Seriously though. M4 is the best gun in the demo because it has no recoil. With no detection perk the shit is 10x worse.

pretty much. The M4 is ridiculously versatile and effective from both long range and short range. no recoil whatsoever

Can you answer some of my questions for the new create-a-banner mission on the charlieoscardelta site? I want to make sure each submission is within the guidelines (so I can get the points). :D The rules state:
* Size requirement - must be 468 pixels by 60 pixels
* Content requirement - must feature the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare logo. Must be designed solely using screenshots and images from the game, as can be found on our site or others.
* Originality requirement - if you upload multiple submissions, they must be significantly different from each other to qualify for points. Designs that are deemed too similar to each other by community staff will not be counted. Cheating by stealing another's work and passing it off as your own automatically disqualifies you from any points or prizes.

1) Does the banner have to include the whole "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" logo/text exactly? Can it just be "Call of Duty 4"? Can I create my own text? Can I modify color/shape/etc?

2) Can I use images from the charlieoscardelta site that are not in the game (like rank icon images)? Can I use my own drawn effects and text?

3) Does the image have to be a jpeg? Can it be a gif? Is there a size limit?

I was thinking about entering tons of submissions for the PS3 but that is too much work. I really wanted to get the trade in credit too!
 
Cool, thanks. The gif question is the most important, cause I've got some nice ideas if they're allowed.

BTW, anyone know how to extract gif animations from a wmv file (including crop and scale options)? Besides needing this for this COD mission, I can never watch a movie the same way since joining GAF... I'm always looking for scenes that would make good gifs. :lol
 
Man i suck at this game. So bad. Still its way fantastic. Its Giraffetastic. Love the knife but i kinda feel noobish using it for kills
 
Well the enjoyment factor of this game has gone downhill fast. I sign on into a game, get called a little fag. Enter a game where the team camps with snipers and shotguns inside a building at Crash. Idiot teammates get stuck trying to climb over the top of each other, massive grenades and RPGs from idiots trying to play the game like Halo...everyone dies. Give me the way it was a week ago with people who actually knew what they were doing.
 
yeah the LMGs are pretty boss with a reddot compared to the assault rifles. Also, i'm disappointed that there is such little weapon customization allowed. No silencer + scope?

I've run into some really annoying people today also. Must be a full moon or something in the water.

Yeah the game wasn't even like this Tuesday. I used to enjoy matches on Vacant. No more intense close quarters fights with mp5s and shotguns. Everyone is using sniper rifles and m4s now with the occasional fight. Vacant used to be all about those intense hallway fights now its about if you're lucky enough not to get sniped/shot across the damn building and from outside.

The ACOG scope is alot better on larger maps like Overgrown, for me anyways. I use the red dot on the other two maps though...the ACOGs main problem is the aim lag that the red dot doesn't seem to have.

In the beta the M4 Carbine is far superior because of it's versatility to engage from long range and short range. It's recoil is next to nothing. As for the scopes, I would say red dot is better because it doesn't block your peripheral vision while aiming and you can use it very effectively for long range targets. ACOG is crap in this game TBH.

Agreed, especially on a map like Overgrown, I can easily get 20 kills with the M16 with red dot.
 
I don't like to bitch about play styles but vacant is just horrible now. Just finished a game where we (S.A.S) couldnt live the spawn because pretty much everyone on the other team was either sniping or using aks with red dot scope. We managed to push inside for a little bit but then they all went LMG. Yeah, not a fun game. I miss SMG and Shotgun games ='(

All the rifles should have recoil. I think something similar to Rainbow 6: Vegas. Try running and gunning with an assault rife on full auto or even worse a LMG. Good luck sniping with that shit.

Get rid of auto lock on, it's cheesy.

Improve the splash damage on rockets and 203, just a tad bit more on it. There have been countless times where a shell would explode near and enemy an nothing other than a shellshock effect would occur. I mean the thing does have an effective kill radius of about 5 meters.

Let me run and reload, give me a penalty for doing so ala make the reload a bit longer, but still give me the option to do so.

Last Stand. I hate it. Especially that second of invulnerability that the person has when entering it. I shouldn't have to waste 30 rounds (if they have juggernaut) to knock him down, only to be killed because I have to reload.

Get rid of auto lock on, it's cheesy.

Deep impact needs to be toned down a bit. Okay a whole lot. The rounds should not continue on a straight path, there is no real deflection. There needs to be,

Finally, spawn invulnerability. Make it so. Too many a time I've spawned in an airstrike or in a middle of a gunfight, grenade blast, in front of an enemy, only to be cut down immediately.

I agree with everything except the deep impact bit. If it's gun specific, tone it down with the LMG. That's the only game I've found that has consistently chewed me up through walls (SEE: Any god damn game of vacant now).

Well that's the thing, I can see it going through sheet rock and the like, however, when my rounds are traveling on a straight path after passing through 2.5 steel containers in Vacant, there is something wrong. No not wrong, just flat out broken. The same applies when shooting through two layers of cinder blocks. There needs to be a greater deflection.

I will say this again, cone fire (if in fact that's what's being used) should be removed and replaced with recoil fire (again ala R6:V)

I don't know if I'd want it Vegas level but some recoil would be welcome ESPECIALLY on those LMGs. I'm pretty sure there was recoil in COD1 and 2. The MP44 had a decent amount of recoil and PPSH was crazy for anything other than bursts.

For me, I still prefer an M16 w/ suppressor for any medium-to-long work, especially on S&D matches. For general all-purpose, the AK47 is my current favorite.

The PPSH was actually very easy on the recoil. MP44 with iron sight was too, but it was better using single shots. Same goes for the BAR, which went totally nuts when popping more than 5 shots. The Brengun was in a league of his own.

That's incorrect; you can run and reload. You probably mean sprinting, which is essentially a full-tilt, spinning-your-legs-as-fast-as-you-can action. If you want to do something more complicated (reloading), then you'll need to slow down to attend to it (come out of the sprint), but you're still running.

Yeah, I hate it too. Been seeing people getting on the roof of the house across from the barn and sniping like crazy. I played against a whole clan who were on the roof pwning everyone. Figured out how to get on the roof, but it's difficult.

I now love C4.

There is no backwards movement from recoil, but there is recoil rise, where the barrel starts moving up. It's definitely toned down on LMG's from real life, but it's toned down in general.

Most players that have better accuracy are actually shooting in rapid short bursts to control recoil rise and the cone of fire.

No way, I don't want a more powerful noob cannon with the M203. Maybe improve splash damage on the RPG's since they are slow to fire.

It's actually pretty funny, I kind of like it, but I'll take Extreme Conditioning over Last Stand any day. I've had quite a few Last Stand on the floor shoot outs with someone where we downed each other simultaneously.
