Yeah I'm feeling less confident for my picks this week for some reason.

So apparently Charlie Strong has already made a change at offensive coordinator at Texas.

Yet this yields what at the QB position?

Funny story, SDSM&T's fight song (well more of a rapid-fire chant; no band lol) happens to be Georgia Tech's song, "Ramblin' Wreck", though we change the name in the song to 'Rapid Tech'.

so RIP Jacket Knees?

Looks like I'll be rooting against your team.

The fact that Memphis is only a two touchdown favorite vs. Kansas seems kind of crazy. They should completely rout the Jayhawks.

Michigan and Utah are my upset picks this week. I think that spread is probably too wide-both sides are too strong on defense for the game to lean to a high frequency of high scoring games for the Utes. I'll never bet against a Gary Anderson coached team predicted to lose vs. the spread unless it's clearly hopeless.

Our O-Line would make elite QB's look average, good QB's look bad, and decent QB's look abysmal. We have a decent QB in Tyrone, and a possibly good QB in Heard.

We would essentially improve from abysmal to bad.

I have to say that I'm shocked at how poorly Wickline has translated to UT so far. He always got a lot out of under the radar guys at OSU. Has the recruiting just not been up to snuff?

2014's class was mostly Mack Brown's class that Strong inherited. 2015 is all Strong and co's class ( his first full class at Texas). So Wickline hasn't really had a chance to develop his hand selected guys.

I would not recommend moving to a new house 2 days before the season starts.

Or moving at all, ever.

Golden Domers are chickenshit!!
I could have done that in two pictures:

Before:

After:

The rule makes no sense, its that their pads must be covered but that big WR for Va Tech literally had his backflap exposed all night. By rule he should have sat out one play everytime.

LA Tech v. WKU (-3.5) COVER - you're saying you think WKU will win by at least 4 points.

Saturday
Houston v. Louisville (-12.5) NO COVER - you're saying you think Lolsville will either win by fewer than 13 points or will outright lose to Houston.

Did this help?
That went in.
That clearly went over the left goalpost, which clearly is no good.

For a sports thread, we've shown a remarkably poor aptitude for grasping the concept of a point spread.

As an aside, mre, are you taking these spreads from somewhere or are you making them yourself?

Yeah, i was even confused at the inclusion of an explanation. Who doesn't know how point spreads work? I mean that would be in a CFB thread?

Anyway, have I told everyone how much I can't wait to beat Tennessee for the 10th time soon? And order my 10-in-a-row t-shirt as soon as the game is over?

But he's not wrong. Ohio State's schedule this year is a joke.

A) Rankings in Week 2 are less than worthless and rankings in general are clearly biased in favor of SEC teams;
B) Bielema will probably end up losing almost all of those games;
C) National Champions

So Bielema can kindly STFU.

All those things are true, but as an Ohio State fan I don't see how you can be excited about that schedule from a competitive standpoint. As a Michigan fan I'm not even excited about ours and we will have tough games against middling teams. The B1G has really screwed this up by letting in MD and Rutgers.

Wonder if that will bite the B1G in the ass down the road as the cable TV market disintegrates.

Live Sports is the only reason cable TV exists.

That and UMD and Rutgers aren't Dum Dum Us like alot of the other schools mentioned for realignment.

Start from the spreads on a website and then tweak as I want to.

I would think so unless they fix it. Nationally no one is going to get out of bed to watch OSU vs MD which is now the majority of the matchups involving big schools. It's watered down the conference too much and will probably make people ignore it more. Adding more conference games will help a little, but I don't see how they can really fix it now without dropping some lesser teams like Purdue or playing at least 10 conference games. Wish we could drop Purdue and add Notre Dame but that will never happen.
