So he basically just used OU as a 12 month practice facility. lol
The Big 12 blogger David Ubben called his decision "bush league."

OU knew the deal when they took him on. No way is he coming back to play with Trevor Knight, a new OL and without the WR coach who brought him in.

It was the appeal or nothing. Talk of him coming back was wishful thinking from the dirt burglars.

Just felt an earthquake here in Dallas. Guess I can cross that off my bucket list.

Apparently another aftershock just occurred in Irving, but this earthquake was a little bit stronger than the initial one a few hours ago. 3.5 to 3.6 respectively. Can aftershocks by definition be stronger than the initial?

Looks like this is from last year but I don't remember seeing anything about it at the time (it was probably discussed but was just RTed now so it's fresh to me). These dudes (Gerald Willis and Khairi Clark) both did sign for UF in the end.. pretty funny.

It got retweeted because Willis was dismissed from Florida today: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-florida-latest-details-comments-and-reaction

Bama peeps, are people still blaming the game on Kiffin? It seemed like the knee-jerk reaction was to place it squarely on Kiffkins shoulders, is that still the feeling? Are they wanting to run him out of town already?

Apparently we just put out a new offer to a 5'8" receiver from Louisiana. I look forward to our coaching staff making him our go to guy for end zone fades and deep routes against defenders a half foot taller than him.

No way is he coming back to play with Trevor Knight, a new OL and without the WR coach who brought him in.

But he had all season to commiserate with future All American Baker Mayfield on the bench! I assumed their bond would be unbreakable.

Bama fans are pretty stupid if they blame Kiffin considering their defense played like shit.

But this is the state of Alabama we're talking about. Logic and reasoning is some gad damn hippie socialist liberal Muslim Obama NONESENSE, boy. Roooollll taaaaadd!

I've still seen people blaming him. And I definitely put a fair amount of blame on him, the offensive gameplan didn't make sense from the start and he never seemed to move away from it when it was clear it wasn't working. Why we went in with a pass-first mentality against a team that's been softer against the run in most games is baffling. Even worse seeing the offense abandon the run while it was working. Get a first down rushing, get a run for 6 yards or so, followed by two pass attempts that result in sacks.

OSU's defense seemed focused on taking away Cooper, Bama's offense didn't seem to try to exploit that.

It's not fair to put all of it on him or the offense though. Like Piggus said, the defense didn't do their part either. About the only thing Bama did well through the game was punt.

Rewatching the game I have no clue what Bama's play calling was on that last drive, they were running the drive like it was the middle of the 3rd quarter, not the end of the game with 90 seconds left. It was super odd.

When was the last time that Bama had been put in a situation like that, where they were actually up against a clock? Perhaps they were so full of themselves that they didn't practice a 2-minute drill like other teams might?

Just an observation, because the play-calling, the throws to the middle of the field and the lack of hurry to get back to the line were pretty strange.

Cardale announced he is coming back which isn't shocking.

Honestly the Braxton shit is getting old, I havnt seen one OSU source say anything about. Urban said he "expects" him back.

On to the Oregon game I feel likes it pretty 50/50 on who will win. The offenses are basically exactly the same, run based spread. Although our turnovers have been an issue in the big games for us vs Bama and MSU. I didn't get to watch a single play of Oregon vs MSU but it seems pretty close to ours vs them. Their qb is obviously better than ours. The defenses seem pretty close. How is Oregons secondary? I know they lost their best player back there. I think we will be able to run on them reasonably easy.

Our coach is obviously better. Helfrich would probably do something stupid like throw deep under 2 minutes when the opponent only has 2 timeouts.

Against LSU this year, and Ole Miss earlier (a bad holding flag blew a really good chance to win this game, turning a red zone shot at the endzone and 30-40 seconds, into a too early heave into the endzone that got picked).

But yes, the forgetful last drive didn't match the urgency. I could see they were planning to try and get OJ on a quick outroute to get out of bounds, but OJ just didn't want it bad enough and got tackled in bounds.

I'd put most of the blame on Kiffin initially, because of abandoning the run and Henry. Dude disappeared for 2 quarters. The defense had the same problems they've had all year, so it was both expected and overall unacceptable (perhaps changeup the MLB, if they can't cover the middle zone in what looked like Cover 2), and taking E. Jackson out of the game early, like they did against Auburn. Now, it probably doesn't work, but what they had wasn't working anyway.

Good point. Just a strange drive altogether.

True, but Oregon has been running that for 7-8 years since Chip Kelly was hired. There really is no comparing the Oregon offense to any other P5 team.

I'm an ASU fan, you can't stop Oregon on offense you can only hope to slow them down so that you can score more points... and their defense keeps getting better.

Not saying OSU has no chance, you out recruit Oregon regularly, but, Oregon wins easily or OSU wins in one of the best games of the year.

Not that I completely disagree, but who would you want them to play? Ragland and Lee were already injured. SDH showed why he was third string. Here was our LB depth chart to begin the season:
SAM

30 Denzel Devall

25 Dillon Lee

32 Rashaan Evans/34 Christian Miller

MIKE

33 Trey DePriest/10 Reuben Foster

11 Shaun Dion Hamilton

WILL

18 Reggie Ragland/10 Reuben Foster

35 Walker Jones

JACK

47 Xzavier Dickson

7 Ryan Anderson
Miller red-shirted and Evans and SDH were already plugged in. That left... Walker Jones? Did he even play a snap this year?

Time to go 4-1-6, or just straight up 4-7 no LB's. 5-6 no LB's.

Also, I've never coached football, and I haven't played NCAA football in 2 years.

Our defense has kept getting better also. And on O its not like FSU wasn't moving it they just couldn't punch it in at the end of drives. And then they promptly imploded in the 2nd half. I do think only the one week to prepare does hurt us more than them. We will see.

If we are a minus in the turnover margin I do think it would get ugly just the same as FSU.

Also in that Urban gif I'm more enthralled by the 2 assistants behind him who immediately look to see how far and where it went.

Im also disappointed that without WatchESPN there seems to be no way to watch the replay of the finebaum film room of the sugar bowl. Lame.

As bad as the defense played (and giving credit to the offenses of AU, Mizzou and OSU), losing Ragland was the straw that broke the camel's back in that game. We literally had nobody left who could step up.

Here's our ILB recruiting for the past 4 years, which kind of underscores the problem. Some of these were listed as OLBs on 247 Sports, but played some ILB for us.
2011

Trey Depriest 5*
Brent Calloway 4* (Fucking idiot, never contributed)
Vinnie Sunseri 3* (Played safety for us, went pro last year)

2012

Reggie Ragland 4*
Dillon Lee 4*
Tyler Hayes 3* (Fucking idiot)
Denzel Devall 4* (moved to OLB)

2013

Reuben Foster 5* (human missile, will never play unless he can learn to keep his head up while tackling)
Walker Jones 3*

2014

Rashaan Evans 5*
Christian Miller 4/5* (red-shirted)
Ronnie Clark 4* (safety)
Shaun Dion Hamilton 4*
So, from our past 4 recruiting classes, we've really only had 4 players who contributed significant snaps at the ILB position. Two of these were injured in the OSU game (Ragland and Lee). I'm not sure why our recruiting for this position has been so subpar in terms of sheer number, but the injury bug caught us and we paid for it on that long run by Elliott that turned out to be the game winning score.

Gotta sign 5 OLineman a year, and 4 DLinemen too. The DLine rotation is already 8-10 strong.

Also, gotta find the Jack LB to rule all Jack LB's.

But yes, I can see the problem, besides the obvious players who got kicked off the team, is Foster not panning out (hopefully just "so far" and not "completely").

2013 fucked us over. It's cool though. We've got 4 ILBs recruited now for 2015.

Oh, wait. No we don't. We have 0 since Leo Lewis flipped to Mississippi. Hopefully some of our OLB commits are penciled in at ILB.

It isn't impossible to stop the Oregon offense, you just have to win the line of scrimmage. Oregon lost repeatedly to teams that beat them up front on both sides of the ball since Chip Kelly arrived on the scene.

It was the exact game plan that Kiffin lost so many games at USC with. He used to try and force feed the ball to Robert Woods and Marqise Lee all while ignoring the running game. I wish there was something like All 22 for college so that I could compare his play calling between the two.

Oh, good. Our oregon fans have turned into obnoxious dickholes, too.

Sorry, but having spent a lot of time in Texas, I've been treated like garbage by Alabama fans. It's the most entitled fanbase in the country, with people who think the team deserves to be in the championship every year regardless of record. You guys really needed to be taken down a peg, and OSU did that in heroic fashion.

I met a Bama fan in person at a bar here in my little Oregon town last year and he was genuinely confused as to why there were so many people wearing Oregon gear. He was legit shook that there weren't swathes of Bama fans filling our bars prior to their epic battle with Virginia Tech.

I know you're not like those people, but c'mon. You know your fanbase has issues just like the Oregon fanbase can be stupid in other ways.

There are douchebags in every single fanbase.

Some people are just crazy when it comes to their team. I feel like I only notice the SECSECSEC side of it more cause I live down there.

But my buddies who go to college near OSU say the fans are just as ignorant regarding their team.

Enjoy the season and the championship if you win it, but for the love of God, at least act like you've been there before even if you actually haven't.

And I don't believe you that there was somebody visiting or residing in Oregon that was fucking "legit shoot" that people were cheering for the local team.

It was a joke. Learn to laugh at yourselves a little, man. :p

And yeah, the guy was legitimately surprised that there were lots of Oregon fans around. It was weird. He asked me who was going to win and he got mad when I sarcastically said West Virginia. You don't have to believe me lol, but that's what happened. Guy was probably drunk so whatevs.

Indeed. I know a lot of fellow Duck fans who I wish would jump off the bandwaggon and get caught under the wheels. I feel extremely embarrassed at some of the home games when someone near me boos an injury, for example.

Just felt an earthquake here in Dallas. Guess I can cross that off my bucket list.

Wouldn't be shocked if it was because of fracking.

Yeah, if anything, people up here are obsessed with the SEC. Meaning every football related conversation relates to hating on "the SEC."

There are two leading hypotheses about why we're having so many earthquakes all of the sudden -

  1. Fracking.
  2. They generally seem to originate in Irving, at or near the site of the Dallas Cowboys old imploded stadium, so the earthquakes are some sort of curse, or perhaps the devil getting angry that he followed up on his end of the deal for the Cowboys to have a good season without realizing Jerry Jones didn't have a soul to barter with in the first place.

I have no desire to run him out of town, but he could have called a better game (as Lonestar and mre have echoed), and this was apparent in-game.

When Henry was running all over the left side of the field, I was thinking "good, keep doing that until they stop it" ... and then the play disappeared for two whole quarters.

Yeah, seems like fracking could very well be the cause.

I'm surprised you're not a bit thicker-skinned about this stuff.

All of the stuff posted about Bama in this thread pales in comparison to what's been said about OSU over the last eight years or so.
