What's with all these lines and covers? I'm a football fan, dammit, not some jittery gambling junky.

MOV is the way Jesus and Tim Tebow intended it to be.

South Carolina (-3.5) vs. UNC- No Cover

Ohio State (-17.5) v. VA Tech Cover

Whoa looks like we got ourselves a #CivilConflict with the pick 'ems this season.

Mostly nobody has bothered to set up a Yahoo one because TTK for some reason always wanted to do it himself. It took me literally 3 minutes to set up a Yahoo group and it will keep track of everything for us.

mre

Golden Domers are chickenshit!!
I have lonestar and ron paul.

Okay, if the scores turned out exactly like they did in my example in the op:
Thursday
South Carolina (-3.5) vs. UNC - COVER
TCU (-19.5) vs. Minnesota - COVER
Friday
Michigan State vs. Western Michigan MOV TIE BREAKER - MSU by 28
Saturday
New Mexico State vs. Florida (-36.5) NO COVER
Louisville v. Auburn (-14.5) COVER
BYU v. Nebraska (-9.5) COVER
Texas v. Notre Dame (-11.5) - NO COVER
Wisconsin v. Alabama (-11.5) - NO COVER
Arkansas St. v. USC (-33.5) - COVER
Stanford (-12.5) v. Northwestern - NO COVER
Ohio State (-17.5) v. VA Tech - COVER
then this would be the score this week for the people who have submitted already:
7 lonestar
5 cdyhybrid
4 chicko1983
4 perfectchaos007
3 chaosblade
2 StrikerObi

Here is what my spreadsheet looks like:
U68xwlg.png

I'm not sure how ttk did it, but once the results are in for a game, i should be able to very quickly give you the weekly scores (assuming I'm home, yahoo, etc etc).

Edit: and now I feel like I've wasted an hour of my life. :(

I'm cool with doing both, but Yahoo is way less work for everyone involved.

I joined for Erin Brockovich discussion
but it involves remembering what my yahoo login was, and that knowledge was lost to time and scissor lifts.

I'll participate in both. It's whatevs. Winner of mre's Pickem gets Bowl thread naming privileges. Winner of Yahoo! pickem gets to win something from Affeinvasion's closet

FIGHT ON!

Mostly nobody has bothered to set up a Yahoo one because TTK for some reason always wanted to do it himself. It took me literally 3 minutes to set up a Yahoo group and it will keep track of everything for us.

Well, I wanted something that would be simpler than Yahoo and also in-thread to help generate discussion and foster community. And yeah, I liked running the numbers, too. I just don't have time this season.

I'm not sure how ttk did it, but once the results are in for a game, i should be able to very quickly give you the weekly scores (assuming I'm home, yahoo, etc etc).

B1G Predictions:

Michigan:
7-5 (Losses to Utah, BYU, Minnesota, Sparty, and Ohio St)

Maryland:
6-6 (Losses to WVU, Michigan, tOSU, Penn St, Wiscy, and Sparty)

Ohio St:
12-0 (shit schedule is shit. Enjoy your cakewalk to another playoff, Buckeyes)

SEC East champ Indiana:
5-7 (Losses to Western Kentucky, tOSU, Penn St, Rutgers, Michigan St, Michigan, and Maryland)

Purdue:
2-10: (Wins against Indiana St and Illinois)

Nebraska:
8-4 (Losses to Miami, Wisconsin, Michigan St, and Minnesota)

Illinois:
3-9: (Wins against Kent, Western Illinois, and Middle Tennessee St)

Penn St:
9-3 (losses to Ohio St, Michigan, Michigan St)

Michigan St:
11-1 (Loss to Ohio St)

Rutgers:
5-7 (Losses to Michigan St, Penn St, Ohio St, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nebraska, and Maryland)

Wisconsin:
10-2 (Loss to Alabama and Minnesota. Damn the B1G west scheduling is an embarrassment)

Iowa:
5-7 (Pitt, Wiscy, Northwestern, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska) Ferentz finally gets canned...

Minnesota:
9-3 (Losses to TCU, Michigan, Ohio St)

Northwestern:
5-7: (Losses to Stanford, Duke, Minnesota, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn St and WIsconsin)

Commentary:

The West schedule is a dumpster fire. This is what happens when you bring in MD and Rutgers, who add jack shit to the conference. The result is a B1G West division with three decent but not great teams and the rest are garbage.

Great post, but, you might want to rethink all of these.

Waiting to see whether the Pacific or South wins this battle* (Yahoo v. Small town lawya')

*Conveniently that will probably be the match up when Ohio State breaks the hearts of everyone in the state by losing to a 7 (now 8) win Fighting Harbaughs at the end of the season.

LOL, I know, right? Illinois is going to suck hardcore, but teams rally around interim coaches all the time and those three are from mid-majors and are largely up and down all the time. It wouldn't surprise me if they win 1 game or 5 at this point.

I think you should, for next week, put some of the long line games up. They are harder to pick IMO.

Any FCS teams with a chance of upsetting an FBS team this week? I think Sam Houston has a decent shot against Texas Tech.

Not sure this would be an upset, but, Villanova over UConn.
S Dakota St. over Kansas.
N. Iowa over Iowa St.
New Hampshire over San Jose St.

In addition to yours.

Also, I just realized that UGA has to go against chop block schools two weekends in a row at the end of the season. Our poor D-Linemen.

Insert "you don't know what the difference is between a cut block and chop block" argument here.

I agree. The plus is that Georgia Southern is a good warmup for Tech.

No reason to use this gif, but I deem it necessary to be used at least once, every week, for this season of the footballs:

We don't run the flexbone or cut block anymore. We'll run the TO from the pistol at times however.
