Coca-Cola Is Bringing Surge Back - Selling Through Amazon

I remember this stuff, and its competitor Storm. There was a kid named Sergio in my math class one year, and someone said something disparaging to him one day, and I said "you're just jealous your name isn't a soda." Only one other kid in the class remembered Surge.

I don't really remember what this tasted like, but I do remember liking it. I think I liked Storm more, though.

My package arrived today.

Alright, it has a great green hue that matches the can. A full sugary mouthfeel that coats all your teeth. I get nice citrus notes up front followed by jolt of energy with heart palpitations. I give it a 8.8/10.

Will follow up with vodka and whiskey mixers. I missed this boat when I was 10.

Got mine in last night, finally. Great stuff!

Something in mind is asking whether this is the Surge I remember, or if it's just Mello-Yello in a Surge can. Guess I'd need a can of the Yello to taste-test them side by side.

UPS says mine has been delivered. I'm heading home in 20 to get it.

My excuse for having a whole pack of Surge? My girlfriend is diabetic (she is) and needs it for when her blood sugar gets low. :P

Mine was apparently handed over to USPS to deliver and was out on the truck as of earlier today. Can't wait! Probably will have to wait until tomorrow though as I'm sure this will get dropped off at our apartment complex office.

Mine showed up in what looked like war-torn conditions.

Looked like this can, and maybe another one or two, had exploded.

But in the end (after a bunch of clean-up) I have Surge!

You should let Amazon know about that. Thats bullshit and theyll prob credit you something because of it.

Regardless, Surge on.

Funny thing is, after drinking a few of these now, Surge tastes far less syrupy than Mountain Dew. I'm used to Diet Mountain Dew and it's more like that, but with better flavor.

I wish it had come in-stock sooner. I arrive back in the country in time for it to sell out on the first day and they restock with a small enough timeframe that I would not be able to get it by Wednesday when I fly back out (unless I overnight it or one-day-ship, and even though I love Surge, fuck overnighting a couple cans of pop). Maybe in December if I make it back home for Xmas.

Fuck man. Why bother signing up for Amazon alerts if they're never actually going to send you a damn alert >:[

I agree. I managed to snag some, but only because I have a day off and refreshed the hell out of the Twitter, Facebook, and Amazon pages. That stuff was gone in 10-15 minutes. Not one alert.

BTW, wasn't the original color like the Urge on the first page of the thread?

WTF I want to try surge again so bad but I'm not paying a hundred bucks for it. Why can't Coca-Cola release this in stores? I thought they have a responsibility to shareholders to maximize profits and you do that by giving people want they want to SPEND MONEY ON!

They want to build up hype before they do that. They do this for a few week, people start wanting it because it's hard to get. Then you release it out to the wild and reap the rewards.

I found another site where you can sign up for price change alerts and I didn't get shit from them. Saw the thread but it was too late and then just now learn Surge has a Twitter account :| When they first put them up, they did seem to put more up every couple of days so hopefully we won't have to wait so long this time.

They need to start sending it out to retail stores soon. There is a patience limit that customers have. The hype is about dead for me, and while it would be nice to get some, I am not going to be spending $14 for a case. I can imagine that the hype has peaked, and they would do better mass producing it sooner than later.

I agree, but then again you have people setting up Amazon Alerts and using other websites to track down Soda.

Pepsi is doing a similar thing for Pepsi True (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NSNWJIW/?tag=neogaf0e-20). They can use it to understand which regions are most likely to buy before doing a full rollout.
