COD 4 Beta Thread

Really hoping I get in on the beta soon. Eagerly anticipating it. I love the fact that developers like Infinity Ward and Bungie do this not only just for hype, but for feedback on the gameplay and balance of the game itself. Thumbs up to beta tests. GamerTag is RyoGCH. Here's hoping to getting in!

At least with Bungie their was a sure way of getting on the BETA.
 
Hey guys, we gave out such a small percentage of keys its almost hilarious. Please don't start freaking out.

This wasn't our big release. This was just a small push of keys to get some people on early. Sucks that it didn't go smoothly, but hey, there's a few hundred people playing right now and there will be a TON more later on.

My roomate gets a blank e-mail with the subject line of: "Welcome to the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Beta!" from CoD4beta@infinityward.com.

No mention of a token.

No D/L on Live to be found.

Nothing visible in the CharlieOscarDelta.com site.

What gives?
 
All I know is that once I finally do get into the Beta, and I hear an obvious non-American accent, it's On like Donkey Kong Bitches. I'm hunt'n you down until IW officially announces that the Beta is open internationally. Any bystanders are a casualty I'm willing to take. >; |

Are link and images enabled? I know some email accounts have them auto disabled.
 
so far I've logged 4 hours of gameplay on the beta and I can't see myself stopping anytime soon. this game is AWESOME

Nice. So can anyone comment on team play? Is it strategic or what?
 
Ah, okay; didn't realize the keys were really-truly useless outside of U.S. XBL accounts.

Still; read Dko5's post; we'll probably all be playing together soon enough, this wasn't "the big release", just a trickle. =)

If you play on team objective, definitely. I was playing "Domination" and "Search and Destroy" games where the whole team was communicating, forming strategies and such. great fun.

Yeah, I was surprised to see it. The guy claims it's from gametrailers and his topic about it has been sitting in the Beta forum on CharlieOscarDelta.com all day. I figure that IW would have cracked down on it by now if it was a no-no.
 
Seriously, this Beta is almost too little too late. Between Bioshock and Halo 3 out in a month, the final COD4 should be out.

But I didn't buy Bioshock, bring on the "Beta"! I need something to tide me over until Halo 3, and then I'll be ready for the final COD4!

Damn it's so awesome.

I'm getting better the more I play,practicing a lot in free for all is helping me.Last night I was getting owned in team play,I guess thats where all the pros hang out :lol :(

edit- IW has got my money day one,cant wait for Nov. 5th.

Yesterday was a loooooooong day. I was at the studio till 3 - 4 in the morning sending out Beta Invites to the very small lucky few who got into the early first wave of the beta.

Tokens are still going out randomly to the Charlieoscardelta.com members who sent in emails to the First Wave during the 24 hour period. However, keep in mind that the First Wave was just a bonus early chance to get into the beta. So all of those upset you missed the first wave, it was simply an EXTRA way to get in on top of the Charlie.com exclusive sign-up coming via the Countdown which will be posted today.

So be on the look out for a new SitRep coming along very shortly which will give you full details on the CharlieOscarDelta member exclusive Beta sign up, updates on International participation in the Beta, as well as heads up additional planned ways to get a token outside of CharlieOscarDelta.com.

In Conclusion:

Don't get all crazy over nothing, all we did yesterday was allow you a bonus and to top that off, EARLY chance to get your hands on some beta. If you got in, that's fantastic, congrats and enjoy, if you didn't then you still have hundreds of thousands of other ways to get in coming up very shortly.

PS. Don't hate on me if I'm not in here answering every question as I normally am, I'm hard at work getting more of you into the beta as we can. ;)

I got disconnected in my last match. My stats reported I was a level 5. wtf??????

Anyone know how many tokens are gonna be given out? The fact that it seems such a labour for the devs selecting people does not give me much hope that there will be more than 10,000.

I told him about it after i sent my email, and he got in too.

I just played fourzerotwo in a team deathmatch game on vacant, he caught me off guard one time and knifed me :-(

Okay this sucks.. I sent out an email last night before I went to bed and I woke up to see that the email failed to get sent for some reason. Then I am stuck driving all day today, so I have no idea whats going on with the BETA... then I get back into a hotel and I see people on my friends list are playing the GAME!

Please DKo5! I beg you!

I have been playing COD2 for weeks because I couldn't wait till COD4... just go check out my previous threads.

Barracks...

It shows Challenges,Clan Tag,Player Stats and Leaderboards.
