Closed Box Action Figures; this is gunna get worse before it gets worser

Lol surprising how cheap that feels for someone who give no shits about toys.

It is absolutely at odds with the business model. They lost the thread, you can tell no at that company knows what they are doing. I wonder how it happened?

Bro at least post what is gonna get worse, aint nobody got time to watch an 8 minute video to learn what your thread is about.
Toy manufacturer Hasbro now puts semi-high-end collector's figures in cardboard boxes instead of clear blisters. The pictures on those boxes are inadequate because they don't accurately represent the toy inside. It also allows thieves to swap the figures in the box for cheaper ones and then return the item to the store, duping other customers.

I don't collect toys but I'm in favor of cardboard boxes for the environmental aspect. I assume cardboard is better in that respect than plastic blisters. The issues seem minor to me. You can just buy your stuff online where figure swapping is extremely unlikely, and you will probably see pictures or videos of toys before you buy them anyway. The savings should probably be passed on to the customer with lower prices, but everything's getting more expensive these days so maybe they are indirectly by keeping prices them same.

I'm sorry, but plastic toys are bad for the environment no matter what packaging you put them in. This is just Hasbro being cheap.

I'm sure you're right, but regardless of their motives I see it as an improvement for reducing plastic waste. You could argue about the toys themselves, but that's not the subject of this thread.

Sorry to tell you but this was happening even with clear plastic blisters. Employees at Big W / K-Mart / Target etc don't know wtf is the difference between figures.

I am a toy collector but not an in box collector. I don't care about cardboard only boxes.

I’m a (mostly) NIB toy collector, and the bigger problem for me is how fucking awful retailers treat the packaging. With the cost of collectibles theses days, I have to be extra picky and I sure as shit don’t want a busted cardboard box or backing. I get that there is limited space but damn this shit is frustrating. I’d pay a few dollars more to have some items come already in blister protectors.
