Come to think of it, would be much better to have the first GRAW's thermal vision as a perk.
Yeah, that'd definitely stop campers. Oh, wait. :p

Stopping power + Deep Impact + Thermal = .....

GRAW 1's thermal did not let you see through walls. It just made it easier to see pansies lying in the tall grass far away or lying around the corner etc..

Yeah, gimping the thermal vision in GRAW 2 ruined multiplayer for me big time.

We need to form a specialized Camper Raping Clan. (CRC)

Using the dirtiest tactics possible. Then maybe the game might be fun again.

Of course, that will depend on the layout of the other maps. I have this funny feeling we'll be making custom map rotations with 100% urban maps.

Just put in 90 minutes, lvl 9 at the moment.

I'm loving it so far. Camping hasn't been an issue for me, thus far. Maybe it's because europeans just got the beta and don't know the campspots.

Just wondering if anyone else is waiting on a chance to obtain a beta key from the gamespot "raffle"? ..20,000 keys a day. Giveaway starts at 9.00 am PT (12.00 pm if you're EST).

I hope I get my hands on one :\

EDIT: I'm in :D

Downloading now

gotta ask a stupid question thats probably been asked a lot allready, but if someone i know got in the beta (canadian one that finaly opened i guess), is there a way ( or a few ways ? ) i can use his account to DL the beta on my 360 and play with him on my account? i read about something like that using account recovery, but im wondering if we can do it an easier way with a memory card or something.

It's a glitch thats been fixed I'm afraid, it costs 99,999 MP points now! sorry

Gamestop is giving out codes to those who pre-ordered? I ordered the CE and did not receive any code. I'm already in the beta but at least I could give the code to a friend.

Big WTF all around on this deal...is it happening or not? Are the codes given away at the store, by email...

Really good looking game, love the weapons / class systems, but I'm not keen on things like calling in helicopters / airstrikes. Oh, and I'm terrible at it, as I've never been good at "one shot kill" games online. Certainly has me interested in the game again now though, will definitely be picking it up. (and there I was thinking I was bored of WW2/modern combat games)

isn't posting screen shots violating the NDA or some crazy crap that got someone else banned?

Uh, I sure hope not. There was no mention of an NDA when I signed up on Gamespot or loaded the beta?

Got in via Gamespot today. Played it for about 2 hours and leveled up to 5 or so. Man, going from Metroid Prime 3 controls to this was a jarring change.

Not very impressed with the visuals, honestly. :/

Do you have an HDTV?

I'd say going from lame Metroid Prime combat to awesome COD combat was pretty jarring as well.

Camping?
Think I've played 100 games and camping hasn't been an issue.
I don't think I camp but I certainly don't rush things.
Most games on Crash or Overgrown I probably average a 9/5 k/d ratio.
I see most peeps out there with 15/19. Sure you got more points than me but you also handed the other team 190 points or more. =S

Play Team Tactical with deathmatch on Crash or Overgrown and I guarantee you campers on the 3 story building and in the house with the attic. When it is only 3 on 3 on those maps, those spots get taken over quickly and it is hard to take them away from the campers since there are only two entrances in either spot. Sure you may get one with a grenade every once in a while but the spawn system will keep them coming back in the same place.

I love running around Vacant with the Uzi though. Nothing like running around a corner and knifing a guy in the face before he can even think, then spray the rest of the team with the bullet hose.

:lol
Anyways what I usually do if I start a game on Crash at the "top of the hill" is I sprint to the right, right before the alley way I take a left and plop my ass there with my sights set on the 3rd floor. Where I usually get my first kill.:D

Alternatively, if you spawn on the other side make your way for the 3 story and chuck a cooked grenade over the sheet metal fence towards the broken building. Say hello to a kill or two, then hop up on the dumpster and finish off the other few lemmings.

Yes, I've taken out an entire team in S&D with one grenade this way. SO good.

Happened to me last night. Felt like an idiot when watching the kill cam. Dude throws one grenade over the dumpster killing 2 of us.:lol
Another embarasing kill cam was when I got sniped through a teamates body. One sniper bullet took us both out. I thought so at first and the Kill cam confirmed it. Gave the guy props in the lobby.

Finally getting the hang of this and logging a positive K/D ratio in most of my games. However, I can't seem to find a single TDM game while FFA is available all the time.

Ah, who cares. Collector's Edition Day One Purchase.

the beta have turned into a complete and utter disappointment, there is so many campers that the game had generated fucking tents and mattresses. hell, theres an actual bed and a milk container on top of the three story building in the crash map. the game doesn't force people to kill like halo and instead, it forces players to just sit, wait, and shoot. :(

I've never managed more than 2 using this method and a cooked grenade. It works both ways though (tossing it from either side for either spawn).

The game is so much fun. I love it. Bloodwall. Add me if you have not already. I'd love to get in some games with more GAF people. Ran into a couple of you, but definitely not many.

Looks like Australian's who signed up here Have been SHAFTED, codes were meant to be sent out on the 11th and it's now the 12th over here and no one has received a token yet.

So over it, my Hype for this game is officially ruined. I think i will pass on the beta now even if i end up with a token code.

You make the floors nice and squeaky clean, I see, camper.

Vacant is where the most grenade kills are. ;)

Damn, I must be signed up on like 5 lists at least to get a key and so far no go.

I'm dying here...hopefully a trip down to gamestop tonight will garner a key.

My buddy has it and we play on lunch break but it's only like 30 minutes of playtime a day, and it's TORTURE LOL.

Can someone fill me in on this gamestop token give away? I would really like to play this beta but i was working when they gave away the original tokens.

Or if someone has an extra, I would much appreciate you if you parted with it. :D

even in tatical & objective some good bomb sniffing and some careful pace go a long way against campers. I mean you know where they are. It's never a surprise where they sit. They are only doing their job.

Maybe I'm just less sensitive to campers. My history of heavy SOCOM, Counter-STrike, and Battlefield gamplay has me pretty apathetic to most instances of camping.

Collectors Edition to include a pillow and foam pad for the campers confirmed. It's getting out of hand, and the only way I can imagine people are not seeing rampant abuse of prone/grenade launchers/spray n' pray on Crash and Vacant is they are camping themselves :)

I'm still a little confused with the camping complaints. People are talking about the FFA or TDM games, right? Are people staying in one spot really able to maintain a good kill/death ratio?

One of the guys here is a fantastic sniper. He'll take a few shots, and then move to a new position, anticipate where you might be trying to sneak in to flank him, etc. The key to taking him out has always been communication. There's no silenced sniper rifle, so he's going to show up on radar and in your ears.

I haven't had a game yet where someone was able to just fish-in-a-barrel the other team, but is that what's happening for some of you? Not just "hey, that dude killed me!" (because, well, hell, welcome to the game), but an actual overwhelming unfair situation?

(...oh man. Actually, a 3-on-3 snipers-only game on Overgrown would be tense as hell. Yum.)

Anyhow, yeah. Just wondering about FFA/TDM. On the other hand, if people are complaining about snipers on the Team Objective games, well...

Them having good kill/death ratios, or even being in contention isn't the point. The shitty playstyle which spoils the game for everyone, is.

I had a FFA on Overgrown where the guy did nothing but camp the 2nd floor of the partly destroyed building near the wooden barn bridge. Everytime he killed someone he'd go "this is my house" over and over just to piss people off. Using a C4/shotgun combo he never came out of that spot unless he was killed. In which case, he'd run right back up there afterwards. If no one came up for a while, he'd just use the mounted gun in the window and either kill people or entice someone to go up there to get him.

...and at the end of the game he was dead last. At least 10-15 kills below the person in 2nd to last place.

Now, you tell me why would anyone do that shit?

That's my tactic with the SR as well, but I've maybe used my sniper setup 10 times total. :lol

It's FFA/TDM that're the problem. In any case, most campers aren't even snipers. People camp with the aforementioned C4/shotgun combo.. or they lay prone with a doorway in sight and camp with a heavy machinegun/assault rifle.. or they just camp for the hell of it.

Camping in:
-S&D: is to be expected.
-Domination: is faily stupid, but understadable.
-TDM: is majorly annoying. Especially in something like Overgrown where a team will try to run up a lead with snipers at the start. Usually because the opponent is unprepared for 2-3+ snipers on the other team. Then just run up in the attic and stay there the rest of the match. Ugh.
-FFA: are you serious? Really?

On a side note, Team matches should never start unless the teams are even. We played a streak of 4-5 games where we were always 2+ men down. Get someone to fix it! :p
