Links down for me now. I'll be able to check it tomorrow when I get back my desktop.

Edit: I think we should look into giving more points for getting a perfect. Didn't it only happen once all of last season? Or maybe just major bonus points if u get a perfect week plus all the spreads perfect.

It's possible I made an error on the link. I'll doublecheck it when I get home.

AlteredBeast

Fork 'em, Sparky!
Another year, another late season meltdown from my Huskers. :(

I am hoping from the best, but the last decade has been unkind to my team. :(

Predictions:

Vs. Southern Miss - W 32 - 17
At UCLA - W 35 - 13
Vs. Arkansas St - W 47 - 10
Vs. Idaho St - W 45 - 6
Vs. Wisconsin - L 24 - 35
At Ohio St - L 18 - 24
Vs. Northwestern - W 42 - 17 (Revenge for last years Fluke-A-Thon)
VS Michigan - L 32 - 35
At Michigan St - W 22 - 21
Vs Penn St - W 32 - 12 (won't make any rape jokes, but we will make this game unpleasant for them)
Vs. Minnesota - W 42 - 22
At Iowa - W 27 - 21

10 - 3. Win games we are favored in, lose ones we are not. If we win more than that, I am going to shout it from the rooftops. Our advantage over last year is that we are home game heavy. With a possible (but not probable) chance at the B1G CG due to hopeful atrophy from the other teams in our division, and couple that with a bowl game, we are playing 15 games this year! Not too shabby.

for my other team:

BYU

Vs. Washington St - W 38 - 35 (If Leach gets the air raid going in game one, though, this game could be AMAZING, especially with BYU's lax defense over the last few years)
Vs. Weber St - W 34 - 9
At Utah - L 19 - 35 (Utah embarrassed them last year and Pac-12 recruiting will only help them more this year)
At Boise St - L 12 - 33 (No more shank-a-saurus to lose a close one like BSU did in Nevada last year, plus only a five day prep from losing at Utah!)
Vs. Hawaii - W 42 - 38 (Norm Chow is always a great offensive mind, now to see if he can see the whole team)
Vs. Utah St - W 24- 14
Vs. Oregon St - W 29 - 21
At Notre Dame - L 17 - 32
At Georgia Tech - L 17 - 28
Vs. Idaho Vandals - W 35 - 6
At. SJSU - W 24 - 21
At New Mexico St - W 42 - 3

8 - 4.

And I thought this was going to be a thread about how to pass urine testing in sports and/or the workplace.

Me and my bag of someone else's clean piss are left cold.

Two things: It is very weird to legitimately pick Navy over ND, but that's how down I think the Irish have fallen. Secondly, how did the NCAA not think to ban Penn State from all pick'ems and gambling books, jurisdiction and control be damned?

I've struggled with hot piss all my life. It is a blessing that my team now embraces it. #GYPH

Hogs go 10-2 and JLS goes 12-0 in press conferences.

UCF Knights, NOT Golden Knights!

And we are under no bowl ban this year. We appealed the NCAA.

That being said, #GYPH

Holy shit, this happened four years ago and I had no idea? But you didn't even change the mascot. It is still a Knight. Who is gold.

At least the Rays actually changed their mascot. Not sure what they are now, but at least they manned up about the change.

edit: 5! But I see that when we played you guys was 2006, so that was before the change.

I think an edit is fine before any of the games start, but once any have started you need to make a new post for the later game picks.

UCF did update the mascot, though. But yeah, it is still Knightro. There was a major rebrand in 2007 right before the team moved to their on-campus stadium. So all graphics were updated and the team lost the "Golden" part of their name.

if the appeal is declined before season ends the ban will still be for this year

Likely won't happen. Apparently given the time constraints, there can't be a decision until after the season. Also seniors are now not allowed to transfer without penalty so I doubt the NCAA will come back and keep this years ban because it screws them over. They'll just move it to 2013 if the appeal is denied. Then the 2013 seniors would have free reign on schools.

Gotta get my cable ready for this goodness. Also, you think Tenn will be that good and Vandy will be that bad.

More importantly, get your tie right.

Done!

I'm basically shooting in the dark this first week. I don't really care enough to look into how good some of these teams might actually be.

I have to look into that. I finally managed to ditch cable. But I suppose it makes sense to use it only during FB season then ditch it after. Or at least knock down to lower tiers.

Right! I wish I had the skills to shop a Gators helmet into my guys hand.

Also, I don't even know how good my team is supposed to be! 8 wins or bust!

As I have said before, a few breaks the other way, and the terrible team of yesteryear could have broken 10 wins post bowl-season, so I feel like 8 is certainly doable if we show some progress.

That is what I always say I will do, but I never actually do it. I can pick up ESPN over the air with my built in tuner and basic cable, but I can't get ESPN3 without paying for a higher tier. And with Gators being shitty and even the Tenn/UF game getting bumped, I will need it for a lot of the games.

I say I will cancel after the Superbowl. And then Game of Thrones starts airing, and I will cancel after that. And then it is too much of a hassle to deal with the cancelling bullshit. And by years end I have been taken over and over by Time Warner.

8 wins is my optimistic goal. Anything more than that, I would be ecstatic.

If we lose the A&M game, I think we're in for some tough times.

Anyone know what the deal is with ESPN3/WatchESPN?

It looks like they're making some changes this year, but I can't tell if I'll still be able to watch games or not. :/

What is your source on this? I had just assumed it was the same, that is why I was planning to up my cable plan.

Less content? Pay service? Less cable companies included?

As for Florida, they were unexpectedly bad last year, leading to lowered expectations for this year. QBs got decent playing time last year, although a true Fresh would have been better than Brantley anyways. Still have a lot of talent, although it wasn't really playing up to potential last year. I think caution is the way of it, at least until after the A&M game when we can get a better gauge.

I don't know, that's why I'm asking. :p

I went over to ESPN3, to see what games are gonna be available next weekend, and it shows a bunch of them with little key icons. I have no idea what that means, but it can't be good. Their FAQ says they switched how the whole thing works in the last week or so (in preparation for football, I guess), but is pretty vague about what exactly changed.

What I want to know is if I can still watch games on it through my cable provider, even if I'm not on the tier that has ESPN.

Florida surely won't be that bad, right?

Tom Luginbill picked them to win the East. Which seems crazy.

I guess I can do my picks.

Should be the same. ESPN3 is just another network now on WatchESPN instead of being independent on ESPN3.com. WatchESPN includes other programming that requires cable/dish like the regular ESPN channels. ESPN3 just requires a participating ISP.

Regarding the key icon, it's just for blacked out games.

GZYz+

Also, and it's not like I'm going to watch this game much, but why the fuck would you black out the entire east coast ESPN?

If anybody feels like sharing your ESPN3 connection, I'd be grateful. I'm with Insight in Columbus and their internet is through Time Warner - Roadrunner, and they don't have a deal with ESPN3, yet the main Insight service does. Sucks. I've been thinking about going to UVerse because you can watch ESPN3 with them, but looks like installation is $150 unless I can find a coupon to get it for free.

I use AT&T here in cbus as my Internet and insight as my cable. I get ESPN3

Not sure if possible (outside of ssh, remote connection) since espn3 doesn't require a login. It just detects your ISP through your IP. You could try first row?

Once you've verified your account by connecting through a cable modem or w/e from your home (where you subscribe), you can log in anywhere.
