College Football 2013 |Week 11| Thursday Night Lights

Those of you that are choosing Michigan by 4 (or choosing Nebraska to win) need to reevaluate your pick. Minimum should be Michigan by 11. I will be choosing Nebraska myself but I'm required by Husker law to choose my team. Nebraska will have 2-3 turnovers and allow 250+ rushing yards. It's not at home and we're even worse on the road than we are at home. The score will probably end up around 34-17. 4-5 offensive starters will still be out for the game, Abdullah still has a bum ankle (and we love him all the more for gutting it out), and we're still stuck with the same porous defense we've had the past few years.

They almost lost to a winless UConn. Their online and game day coaching is suspect right now.

Just remember we dont have a game when I went looking for this weeks poster.

fuck.

First kanye canceling on me now this, worst weekend ever!

Jeebus canceled on you? Things are looking up!

What Florida really needs is a QB that can transfer into their program and play immediately. Or a Jameis Winston type. Good luck finding that.

Your defense is is still pretty good, but not as good as last year. I think they'll be in a good spot next year.

Will Grier could be that guy. And yeah, the D should recover a bit next year. But like you said earlier, the lines are what we need. And we need some Jucos or something.

Our front seven is just as suspect. It's a game of bad vs. bad and given how inconsistent our offense has looked in addition to the recent losses on the line and receiving corps I don't know how consistently we'll be able to move the ball. Expect Nebraska to come out hot in the first quarter but once we're off script we tend to stall out frequently.

Fine, I changed my pick on Nebraska / Michigan. I did not realize how many injuries they had.

Edit: Fuck it, I switched it back to Nebraska again. This game is a freaking mystery so I'm just going with my initial gut feeling.

Yeah, I know I'm supposed to pick 4 if I like the team by a field goal, but it just doesn't look right to me. I'm looking at difference in final score, like 20-17.

He's thinking of 3-point shots by now.

This years team is actually lean on outside shooting, compared to most Duke teams, but if you think thats cray, wait till you find out there are only two white scholarship players on the team. ZOMG!

Holy hell. What went wrong, pxleyes?! kidding of course.

And as for UCF, this season does feel special, but I can't help but stay reserved because we might derp it up and lose to Temple or something. Houston is going to be angry. We've ruined some of their seasons in previous years in CUSA and the have been getting snubbed in the polls this season sitting at 7-1. We knocked them out on our homecoming a few years ago when they were sitting at #12 with Keenum running the show. They'll be out to prove something... Hopefully proving their unranked status!
This will be Houston hardest game on their schedule this season. I expect a tight, close game that comes down to the wire. May the best team win.

It's a good thing we're getting a couple of top 10 matchups and some other interesting games to talk about this weekend, because this website is going to be fucked forever starting next Friday. Hopefully it will be stable in time for bowls!

Here's something interesting that I didn't know before - when Lane Kiffin was hired at Tennessee the Vols had two QB commits - Bryce Petty and Tajh Boyd. Kiffin told them both that he was going in a different direction and let them go. Tennessee ended up not signing a QB that year.

I thought that was the year they recruited Tyler Bray?

Lonestar

I joined for Erin Brockovich discussion
While reading STATSTATSTAT wars over on TD, I had a thought of seeing some stats that are never really posted:

Defensive plays (plays that the defense is on the field for)
with percentages against those amount of plays, in regards to Sacks, Pass Break Ups (INT's and Deflections combined), Tackle For Losses, Forced Fumbles, Opponent incompletes (minus those already accounted for PBU's), and even forcing the other team to punt. Anything that I can account for that is a negative play, a null play, or a turnover.

Guess I could go back and put in turnover on downs and missed/blocked kicks...

Anyway, SPREADSHEETS
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AuuGLySv1GfCdEk0cFJ6WmduaDNYVkdYVWItLTlfUWc&usp=drive_web&rm=full#gid=0

Basically, Michigan State, on 60% of it's defensive plays, either sacks, PBU's, FF, forces an incomplete, or gets a punt.
