Yeah, I guess the upside for waiting is that PC side will benefit from Valve being on hand if shit gets fucked up on Steam when the servers go live.

That's what's been told on the steam forums, but I am installing the game on steam as we speak. Maybe it isn't true.

I think the retail versions are good, the digital ones wont unlock until the morning. I guess it's because Activision doesn't want Steam to dwarf retail sales anymore than it will. :\

I believe it's over now but you were able to get the PC version for 45.

It's actually a lot less devious than that :lol The delay is just so Valve employees will be in the office when the game unlocks in case there are any issues or errors that they'll need to deal with. Which is why the game won't unlock on Steam at midnight; everyone who works at Valve will be at home They've done this quite a few times with major titles in the past, they don't want the game to unlock and then have no one around to address any problems that may arise.

Really? I have the PS3 version of MW2 and never had a framerate issue. .

Even the 360 version had major issues maintaining anything close to a constant 60fps, the PS3 version was even worse, dipping down as low as 20fps at times. You just didn't notice it, for whatever reason.

Honestly, it really annoys me that people trot out the COD games as a good example of 60fps console games, they're nothing of the sort. Well, in fairness, COD4 on 360 was close, but none of the other iterations have been.

I pulled the trigger on a 360 copy over playing it on PC or PS3 because of my friends.

This is my first Call of Duty game. I have played a bit of COD4 and WaW but I didn't really get into them. I enjoyed BFC2 and currently playing REACH as my current fps.

I hope I'll be able to see and understand why this series is loved by so many.

Amazon screwed me on Reach release day delivery, with two separate orders made months apart. It can happen. Ended up going to Best Buy and getting $40 of Amazon credit. But besides that one screw-up, release day delivery has always worked, and most of the time I don't get a shipping notice until late the night before or on the same day.

So yeah, you can relax. Or panic. Your choice ;P

good to hear.. i'm torn about what platform i want to get it on .... a lot of my PSN buds are getting is on PS3 .. plus i have two PS3s and one 360 .... i guess I'll get it on PS3 .. MW2 multi was fine on PS3 ... SP will probably suffer a bit in the framers per second dept. but hopefully it will be minor ...

They will be pretty much identical, trust me. I've played every version on every console (not including PC) and they all run pretty much the same.

At least for me the distribution center for Amazon closest to me is really really really close so it usually doesn't ship until way late at night since it doesn't take very long to arrive.
