Yeah, I got my 17 on Vacant running a complete circle around the main building. If you watch your map constantly you will see where your comrades are and pretty much know where the enemies are going to be. Once I knew that it was time to spray them with the uzi.

My current k/d ratio is 1.44, but I sucked balls at the beginning of the beta. I had a .76 ratio for a while until I really got a hang of things. I have currently put over 22 hours into the beta and IW already has my money for the retail release.

Mhhmm

That little area with the concrete walls and little "sniper spot" is a prime spot for some shotgun, get the airstrike, take the sniper rifle off the fools you just demolished, get the chopper and then just run around laughing and sniping - maybe switch back to a machine gun if you get bored.

Man, I really need to see that to believe it. I have a hard time believing that no one hits you, especially on vacant where there's usually people in every damn corner. I mean, if there's you and eleven other players it's kind of hard not getting shot down from behind somewhat regularly, whether you're moving or not.

It was on team deathmatch, not free for all. The highest kill streak I got on free for all was 11 which was on Crash. That match was pretty much camping but was unintentional. I got to the top floor of the building by the garage, killed one guy on his way up and another who was already up there. Once I was up there and looked over the balcony, guys kept coming for me and I thought "why move?" since these idiots keep rushing for my posistion. It was probably the same two guys who wanted to camp there but could not reclaim the spot from me.:lol

Edit: Don't forget that the air strikes and helicopter will increase your streak real quick. Once you hit 5 kills, the airstrike will give you the extra 2 for the helicopter, and the helicopter rapes people through windows on Vacant.

I have to admit, i dont really have interest in those perks. :lol

After going with Stopping power and refelxes i cant see me changing back.

Id like a new perk instead of RPG... I used to keep it to take down choppers but no i dont bother. Somebody in a FFA always downs the choppers.

If it takes the place of stopping power, I won't take it. I can only think of two instances where my reload time killed me. If I played one of the heavy gunner guys though, I would use it since those weapons deal massive damage anyways.

To be honest if you have a decent aim and grouping stopping power isn't really relevant, deep impact us much more useful.
 
Sleight of Hand is pretty frickin' awesome. I won't roll an LMG without it, and sometimes when I'm feeling a little crazy I'll swap out my Extreme Conditioning on the MP5 for it.

I bet a lot of you have taken to reloading after a kill - even if unnecessary. Sleight of Hand reduces all those "OH CRAP I RELOADED ON INSTINCT AND NOW HAVE LEAD FLYING AT MY HEAD FROM A NEW ENEMY" moments.
 
Something that bothers me that I hope gets addressed in the final game is the fact that the grenade launcher seems to be much more deadly than the RPG... both in splash damage and splash range.

I understand that the RPG is toned down for game balance, but I think it shold be at least as effective as the noob tube, if not considerably more. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong... maybe I'm just not using it right.

Um btw. what is this thing when you shoot someone with the grenade launcher straight in the face? There's no explosion just a little "pop" and the sign which indicates with what you killed your oppenent looks like a flash.

It doesn't arm until it flies a certain distance (10m?), so if you hit someone before then you're basically putting a hole through them, but it doesn't actually explode.

Downloading Game Settings is a bug

just exit to the dashboard and boot the game up again.
 
Probably already known, but if you're in private chat with another player, not only can you continue to talk after croaking in S&D, you can bring up the map while dead, and it still shows player positions etc

Combined with the third person spectator cam and full audio, it makes it *very* easy to provide information for your buddy

They should mute that, or at the very least, remove the active map info while dead in s&d

Also, Last Stand 'suicide' and reload being on the same button is kind of annoying :P

Yeah, I ran into this bug a couple of more times this evening. Rebooted the game, still there. Rebooted, still there. Rebooted, gone. Weird.

Had other problems as well, sometimes I couldn't find any available games, and one time the game froze after loading the map. Never happened before. :(

Gotta agree with you there. Maybe it's just because I haven't played the game enough, but I rarely use any of the grenades or the RPGs from the 1st perk option. I usually roll with the RPG anyway just to use it for fun sometimes, it works well on crash when guys are sniping or MGing from windows/rooftops.

Yes, I agree with this post. Private chat should not be available during certain game types.

Y or B should be the suicide buttons so that you don't have to hold X and wait for the small delay.
I would have also liked to see and hear the gun go off in the suicide animation. |:P

I used to use RPG as well but taking down copters is a pain with no reward. The 3x special grenade I've found with flash or stun does wonders

Not a Single Multiplayer Achievement

I'm not as much of an achievement whore as some, but I do like to get them in games I enjoy, and I was really looking forward to completing all the challenges to get a super hard achievement or reaching Rank 55 or whatever, this is soooooo annoying.
 
Well, in that way the challenges are the multi-player achievements. And some of the challenges actually reward you with stuff of actual value (weapons, attachments, etc.) rather than e-penis measuring sticks. Although I must say when I got the Red Tiger camo and was one of the only people in some of the servers to be sporting it my e-penis did feel pretty e-rect.

The Blue Tiger is where the e-penis really grows friend!
 
But I got the Blue Tiger before the Red. At least I think I did. I'm pretty sure I did. Plus Blue Tiger makes me think blue balls whereas Red Tiger makes me think red raw.

I always move around too, I make sure to keep an eye on the radar and I mostly engage at medium to long distance with my M16. Over 6000 kills so far :D

Actually I like that the achievements are only in singleplayer, multiplayer achievements are often boring ones such as "Win x games" or "Get X kills with weapon X" and they usually have a huge effect on people's playstyles. I've noticed in Shadowrun that I was always playing for some achievement, playing as elf with a katana to get Elf Player and Katana kills and so on. Without achievements in multiplayer you can just take it easy, enjoy the game and play however you want.

Also, the knife is way too inconsistent. They need to take away the Halo 2 sowrd lunge. Half of the time you lunge forward and half of the time you just slash in the air. And when you do lunch, half of the time you lunge right past the guy and get knifed in the back. It's also annoying when you knife a little before you get to the guy, cause you're anticipating the knife lunge and you just slash in the air. Just have the slash in the air, take away the fucking lunge.

It's an insta-kill weapon. You shoot vaguely at the person, they're dead. And if somehow they're not, the reload time is so quick that it doesn't really matter

I love the knife. Just yesterday I killed about 10+ people (including their respawns) in one room with the knife. It was absolutely beautiful. If the game Ninja Gaiden 2 style blood I would have been in heaven for that one moment.
 
turns out CoD4 has no achievements at all for online play, which is rather odd to me considering the system is almost perfect to implement achievements for your rank, R6:Vegas style.
