CoD Elite doesnt really do anything special at all. All of the stats shown can be seen in game. The Compete challenges are basically just "who can grind out the game the most" and so are the clan leaderboards.
Its a nice extra to have, being able to see stats online, but I certainly wouldnt pay money for it considering other companies have provided this service for free elsewhere.

I already sent them some feedback asking where all the new stats were because the only ones I could find were the ones that I can already get in-game.

Anyone on PS3 down for some zombies tomorrow around 1pm pacific time?
I'm hoping that the group and clan features can influence matchmaking somehow. Sorta like making a clan on elite, going into matchmaking with your clan buddies and get automatically matched up against other clans (if you choose to that is) and then your wins and stats in clan matchmaking being reflected on clan leaderboards on Elite..Brian Fellows said:

So in Modern Warfare 2 I was pretty good. Not as good as you guys but I would get Pave Low and Chopper Gunner pretty much every time. In Black Ops I struggle to get 5 kills for Napalm. I haven't played BLOPS as much as MW2, so it could be just practice, but do you guys have any tips for me that might help? Perhaps that focus on what worked in MW2 that doesn't anymore? Because it's not working for me.
I usually run a FAMAS + Tube, 1911 pistol, claymore/motion sensor, with Ghost, Sleight of Hand, and Marathon/Hacker.

Haven't played in months, but I got an ELITE invitation, so I went ahead and checked it out.
I'm kinda underwhelmed. I honestly liked W@W's stat tracking site a lot better; it was cleaner and faster. It seems nice enough, but it's nothing spectacular, and it's leagues behind Bungie's stat tracker...

The grenade launchers are pretty terrible in Blops. Besides having it for the novelty factor, you should use something else. FAMAS has pretty good iron sights, so I have extended mags on mine. If you come up on 2 or 3 enemies you can just start spraying.Genesis Knight said:

If you're up against people that are constant radar checkers (like me), you can end up surprising them if you aren't showing up on their radar every time you shoot. It hampers your long range capability, but I've looped around behind the entire enemy team and quietly taken them all out without anyone realizing it.
Hardline is pretty good IF you play like me and run around the whole time. If the other team isn't popping UAVs, ghost is close to useless for most of the match and you're better off using something else.
Speaking of which, don't underestimate the UAV. I know it isn't as glorious as using dogs/chopper/gunship, but when I play I have UAV up for 90% of the match and usually end up with just as many kills from my gun as some people put up with their helicopters and shit.

Thanks for the advice. And you're right, UAV + Hardline would be a major advantage. I might try the Commando over the FAMAS next, it seems like the FAMAS is very weak.

UAV and Hardline is extremely powerful, you will be getting uav's extremely quick off spawn which helps build up to the bigger streaks.
Avoid launchers, Napalm strike has also never struck me as a great killstreak. Then again the middle kill streaks are all a little weak.
What playstyle do you have? You have to match your weapons to your playstyle.

Yeah, I run Napalm because the care package is shit 99% of the time. Guess I could run sentry. I miss the Harrier Strike from MW2!

I prefer the AK-47 over the Famas. You can try that, although it is one of the last guns you unlock. That gun is STRONG, especially if you tap the trigger quickly for long range shots.
I add silencer and a extend mag with warlord or just use the silencer. It's good with the red dot sight too anyways.

My nephew just got a Dazzle and it was like 80-something USD. Not too bad. If I were to get one, though, I'd probably go with something nice like the Hauppauge because it's worth it to capture in full HD.

It has been discontinued for a long time now, and can't for the life of me remember where exactly I got it (Might of been eBay) but I do remember it only cost me $8. The only problem is that it only runs on 32 bit systems and I'm not sure if it works on Vista or 7. For sure it works on XP.
It's a pretty neat little device that has worked flawlessly for me and records in pretty decent quality. I have never had any issues recording and it comes with the software that easily creates the video for uploading to Youtube. Again, the only struggle is the compatibility issues with newer operating systems.
