Club Nintendo (NA): Register FEA + SMT4 by 8/31, get $30 eShop credit

I was briefly freaking out because I couldn't find Awakening on my registered products list.

Then I realized I never registered it.

That would do it.

I'm torn between the eShop and special edition. Would selling the game on release be justifiable to go get the eShop release while keeping the bonuses? I'm trying to stay all-digital. How much would I lose? $5?

have fun trying to sell the game to someone without the goodies at $45 to get money to buy the digital at $50 on eshop.(and no GS wont give ya that much, they might give ya around $25 for it if you're planning that route)

This makes up for the crazy eShop price. You basically get Dream Team or Pokemon for almost free.

Also this was my first time logging into Club Nintendo in like a year. I missed out on about 100 coins from not doing surveys. OH WELL.

shit good point, i wasn't so sure about this because i hate digital cash but i forgot all about dream team. i don't care about digital for that so it gives me a good use for that $30. wasn't that excited about SMT, but if nintendo is trying to make me get it then i guess i'm in.

So apparently Downsview

Haha, those guys are the best.. Be careful about calling, because whoever looks it up will probably notice the date discrepancy.

SMTIV went from #31 to #6 in Amazon's Best Sellers in Video Games since the CN promotion was announced.

Also ranked #10 in the Movers & Shakers category with a 416% raise.

Hell yeah, think I got the last available new copy of FE:A at my GameStop for only $3.33 after in-store credit. This & PxZ will help make the wait for SMT4 easier.

Plus it was funny telling the cashier that I knew worked there a lot about the promo & had such a surprised face, especially since he was looking forward to SMT4.

Do we know how much the eshop version will be? Since it won't have all the goodies, I assume it will be $40? Pretty lame to charge the same price as the CE and not give you the stuff you get with the CE. So yeah, you should be able to turn around and sell the hard copy for $35, which means you'd only be paying $5 more to get the eshop version.

Seems now when you register FE, it asks if you knew about the promo, what degree did it make on your decision, and if you got it earlier than expected because of it. Wonder if those questions will be included when registering SMT4. In any case, I look forward to seeing if this causes a nice surge in sales for both games. Maybe it'll lead Nintendo to do this with other games.

Fucking awesome. The game was also a while on #1 (for all platforms) when the LE was announced.

Really hoping this game pulls off a Fire Emblem Awakening here in the west.

In the eShop's promo page the game is listed at $49.99.

This should really confirm that the msrp is $50 and there are no plans to lower the price after the first print goods run out. Should definitely pick this up sonner rather than later.

Hello Snowden's Secret,

Thanks for writing. I want you to know on behalf of all of us here at Nintendo of America how much we value your participation in Club Nintendo. I was sorry to hear that you weren’t able to complete your Product Registration Surveys before they expired.

I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but once Surveys officially expire, we're unable to reinstate them. However, I appreciate your taking the time to share your comments with us. I will make sure that your feedback is documented and forwarded to those responsible for Club Nintendo.

I also would like to point out that Product Registration Surveys generated by a PIN code expire 7 days after the product is registered. If the product must be linked to generate the survey (such as games downloaded from the Nintendo eShop), the survey will expire after 30 days. So you are correct in the sense that PIN codes do not expire and can be entered at your convenience, however, there is a longer window of time in which to complete the Product Registration Survey if the game is a digital download.

Most importantly, I can confirm that you will qualify for the Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem Awakening Promotion as long as both games are registered to your Club Nintendo account before August 31, 2013. Not having completed the Product Registration Survey will not prevent you from being eligible for the $30 Nintendo eShop credit.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this promotion.

Sincerely,

Jack Walkley
Nintendo of America Inc.

Well that's dumb, but at least I still qualify :(

That's good to know, then no one will be disqualified simply from having forgotten to fill out a survey. Everyone should be safe basically, unless they didn't register their physical copy of Fire Emblem and threw out/lost the code.

Weird. How come you weren't able to complete the survey? The survey comes up after you put the pin number.

Apparently, when you purchase a game digitally, that starts a 30 day timer on your surveys, and they expire at the end of those 30 days. I've been an active member of Club Nintendo since Day 1 but didn't know that.

Compare this to a retail PIN code, which never expires (well, if you input the code but didn't complete the survey, it would expire seven days later).

So even though Animal Crossing just came out, I lost the survey + 40 points.

Ah, yeah. I thought your copy was retail. That's why I'm wondering. If only Nintendo will send an email notifications when the survey is up.

Does stuff ever really go on sale on the eshop? I'd like to finally check out Mario 3D Land but it's still $40 to download. If it stays there, I may just wait and the credit towards Pokemon X/Y.

Stuff goes on sale all the time. But not really the big retail titles (at least on 3DS). Generally the 3rd party seems to do sales more then 1st party.

I haven't seen Mario Kart 7 or 3D Land on sale in a while. I'm current waiting for that for me to rebuy digitally. Though I do believe both were on sale a year ago or so. maybe,

Sorry for the random question, but I can't find an official Club Nintendo thread. I just bought a 3DS for Animal Crossing and registered both. I then discovered that I could register a bunch of my Wii games too. But I don't have the original box for my Wii anymore. Is there any way to register it and get points through a serial code or something?

edit: nevermind, found the official thread. The search results buried it for some reason.

It depends on when you bought your Wii. Launch model Wiis aren't actually worth any coins at all, though you can still register them via serial number for warranty purposes.

SMTIV will be better than any scrub game you're playing or will play for the rest of the year.

But if you bring up money problems, I'll let ya go.

Hahaha. I'm 17 and bought AC not long ago. I'll probably play it eventually though! Is that a good excuse? :p

hrm, this is weird. I bought a 3DS, bought a digital copy of FEA and then linked the system to my Club Nintendo account but my history looks like this

My digital FEA is nowhere to be seen :\

I had the same problem. Bought FEA digitally before I linked my eShop account to my Club Nintendo account and FEA didn't appear on my history list.

Just get in touch with Nintendo Costumer Support and they will register the game for you. Don't forget to send then the transaction number of your FEA purchase. You can check it on your 3DS on the eShop.

They resolved this for me in less than a day. Looking forward to my $30 voucher.

No idea what I'll use this $30 credit towards. Probably get the Oracle of Ages/Seasons games and keep a balance for future releases. I guess.

I'm using mine towards Pokemon Y, so I can buy it on eShop around midnight of launch day instead of waiting for an Amazon package a couple of days after.

Still trying to figure out what I wanna do with my $30. I'm thinking Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon: A New Beginning or Luigi's Mansion 2. Kinda leaning more towards one of the first 2 since they will most likely last me longer but I've never played an Animal Crossing or the first Luigi's Mansion game and I haven't played Harvest Moon since HM3 on gameboy color.....Or I might wait the long months until Pokemon.

I'm thinking of blowing the $30 credit on either Pikmin 3 or M&L4. Still, Ace Attorney being an eShop exclusive IS a good point, especially without Sven to possibly push for a physical release.

This is like that Futurama episode where everyone got 300 bucks.

I think I'll just purchase several eShop games down the line with the $30. Picross-e2 will probably be the first one.

Wait I thought it was 3DS only? If I can use it for my Wii U then I will be even more indecisive.

These credit codes go either way far as I know, at the least I was able to redeem a $5 one on 3DS and the ones you buy in stores work on either. Though if it's different here then it's either M&L4 or AA5 easily.

Was saving the $30 for AA5 and some VC titles (like Shantae coming this Thursday), but now that the StreetPass DLC games are out now, think I'll get that as well.

& yes, the $30 credit code can be used on either the 3DS or Wii U. Same for the code you can get from the Deluxe Digital Promotion. I actually used the first $5 I got from it towards both Oracle games on the 3DS VC.

Excellent deal for someone who already bought Awakening and has SMT IV preordered. The question is whether to spend the credit on Dream Team or towards a bunch of Virtual Console titles.
