3000 units. At that point we'd have to end sales early and/or see if we could work something out with Sony to buy more in the package deal. But since that's 300 more than even the poll, I don't think that will happen.

Did I fuck it up? I didn't see any place to decide if I was in for the KS version or the regular version.

Or is Vic matching emails to confirm, or something?

The email sent directly (only) to Kickstarter backers is the only place with the link to the KS version. The link posted on our site, twitter, etc, and the emails we sent out to the people that signed up for the poll have the link to the regular version. One way you can easily tell which version you got after the fact is the price. I priced them slightly differently. The KS version is $36.95, the regular is $36.99.

Hmm...I only "pledged" to buy one copy in the poll, but I'm almost certainly going to be picking up *at least* two. Still debating on picking up a couple additional before I place orders.

oh. you think they'll be enough DD Voucher by friday? may have to just place an order today.

Crap, I think I messed that up.

I saw both and followed the email that went to the poll folks and did it through the site itself.

Oh well, that's on me.

Thanks for the clarification, though.

I think it will be fine. The pace today has slowed down from yesterday. I'll post here, on GW and twitter if demand unexpectedly swells to put us in danger of having to end the presales early.

Until May 8th.

There's a mountain of information at the gaijinworks forum (gaijinworks.com/interact) from questions asked all day.

Hey Victor -

Just wanted to say thanks so much for doing this. When Working Designs went down, I was sad. My father used to deliver mail to you and he actually was a voice actor on Magic Knight Rayearth. The reason I tell you this is because of his work, you gave him a copy of LUNAR - which he gave to me as my first JRPG ever.

JRPGs immediately became my favorite genre, and it is all thanks to Working Designs. I'm just elated that I'm from the same city, and that you're still here working on games. So thank you once again!

And of course I ordered a Kickstarter copy immediately after getting the email. I can't wait to get back into this!

(P.S. Elemental Gearbolt on the PSN store would be amazing!)

Are you sure anti-tracking is off? It's a blue circle with a slash through it next to the refresh icon. If it's on, buttons, etc often don't work.

No lightgun support on PSOne emulation on PSN, or EGB would already be there.

I remember your dad (Isn't he Paul?). He has a great deep voice.

Did my part and ordered... even if I'm not huge into the Wizardry-style dungeon crawler subgenre, I still have to support Vic any way I can...

Ah, is it going to be separate? Very good. I'm in your same position.

Yes. Given that the physical production will lag when the digital version is available on PSN by a few weeks, we were able to split the DD vouchers from the physical manufacture so they can be emailed to buyers of the combo bundle on PSN day 1.

Same here. I didn't have any money at the time to support Vic's Kickstarter back then so if any KS backer can help me get a KS edition, that'll be swell. =]

A $5 donation to help get it funded wasn't that hard to swing (I'd totally understand if they only offered the $40 tier). =\

On the other hand, I put my money where my mouth is Vic and ordered. I appreciate you all doing this!

And your support and the support of all the others is appreciated right back. Hopefully we can change the world just a little, even if it's only in gaming.

Put in my orders for a kickstarter version and a standard version this morning, can't wait to hold them in my hands. Thanks Vic!

Crossposting because I didn't realize that there was another thread on this.

So I plan to order a Kickstarter copy of the game, but I have a question about the verification process. I use two different pseudonyms on both my Kickstarter account and the email associated with my Kickstarter account. My amazon account is also under a different name (well, my actual name) and email than either my Kickstarter-associated email or my Kickstarter account itself.

Since the verification process seems to rely matching up the names on the amazon, email, and Kickstarter accounts to ensure that they're all the same person, am I basically forced to change the name associated with my email to my Kickstarter pseudonym and then create a new amazon account using that pseudonym? Gmail's going to force me to open a Google+ account to be able to change the name on my account, even temporarily, so I'd rather not go through all of that if I know that I can avoid it.

Wow, that's a tough one. Did you forward the kickstarter email already?

I didn't. This is totally my fault for being so paranoid about using my real name with online accounts, and so I won't ask for any kind of workaround; I don't want you to violate the integrity of your verification system for one person because then that just defeats the whole purpose! I'll find some way to get the same name on everything.

Gotta chime in and say thats pretty cool.

Paranoia with your personal informaiton online isn't always a bad thing. It's better than the people that have no concept that the internet is written in ink and spew anything and everything on it, personal or not.

If you find you're stuck and can't work out the accounts, PM me and I'll hand-hold your order verification personally.

Great people like this deserve support. I've ordered 2 physical copies now... One to play, one to leave sealed. :)

Thanks for the praise, but the offer for Mad was no less than I would hope for were I in the same jam. :)

(And, thanks for the purchases, too)

If it comes to that, I'll ask for your assistance, but hopefully it won't. In the other thread, honorless gave me some good suggestions for simplifying the situation that I'm hoping will work. Thanks! I'll try and get some orders for you from some friends by tomorrow.

Did my part to support physical, niche releases and ordered one. I love that it comes with a psn code. Best of both worlds. Thanks for the thread letting me know this was up for order.
