Ours is not to reason why. What ELSE would they be using the shinyness and tan for?
They do look dumb as fuck though with all that fake tan.

Don't think the police fear black men because they are black men. They fear our super powers. I'm a top tier telekinetic wizard and trusting their feelings on fearing me is 100% correct."Participants also believed that the black men were more capable of causing harm in a hypothetical altercation and, troublingly, that police would be more justified in using force to subdue them, even if the men were unarmed," Wilson said.
Yeah, but part of that is because they have bright stage lights on them.Dumb question but do muscles appear larger on darker skin? I always assumed that's why white people used so much fake tan before bodybuilding competitions
His hand is as big as the dude's face. That's awesome.
Not really. I rather be seen as a human than the Incredible HulkIt's one of those things where you wish it were true.
It's better to be bigger.
Um
Are you sure you want to admit that your mind immediately went to the stereotype of "black men have big dicks"? Isn't that the same kind of inherent racial assumption as the study discussed in the OP found?
Both are symptomatic of the insidious nature of systemic racism. You probably meant to make a joke, but... it's not really funny. :
Dark hado auradehumanizing presence

I'm 6'1 210 pounds so yeah I've always felt this. It's always the do you play football man or you in the military bro questions that let you know they think you're huge. I get that nervous white woman smile (black guys know what I'm talking about) when I'm walking past one on the sidewalk or something. Not trying to be insensitive but in my experience only white chicks do it for some reason. I'm always constantly trying to make myself look less threatening when in public.
Exactly, all it did was to distract from the discussion and it's achieved that.Um

No, this is a serious topic that needs to be discussed and not joked around about. These are people's lives.lol cmon dawg

Everyone likes a respectable beardLOL, what...

Strangely erotic.
I wonder how many racists are looking at this gif right now and thinking the black guy is bigger than the white guy...
Look at them towering over that man.
That's basically it. White isn't a good midtone nor does it do specular/ highlights well. What ELSE would they be using the shinyness and tan for?
But unless black people walk around shirtless this doesn't really matter much for the perception of their muscles mass/strength.
Same. Although I'm skinnier than you--I weigh 145 pounds but same height. I live in NYC and I see the looks on the train or while walking and I'm trying to look as least threatening as possible. Don't be afraid of me, I come in peace.I'm 6'1 210 pounds so yeah I've always felt this. Being average while black?
Do you have your less threatening walk as well.
Same.Thought this was about penis size
The article in the OP is quick to point out that what is and what "we" see isn't the same sometimes. Well, the gif features Shaq who is definitely not an ordinary size sample and I also read the beard man was actually sitting, making the contrast even more stark. I felt the gif illustrated the unrealistic fears about black men in an amusing way, heh. Because if you are a racist looking at that gif, I gotta imagine it sent some shivers down some spines.I wonder how many racists are looking at this gif right now and thinking the black guy is bigger than the white guy...
It's not surprising at all to expect that black people would hold unconscious biases against other black people. We all consume the same media which fills us with the same ideas. The only part of this study that surprised me is that black men also believed that the black men were larger than white men. That's kinda weird isn't it? Wonder why that is. I know darker skin tone can make muscles more distinct due to showing lines better, but were these men shirtless or no?

I'm off that. I'm 6 foot and a buck 55, no tats, clean cut and we'll dressed, I'll be damned if I go out my way to make a motherfucker feel more comfortable around me.Same. I'd love a study on how effective local news is in also stoking these fears up even more. Whenever I visit the US watching the local news is like a parade of black mugshots and fear stories pumped into homes. It's like a bad parody. But that stuff has to be scarily effective.
No it's actually a lot, lot smaller. Did you even bother to read the OP? Fucking Hell. His hand is as big as the dude's face. That's awesome.
I still remember the "knock out game" news stories that plagued the NYC local stations. Basically any seemingly random attack that involved black male teenagers was blamed on the "knock out game" without every confirming if that was the case. It just created this hysteria that there was an epidemic of black boys out here just attacking people for sport and play.I'd love a study on how effective local news is in also stoking these fears up even more.
