and it only took 19 games to do it. From NIT to #1 in 10 months. i've gotta say, being the unanimous #1, in both polls...i've missed this feeling. can we keep it? hopefully. hopefully south carolina won't spoil the magic. we'll see. but damn it feels good.

Some scheduling that worked out helped as someone pointed out a week ago or so. Still, Coach Cal has proved his worth once again. Not just in talent but his teams always get after it in effort + D.

The teams that really get after you tend to stay at the top, despite talent, mismatches, or injuries. I think Cal's teams are brutal like that.. I'll also say despite all the potentially fair complaints about bias, that every year Coach K's teams really get after it intensity + defensive wise.

Alright.. not that I think we are actually a top 10 team at this point, but how the fuck is Michigan St ahead of us?

We have a better record AND we beat them.

Its amazing the first half of the season the team would consistently play offense and just not play defense for games at a time.

Ever since the Louisville game, Kentucky has suddenly played great defense every game but hasnt played well offensively only two games

This game is going at the speed we want, but we can't buy a basket. I think we were something like 2 of 16 shooting to end the half.

the replay showed that to NOT be offensive interference/whatnot, it was a clean tip clear of the rim. oh well, we're getting their low-post guys in foul trouble

We're certainly out there playing like the #1 team in the country. Just keep sending it to Cousins and foul out everyone. And we need to learn that if we try to guard Downey the whistle will blow.

i've noticed several south carolina positions where the ball handler is in the corner. that really annoys me. that's just asking to be trapped

i am sad. it was probably the obama phone call. either that or the fact that we sucked tonight and couldnt eek out a win. c'est la vie.

Pullen was on fire tonight after the cold lapse. Baylor was a bit cold. It was an exciting game

This game proves one player can not win a game for Kentucky. Cousins cant win a game by himself. Patterson has to show up, he has dissapeared since the SEC started. Wall has not played well since the SEC started.

That Em Ess Yu game was pretty good.
And by good I mean pathetically sloppy.

I'm glad we beat U of M though, with their joke of a football program, they'd never let us hear the end of it.
But on the other side of the coin the Spartys looked terrible in many ways so maybe a loss would have taught them a lesson.

Either way pick it up.

Not specifically a dig at South Carolina, just a general annoyance with the trend. Kansas State didn't rush the court when they beat #1 Texas, which i though was a breath of fresh air.
