Guys, I'm kinda on the fence about SMTIV. Never played a mainline SMT game before. I really like what I've played of Persona so can anyone tell me if I'd like this or not?

I have to admit dat packaging and the $30 credit is making it tempting. Might have to go preorder on Amazon.

If the main thing you liked from persona was its school setting and social links, SMT IV will be completely different.

If you enjoyed the combat mechanics, some of the themes of the story, the demons (personas), visual style, etc. you most definitely will love the shit out of IV.

Do you like good RPGs?

>Yes
>No

Pick one.

But basically if you want a game with some good gameplay and music and an interesting story and characters, get it.

The real icing for me (and a lot of other Canucks) is this:

Future Shop has become pretty awesome in the last couple years

Yeah, I'm also expecting this next week... Hopefully it'll be the LE as it's not mentionned.

This isn't entirely clear from what I can see, but what about family members? My son and I have both already registered FE - mine under the main account and him under his Family Member account - and are both getting SMT IV. Does anyone know if this will result in two $30 credits?

Most likely you will both qualify since each account in a family has its own registration and to-do lists. To be safe, you can always send Nintendo an email of course.

And from what I've played, SMT is much more dark and deep. Persona is more of a high school drama.

This kind of makes up for all of the crappy Fire Emblem dlc I bought. I know I complained about AA5 being digital, but if Nintendo is giving me credit that I can't use anywhere else for games I already bought and will buy, then I guess I can't complain. Not like there's anything else worth getting on the e-shop right now. Still will buy a physical copy though if it ever happens.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Wow, talk about a good deal. I don't see how you could pass up on this, especially if you're an RPG fan.

Called, got a rep within 7 minutes. She took a total of 10 minutes to get a hold of my records, and registered my downloaded copy of FE.

Sweet.

I bought a digital copy of FE:A before I linked my 3ds to my club nintendo account? Is there any way to retroactively register digital purchases? (If Nintendo only had a proper account system this wouldnt even be an issue)

Yea there is, give the consumer hotline a call and say that you had the game prior to linking your account. They will do it on their end for you.

I just got off the line with them, they register FE:A for me. THANKS NINTENDO!!

To be honest, I'm a SMT noob too. If I hated Persona 3 (didn't play Persona 4), will I hate SMT4?

What is it that you hated about P3? Was it the school setting? The repetitive nature of the storyline progression? The Tartarus randomly generated dungeons?

If those are the reasons, SMTIV is way different than that.

My man. Gonna use that $30 either towards M&L or the DLC for Fire Emblem and SMTIV.

Yeah probably using this on Dream Team. Or just use it on digital games since I buy most of my games physical. I guess I'll see.

Does anyone know, if Amazon is getting SMTIV back in stock? I just went to pre-order, and it is only available through third parties. If I'm going to preorder it, I might as well get Amazon's costume DLC with it.

Picking this up SMT4 regardless, but figured this would be a good chance to ask:

I love Persona because of story and characters, I couldn't finish Nocturne because it didn't have either. Is 4 going to be more of that?

SMTIV seems to be way more focused on a story and its cast of characters than Nocturne.

Not sure. I don't know that much about SMTIV, but I did play SMTIII: Nocturne. Compared to P3, Nocturne's exposition is a lot less heavy-handed, and its dungeons are miles better. It's also one of the few games to ever legit creep me out due to its imagery and overall atmosphere.

I just preordered from Amazon, but I had to go look for them under the list of sellers.

Is this game really 50 bucks? Even the digital eshop copy? I mean I guess it's 20 bucks now w/ fire emblem, but that's still a lot for a 3DS game.

Does anyone have that gif of Iwata's head put on some guy at a concert holding a beer up on stage in front of a crowd. And he like points in the sky.

I'm dying for that gif, but I can't find it.

Such bullshit that mexican consumers can't even get the online rewards :(

This sounds awesome.
You can get this. It's just a code, codes are avaliable for us latin american cunsumers, just create a nintendo club accoubt with an us address and register your games and redeem the code in the us eshop, iu just have to change your country to united states in your 3DS for this, you can change it to the mexican store when you're done biying your stuff.

It does come with some extras like a 176-page guide/art book and CD if that helps any.

Thank you Nintendo. They have been doing great deals lately. I already have Fire Emblem, so I just need SMT4 for the $30 eshop credit. The 3ds just has so many good games already and a lot of games coming up this year.

Mpl90

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
But seriously, the game is 49.99$ on eShop too? It's...stupid. Especially since Project X Zone is cheaper (34.99 v.s. 39.99) when bought digitally, and that's another title with a first print run with many items.

"Once you've completed your surveys, log back into your Club Nintendo account and click on the $30 eShop Credit item in your To-Do list. It may take up to one hour for the Club Nintendo website to be updated with your To-Do list item. Click 'redeem' on the $30 eShop Credit item page and confirm your order to receive an activation code with a value of $30 in Nintendo eShop credit.

Activation codes must be retrieved at the Club Nintendo site by September 30th, 2013"

I smell chaos....

Will it be on eshop? If so, is it cheaper since it doesn't come w/ that stuff? I've never played ANY SMT game EVER, and the 30 dollar thing intrigues me, but I don't want an art book or CD since I don't really care about the franchise (yet).

I forgot to do the Fire Emblem registration survey, dangit. :/

Same :(. I did every other survey, but somehow forgot to do that registration survey. And it's the only survey I've ever let expire ugh lol.

Oh well, still an amazing deal for anyone who qualifies.

No cart. Worth it for me. I hate carts for portable consoles.

Btw, totally in on this deal. I hate you Nintendo... you crafty bastards.

Now, what will I spend my 30 towards? Animal Crossing? Mario and Luigi? New Zelda?

So, I linked my 3DS to my CN, but it doesn't acknowledge that I have FE digitally. I'm assuming I need to contact customer support to resolve this right?

I think you just have to wait. My 3DS came with a digital copy of Mario Kart 7, I linked CN to my 3DS, but the survey didn't appear until about a day later.

Was gonna use the 30 to get ds on the shop since its on sale. Only got $6.43 in my wallet.
Maybe we can get some more good sales on eshop

I emailed New-Egg about the game and they haven't responded. Will the copy of the game from NewEgg include the artbook and soundtrack and everything?

I almost got screwed by newegg with Project X Zone and want to know if I need to just go order the game somewhere else.

Thanks!
