I haven't been on CoD4 in a bit, just logged on to see "Pick-up Team Deathmatch" and "Pick-up Team Objective" (no parties allowed). Good too see this considering I usually play alone. How long has this been online?

That's when you clean house and go 19 - 4. When they invariably ask you to join their clan at the end of the round laugh at them and promptly leave.
 
Last Stand catches me off guard nearly 90% of the time, I'm in the habit now where I unload almost an entire clip into whoever is at the other end of my Silenced MP5 or scoped M4 :/

Seriously, Last Stand > Me

A headshot cancels LastStand. That is, if Dude has the LastStand perk, and you kill him with a headshot, he will die immediately. So you're good for that.

If anything, if someone is already in LastStand, I'll take the extra time to line up a headshot, so I'm almost glad when they use it. ;)

The obituary print ("Dude [icon] Victim") for a headshot is the scope-and-crosshairs, so it's easy to verify that you've made a headshot, or not.
 
Will there be a server/room browser in the final lobby design of the retail package? I'm not really feeling the current "find a game for you" setup.

Yeah, I just spray bullets if their in Last Stand mode, I'm usually in a situation where it's not time to screw around.

How many Headshots for the 4th expert challenge? That would be for the red tiger camo I believe.

And what is considered a win for FFA games (for the stats page). Only first?
 
Good playing with you guys tonight. I left because I was getting frustrated. The entire other team was a bunch of campers. It's one thing if it's a large scale shootout between two teams in two buildings...But people who just stand in random corners piss me off. Like that DarkEyes guy who not only camped but also seemed to never die.
 
Man I had a guy shoot me in the back with a pistol six times, my first warning was my immediate death. The killcam letting you see how badly the lag is kiling you sure drives ya nuts. So infuriating when you watch the killcam and it goes down not at all like it did on your screen. At least you know when it's the lag that's killing you as opposed to the other players being much better than you.

Why is client side hit detection such a bad thing?

Hey, was wondering if anyone is up for some 2-3 man Tactical. Well thats if I can get my connection going, I've spent all day troubleshooting and nothing seems to work. Ah, my gamertag is: AssemblyR, add me if you like
 
I tried it for the first time today and ranked up to Gunnery Sergeant in just over 2 hours of play. The M4 with the Red Dot destroys all. :D

Man, this game is great.

And I can't stress it enough how much I love the Last Stand perk. After being taken down by a sniper half way across the map in Overgrown I ended up having the last laugh when I whipped out my M9 and and blasted a few shots into his skull before dying.

That moment will go down in history as being probably the most rewarding kill I'll ever have playing online.
 
I wasn't going to bother with the beta and just jump in when the game came out, but I happened to notice a key in my mailbox tonight (didn't even sign up for it) so decided to check it out.

Pure gun sex! Love it. Reminds me a lot of Castle Wolfenstein multiplayer on the Xbox. Fast, tight games of shootin' bitches with great multi-leveled maps. Much love.

seriously, imho, COD4 puts a lot of console shooters to shame, and a lot of devs need to take heed of the prowess that is Infinity Ward. Apart from the occasional latency issues, this is the sickest shooter OUT. And when you send the birds in..............oh boy, B.O.B!

After I unlocked the M4 and quickly detoured the AK (horrible gun, basically) I'm back at the M16. A lot more dmg and people should drop in 3 shots anyway. Only time when it's not so good is when you're in point blank range, but you still can get some kills if your reaction is good.

At first I though of it as nothing more than the ordinary MP-FPS. But it grew like a motherfucker. I'm really looking forward to the game now, but I'd like to see an option where you can change the color on your team mates on the map, so that if I join together with a friend from he'll be shown as a blue dot or something at the radar.
 
if anyone has an extra gamespot key can you please pm it to me? i want to play but cant get a key on my own due to work hours.

This is a good idea for those times one or two of you join a room and want to stick together. The amount of times I've had to pretty much navigate a friend to my position I can't even count.

Pretty much, yeah. I've played with one friend in games of 6v6 mainly, and it's such a hassle knowing where your pal is.
 
Normally I'm not much of a war based FPS fan, I play them for a bit then usually get bored but with COD4 it's all the cool little things that seem to keep me coming back, the perks, the gun upgrades, the fucking cool challenges that unlock more cool shit. Plus the game play is fast and (when not lagging... fucking air strikes seem to do this to me all the time) really tight, and just fells right on.
I went from I'll probably rent it, to day 1 purchase after playing the beta now. :D

I enjoyed one sweet knife kill in Last Stand. Right in the groin!

Last Stand is only useful in certain maps where a lot of people could pass by and you can redeem yourself. It is also only useful if you die enough times to make it worthwhile.
 
I wonder...

Can you stick C4 to an enemy and blow them up? Or better yet, stick it to a friend or yourself and suicide bomb. I fucking LOVED C4'ing my Jeeps in BF2 and driving head first into a tank or group of people.

Man, this beta has me loosing sleep, it's so damn fun.
 
Lol I'm finely getting good at this damn beta, last game 35-3, and the last 6 games I've been first. Either all the good player quit or aren't playing. only took 3 weeks:D

or it could that you are leveling up and getting more kills because the playingfield is not even.

Seriously such a great game if it just had more balance in its rewards.
